The Moist Exhausting Free Trip Ever - Link to Part II Thread pg. 244

You all are cracking me up!! The mind games are killing me! :lmao: Stop torturing yourselves, I'm probably going to add another letter tomorrow, then you can go back to your library basements and do some more "research".

Tim and I are tied at ZERO!!!!!! and I at least have guessed a couple !!:rotfl2:I think guess is accurate as I have had no idea !!! Unlike Glen I am not spending my sleep time Googling !!!:snooty::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Yes, I was actually seriously considering this!! :lmao:

Fear not, I never figured it out.

Yeah, you say that, but I'm not buying it!:sad2:
Can you say......Photoshop.....:rolleyes1

Oh no. You probably have mad photoshop skillz.

How about a SPOON!!!!!!:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Yeah, give 'im the spoon Rosie!

You all are cracking me up!! The mind games are killing me! :lmao: Stop torturing yourselves, I'm probably going to add another letter tomorrow, then you can go back to your library basements and do some more "research".

Yes, we need a clue!

Rosie I think you should definitely get some credit for guessing. I'd protest, if I were you. ;)

You can see where all my research got me this round -- ZERO!

Maybe I'm just saying I'm giving up. :rotfl2:

So you're saying there's a chance...

Rosie I think you should definitely get some credit for guessing. I'd protest, if I were you. ;)

Does your "research" for that contest involve the same process as your "research" for mine? :confused3

Day 6 - Part 2

Okay, where did I leave off? Oh yes, we were at Animal Kingdom and had quickly gotten in a couple of rides on Expedition Everest and then Judy had received a phone call which put a damper on our spirits. Well, determined to forge ahead toward fun, we decided to head over to Africa. On the trail between Asia and Africa we saw a small crowd of people looking at something.

IMG_3340.jpg

This was another first for us! It was DeVine. She moved slowly and gracefully…and then wrapped her tendrils around a pole that she seemed particularly fond of.

IMG_3342.jpg

We watched her for about 20 seconds, and then Judy said, “Yep. That’s DeVine all right.” “Okay, let’s go.”

As my family started off toward Africa, I moved in for a close-up and then ran to catch up (no, it was more of a "speed-walk" in a very safe manner  ).

IMG_3343.jpg

We approached Africa and I felt obliged to take a picture of the building with the “Good Eats” sign and grass growing on the roof. For some reason, I really like this building. I have another picture of it, taken from the other direction, coming up in the next chapter.

IMG_3344.jpg

Then we started down the Pangani Forest Exploration Trail. The first critter that was photo-worthy was the okapi.

IMG_3345.jpg

This picture kind of looks like he has an excessive number of hind legs. Either that, or it’s two zebras inside of an okapi costume.

After some other exhibits, we came to the hippo tank.

IMG_3346.jpg

I think it’s a duck’s foot (and other unmentionable duck parts) obscuring this next picture.

IMG_3347.jpg

The hippo surfaced a little and Judy said, “Get a picture of him above water”, but he blinked, of course.

IMG_3348.jpg

We moved on, and saw a meerkat who liked to look in every direction except toward my camera.

IMG_3351.jpg

IMG_3352.jpg

We approached the gorilla exhibit and James seized the opportunity to get his picture taken in front of the life-sized gorilla drawing.

IMG_3354.jpg

At least the gorilla’s scientific name is easy to remember, “Gorilla, gorilla, gorilla”, even if it’s not very imaginative.

Before we left the building to go out to the gorilla area, I changed lenses, putting the zoom lens on the camera. Last year when we were at the gorilla exhibit I was really wishing I had a zoom lens to try to get a good picture of these guys, particularly that first guy who always seems to be sitting back in the vegetation. Since then, I received the zoom lens as a Christmas present from Judy. (Actually, I asked for it for Christmas, picked it out, and was with Judy when she bought it. But sometimes those are the best gifts -- I almost never return those!) But anyway, getting a good gorilla picture was what I was thinking of when I set my mind on getting a zoom lens.

So now the time had come. Zoom lens, meet Gorilla.

IMG_3356.jpg

This next one definitely needs a thought bubble.

IMG_3357.jpg

I really like this one.

IMG_3358.jpg

IMG_3359.jpg

IMG_3360.jpg

And this guy looks really intimidating!

IMG_3362.jpg

We moved further down the trail and a gorilla was running around with some leaves.

IMG_3363.jpg

IMG_3364.jpg

Now I know this isn’t a really long chapter, but when I took this next picture I immediately knew that it had to be used to finish-up a chapter. So without further ado, I give you….the end.

Do ya think complaining wood do any good ?????:rotfl2::rotfl2:

As far as getting awarded a point, not a chance. But you'll feel better! :thumbsup2

So you're saying there's a chance...

YEAH!

Does your "research" for that contest involve the same process as your "research" for mine? :confused3

In the sense that both have required years of self-sacrifice, attention to detail, and training my body for the physical stamina and mental acuity that these challenges require.....yes. Other than that, there's no similarlity whatsoever.

0 Judys

Great photos of Divine as well as the gorilla...you got some really close up shots

IMG_3365.jpg

HAHAHAHAHA!!!! :lmao::lmao::lmao:

We got some pretty good meerkat shots I can't wait to show everybody.

I see 1 Judy

ETA and in order to not spoil everyone's else fun in the spotting Judy game in white: you can see part of her head in the very first picture, bottom right

and on the update itself: wonderful christmas present!! These gorilla pictures are fantastic. As well as the Devine portrait! She is a beautiful lady - but I agree with Judy's asessment of her entertainment value. ;)

0 Judy sightings but 1 Judy reference.

As for the thought bubble- Check this out!

I will quote and edit the next 2 when I get home.

I :lovestruc the gorillas.

I agree with Magdalene......1 Judy! Unfortunately my dear, I know that Glenn was actually looking for the second correct answer to the Judy contest this time around, so I win! And it has nothing to do with the fact that I will assuredly run into Glenn and Judy at Kidani in the future, and might otherwise accidentally mention his pajama party comment on Jen's TR in front of her...... :rolleyes1

We watched her for about 20 seconds, and then Judy said, “Yep. That’s DeVine all right.” “Okay, let’s go.”

:lmao:

I'm glad you said that. I hate to be the only guy who sees things like this and then shrugs and says, "I don't get it." :confused3

Mutant okapi! Save yourselves!

At least the gorilla’s scientific name is easy to remember, “Gorilla, gorilla, gorilla”, even if it’s not very imaginative.

I now know the scientific name for the gorilla. I wonder if I can use this to impress people at social gatherings. Maybe if I can say I know it without actually having to tell them what it is...

:lmao::rotfl2:

Those are indeed the best gifts. The ones where you say, "Here: buy this."

I was going to try and convince my wife that we needed a zoom lens, but she wants it even more than I do!

This next one definitely needs a thought bubble.

Hmmm... I'll get back to you on that one.

I really like this one.

IMG_3358.jpg

Me too! These are great shots!

Oh my...so many cruel, mean-spirited jokes come to mind here...must...bite...tongue...

I do think this could serve as a great updated logo for these guys:

Excellent gorilla photos and even though they did look agressive none did any obsene jestures.

Your Christmas list reminds me of my DH. He lists exactly what he wants down to the model number. Makes for easy shopping.

Great Gorilla Pics Glennbo!
We haven't been over to the Pangani trails in some time but are looking forward to it in January...
