The Moist Exhausting Free Trip Ever - Link to Part II Thread pg. 244

Great update Glenn! Did you grab FPs for Splash for later so you could complete the Triple Mountain Whammy?

Glad to hear James made it on Space Mountain too!!!! Good idea on the reverse psychology. Was he totally hooked on SM and ready to ride again?

And I'm SO WITH YOU on the conditioner! Drives me nuts that you have to either wack the container a million times or stick your finger in there. :headache:

Looking forward to your WCC meal - we ate dinner there a couple years back and it was yummy!

Sounds like you guys covered alot after not getting to the parks until well after rope drop!
I'm eager to hear about Whispering Canyon - we've never been but I've heard good things...

We got 3 pretty popular rides in, so I guess I can't complain....but I would have liked to have accomplished more. But you're right, it's tough to do that when arriving well after rope drop.

Oh, and a ride question...
Are there actual drops on BTMRR or is it just a fast and winding train ride?
I've never been (I don't do rollercoasters) but I thought this may be a possibility.

It's pretty much just a fast and winding train ride. Some small drops, but nothing like Expedition Everest. If you don't do rollercoasters, it's kind of hard for me to judge if you'd like it. I don't think it's very scary, but it could be for someone who's not into that kind of thing.

I love how all 3 kids have 1 eye closed. Was that on purpose?

That's just how the Glennbo family rolls. No, I think it was just that we had come out of that tunnel and were looking directly into the sun. That does look kind of funny though.

Also: why were there streamers in the trees??

That's a good question. The whole time I was thinking that it was from a parade the night before, but you'd think that Disney would have taken care of that before opening the park. If it wasn't from a parade, I don't know.

I'm impressed, Glenn! Running while at WDW and on vacation? :thumbsup2 Sadly, I understand the pull to try out the jogging trail. Heck, I wanna try it out right now! :cool1: I give you extra kudos for running in the Florida summer humidity!

Thanks Carissa. I just posted congratulations on your race over on your thread.

Don't worry, I'm sure I won't make it a habit (running while on vacation, that is).

Six

ETA: 5 obvious, 1 hair on BTMRR

I was waiting to see if people would catch the hair in that one. Good job! Another round for Brook!

:cheer2:

Great update Glenn! Did you grab FPs for Splash for later so you could complete the Triple Mountain Whammy?

No, we weren't planning on coming back that day, so didn't bother.

Glad to hear James made it on Space Mountain too!!!! Good idea on the reverse psychology. Was he totally hooked on SM and ready to ride again?

You'll get plenty of chances to try out all kinds of psychology on Henry, reverse and otherwise. Just wait! :rotfl2:

Yes, I should have put that in the report -- James was like "Let's go on again!" It should have been his second time on it, if he hadn't chickened out on the red shirt day. :sad2:

And I'm SO WITH YOU on the conditioner! Drives me nuts that you have to either wack the container a million times or stick your finger in there. :headache:

Okay, glad I'm not the only one! It is super thick!

Looking forward to your WCC meal - we ate dinner there a couple years back and it was yummy!

I don't think I'm giving anything away by telling you that it was yummy and filling. :thumbsup2

Awesome BTMRR pictures! No camera shake. That's impressive!

Packing up stinks - but at least you are going to Kidani, which is now officially my favorite DVC resort room. I just love it there!

I think you got a lot done for your late MK start. I'm so glad James finally rode Space Mtn. There is something to be said for that reverse psychology!

Parker is really cute.

And, what the heck was that lady doing with the band? I'm sure she would appreciate the disguise. ;)

Hmpfff. It really does not help my position in the Judy-do game if you keep posting these updates while I am asleep!! :sad2:

Great update! I loved the trip notes story with the conditioner! I have found strange sentences in my notes as well... Since you had so much trouble getting a good picture of yourself on Space Mountain I really can't yet determine, how shiny your hair was on that day! :goodvibes But I have fought battles with the Disney conditioner as well! Sometimes I managed to get some out of the bottle, but before I could get it on my hand it just went back into the bottle... :sad2:

You did pretty well with conquering the mountains despite your late arrival time! And how great that you finally got James to go on Space Mountain. His picture on there is so funny! Normally those Space MOuntains pictures are rather boring, but he looks like he is going to go upside down any minute!! :goodvibes

I had to laugh at the disguise you put on the woman with the band. I saw the picture first and then read the text and thought, why is this band guy holding these glasses with nose in front of her face! :rotfl:

Due to all of the walking I do in the parks, I can easily justify not going for a run while on vacation at Disney World.

I can easily justify not going for a run just about anytime. Let me know if you need any help with that. :thumbsup2

Well, I guess I'm too late for the Judy game. Your pictures on Thunder Mountain turned out great!

I'm writing down the reverse-psychology trick for future use. I wish we'd have thought of that on our trip. :sad2:

And no time for Dole Whips?! Perish the thought!

Great update, Glen.

And I can answer the question about the streamers in the tree. They are from the Castle show that appears off and on during the day and after every show they go and clean the streams out of the trees. :)

Love the pics of the kids on BTMR -- all squinting into the sun it looks like.

Anxious to hear what you thought of WCC (we went two years ago and we won't go back).

Okay, since you totally snuck this update in on me when I couldn't be on the computer and I'm sure someone has already guessed already, I will submit my guess so it isn't tainted by any others. I'm going with 7 Judy's!

Arrrgh, where do I sign up for the email notifications that glennbo has posted a TR update???? :confused3 Now MAYBE I'll go back and read........ :sad2:

I've read so many TR's where people switch resorts throughout their trip and was really unsure if I would ever like it. But, we did it in July and loved it! It was so much fun. How exciting you guys were moving over to AKL!

Ugh, I cannot believe how many people do not understand the FP system! If you pay attention to when you can get another FP, it can work to your advantage!

Love the BTMRR pics! It was like we were right there riding with you. It is such a fun ride. I can't help but laugh on it!

Aw..Parker is adorable!!!

Hey, followed you over from Captain Oblivious' TR. Really enjoying your report and the pictures. Look forward to seeing more.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaand...she's BACK! :cool2:

;)

Did you say hunchback?

Sorry, haven't used that smiley in a while and needed an excuse. :)

Hmpfff. It really does not help my position in the Judy-do game if you keep posting these updates while I am asleep!! :sad2:

Don't worry...it's entirely possible that by my records you have a commanding lead. :rolleyes1

I'm surprised there isn't a whole DIS forum dedicated to Disney conditioner.

2 out of 3 mountains, PotC, and a quick DIS-meet in about 3 hours. I guess that's about all you can accomplish on a busy summer day.

I had to laugh at the disguise you put on the woman with the band. I saw the picture first and then read the text and thought, why is this band guy holding these glasses with nose in front of her face! :rotfl:

Looking back at it, yes it does look like he's holding it to her face! That was unintentional. First I tried blurring it with a swirl, and didn't really like that, then I tried overlaying her face with flesh-tone, but that looked like a horror movie creature. Eventually I settled on the mask.

I can easily justify not going for a run just about anytime. Let me know if you need any help with that. :thumbsup2

Believe me, I don't need any help coming up with excuses. But running definitely helps improve several of my numbers when I go for a doctor visit.

Well, I guess I'm too late for the Judy game. Your pictures on Thunder Mountain turned out great!

That's one bad thing about this game, it's pretty time-sensitive. With yours, some of the trickier movie quotes can be left for readers who come along a little later.

Thank you.

I'm writing down the reverse-psychology trick for future use. I wish we'd have thought of that on our trip. :sad2:

I wish you luck! Sometimes it's just trial-and-error.

And no time for Dole Whips?! Perish the thought!

I know! It's a sin, but so is having a snack right before heading to WCC.

Great update, Glen.

And I can answer the question about the streamers in the tree. They are from the Castle show that appears off and on during the day and after every show they go and clean the streams out of the trees. :)

Thanks and thanks for the info.! Very helpful.

I wonder what those guys put on their tax return under "occupation". "Streamer Remover"? "Tree Cleaner"?

Love the pics of the kids on BTMR -- all squinting into the sun it looks like.

Anxious to hear what you thought of WCC (we went two years ago and we won't go back).

The kids all kind of looked like this ---> pirate: didn't they?

Alas, no. Sorry about the timing. :confused3

I feel guilty seeing your post...I know I must be a couple of updates behind on your TR. Yikes. I'll get over there when I can.

Yeah, I don't mind changing resorts. The only drawback in my opinion is the additional packing and unpacking. The luggage transfer and checking out/in is not a big deal at all.

Ugh, I cannot believe how many people do not understand the FP system! If you pay attention to when you can get another FP, it can work to your advantage!

I completely agree! It's one of the most important things to understand when you're vacationing at WDW. I also had a hard time explaining the photopass thing to PChef people who were going. I don't think they really got it until they had their picture cd in-hand.

Love the BTMRR pics! It was like we were right there riding with you. It is such a fun ride. I can't help but laugh on it!

Thanks. We like that ride. it's one we all enjoy.

Aw..Parker is adorable!!!

He is. If you look in on Dan's TR, Parker is always so happy.

Hey, followed you over from Captain Oblivious' TR. Really enjoying your report and the pictures. Look forward to seeing more.

:wave2: :welcome: Good to have you here afwdwfan! Make yourself at home. I'm glad that you're enjoying it...it's been a pleasure to share our trip with all who are reading along.

Alas, no. Sorry about the timing. :confused3
100% certain that isn't also her hair in the bottom left corner of the "disguised lady helping the band" photo? The hair is pulled back exactly the same way it is in the BTMRR "Judy parts" sighting, and also has the same coloring with the sunlight adding warm highlights! :)

I know the BTMRR example is more definitive since you also see the matching top Judy is wearing in other pictures, but what are the chances you get an identical hair picture so close to your camera at a totally different location in MK unless they are in your party???

That's actually not a bad guess, but I know it's not her because the rest of my family walked right by this scene while I paused and took the picture. I had to run to catch up to them after I took it.

it was weird how we kept missing each other, i think the texts were delayed because we kept going in buildings.

In this one, nobody was ready for the picture except Parker. He’s obviously been photographed a lot; he’s a pro. I don’t think my family even realized that they were in the picture.

IMG_3221.jpg
well it looks like candi was ready for the picture she was starting to lift the skirt to show some leg for you.
:sad2: im suripised that marv didnt say anything about it.

It occurred to me that if Dan and Candi had one of those celebrity-couple mash-up names, (like Bennifer or Brangelina), they’d be “Dandi”.

Anyway, Dan and Candi are a really nice couple and we’re glad that we got to meet them in person
thanks glenn it was fun meeting you as well. glad we were able to catch up with you that afternoon even if it was brief.

my grandma calls us dandi, but she also calls candi sandy. she will run through about 5 family members names before she hits the right one for people in the family.

Aw..Parker is adorable!!!
well since this was directed toward my little guy i will say thanks.
:)

He is. If you look in on Dan's TR, Parker is always so happy.
thanks for the pimp glenn.
:cool2:

:rotfl2: That was nice of you to disguise the lady doing the chicken dance/removing a wedgie (my guesses) before posting the photo. Not sure I would have done the same. pirate:

Great update! :thumbsup2

I was a victim of "boards maintenance" last night, and lost my post on here. I've had that happen one other time, while posting on Tim's thread. UGH!

Anyway, I can't even remember what I said the first time around. Just that you did quite a bit in a few short hours, and even threw in a Meet! Not too shabby.

GO, James, GO!!! I think if you can get them on once, they'll be lifers. And just think, with this one, you didn't have to resort to buying a fluffy space alien or anything. :lmao:
