That's a riot! Did you make that one too? :worship:

Yeah I did. I had made it almost 5 years ago in response to this image.

It's a long story. :rotfl2:

That's funny!!! Well, not the whole pain thing...

Summer in south Florida really makes me wish that head bands would come back in style. Ok. Not really.

Hey, I gotta work in the TR title every now and then.

That was a funny scene in the movie, but out of context it looks kind of scary.

When I wrote the last chapter, I noticed that in some of the pictures there was a guy in the audience with a head band on. Except for the fashion faux pas, it might be a good idea!

Here's one from the TR that shows him pretty well:

Poop! Looks like I just missed you online. That's what I get for typing and posting an update. :sad2:

Wow! You have to be really confident of your coolness factor to wear those! My coolness factor is not up to wearing that in public.

I loved your pictures. I feel like I just sat through the show. I haven't seen it for a few years and your pics brought it all rushing back. Great job - especially the jeep explosion.

I think its hotter in that theatre than it is just walking around the park. that's probably why I never go see that show in the summer. Just too dang hot. I rather chill in One Man's Dream while my touring buddies are sweating it out in there.

I wasn't on that long last night.

It was worth it...that was a funny update! Wait a minute, you wrote that? I thought Tate did.

Cool confidence. :cool2: Maybe he brought it just for that show. If so, that is one prepared park warrior.

Thanks! Part-way through I remembered to put the camera on continuous shooting mode, so when the Jeep explosion started I just held the shutter down. I actually have a few more pictures of it, but they're so similar to the ones I included in the TR that I culled them out.

I didn't realize that ahead of time...I guess I didn't do enough homework. :surfweb:

Hey, are you going to the DC Meet? Sunday, August 29. Meeting in Bethesda for lunch, metro to the mall for some sight-seeing, dinner back in Bethesda. Me, Liesa (All7OfUs), Jenbear123 and her sister Bubba, Brook and hubby and Henry, Rosie and Tracy...others?

Morning Glen !!!If Liessa starts asking where we are please remind her I have to work !!!:lmao::lmao:

Good morning! I'm taking a vacation day today, so I probably won't be on here as much. :lmao:

Tate had a little help. Remember in Toy Story? The dinosaur's arms being a little short? Yeah, Tate's a little keyboard challenged.

Rob (My_Pal_Pluto) is aslo coming with a friend, as well as praisehisname (Denise and her 2 teen daughters) Should be fun, fun, fun. Tate's peeved he can't come.

Thanks for completing the list. I'll bet Tate's peeved.

Liesa's not bringing Tate to the meet?

:scared1:

Very cool that Rob will be there! Did I miss his TR coming back to life?

Day 2 - Part 6

After we’d satisfied our jonesing for some Indy movie action, we exited the theater. On the way out, Judy told me that Marlene was really hot and we needed to find some place for her to cool off. We also needed a bathroom break so I suggested the restrooms that are directly across from the exit. We hung out at the water fountains there for a couple of minutes. They’re not exactly “inside” since it’s an open doorway there where the water fountains are, but they’re covered and the water from the fountains was actually cold so we filled our water bottles. It was about 2:30 and Judy, Marlene, and James were hot, tired, and ready to go back to the resort. Lauren and I wanted to stay since we still had a nice stash of fastpasses and hadn’t been on any thrill rides yet. So, we decided to split up – Judy would take the younger kids back to the resort (but return in time for Hyperspace Hoopla at 7) and Lauren and I would stay at the park.

Lauren and I started walking to nowhere in particular for a few steps, but then I thought “Hey, the Great Movie Ride would be just the ticket right now”. It’s cool, you sit down, and we had never been on it before. Yep, this will be my first time.

On the way, I saw a couple more mega-Star Wars fans.

IMG_2769.jpg

I had no idea who in the Star Wars universe they were supposed to be, but when they stopped and talked to these people in the picture below, I heard them say something about Hyperspace Hoopla. But now I was a little confused…because surely they couldn’t be cast members walking around the park with backpacks and bags. Hmmm. :confused3

IMG_2770.jpg

As we went through the line for The Great Movie ride, I took a couple pictures of the movie artifacts they have. This is Queen Elizabeth’s robe from “Shakespeare in Love”.

IMG_2771.jpg

And a costume from “The Chronicles of Narnia”.

IMG_2774.jpg

A carousel horse from “Mary Poppins”.

IMG_2775.jpg

Then the queue ran through the theater and we saw some famous movie clips. Here’s the Duke, undoubtedly making a new friend.

IMG_2776.jpg

Eventually we boarded and were off on our Great Movie Ride. popcorn::

IMG_2777.jpg

Mary Poppins.

IMG_2780.jpg

Then a gangster highjacked us. In this first picture I thought he was just another mannequin, but I guess that’s what you’re supposed to think. Lauren said she knew he was real.

IMG_2782.jpg

John Wayne.

IMG_2786.jpg

Alien.

IMG_2788.jpg

Raiders of the Lost Ark.

IMG_2790.jpg

“Snakes. Why’d it have to be snakes?”

IMG_2793.jpg

The end of our highjacker.

IMG_2794.jpg

Here’s Jane, from Tarzan and Jane fame. From the Tarzan movies I learned that if you need an elephant to do anything, all you have to say is “Oongawa”. For anything – bring me a tree trunk, untie Boy and I, …get off my foot. That could be pretty handy information, so file that one away people.

IMG_2795.jpg

What were the words from this famous Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman scene? Was it was “pork schops and apple schause”?

IMG_2796.jpg

And finally, a few pictures from Munchkinland.

IMG_2797.jpg

IMG_2799.jpg

IMG_2800.jpg

IMG_2802.jpg

So, what did we think of it? It was nice…fine…good…okay. Not a must-do, but it fit the bill on a hot afternoon, and we enjoyed it. And since Judy and the younger kids didn’t go on it, we’ll probably have to do it next time so they can see it.

Partway through the ride I got a text from Judy (and realized that I had missed one a few minutes earlier, oops, that almost never happens!). The first one was at 3:05 and it said, “No bus yet. Still waiting in the heat.” Then at 3:11, “We finally have a bus”. So, they had to wait for about a half an hour, and there were people already waiting when she had gotten to the bus stop. She learned from the driver that he was the only one assigned to Coronado Springs that afternoon. She was not very happy. They probably should have come with us on “The Great Cooling Ride”.

Wow! The list has really extended since I last checked in! Denise (praisehisname) is coming?! Must've missed that one! There's going to be quite a few fine folks coming along that I've spoken to on here. :thumbsup2

:rotfl2: Never fails. I am on here more when I'm at work than on my days off. :rolleyes1

Great pictures from the Great Movie Ride! They're actually not all blurry. I can never get decent pictures during that ride.

Up next: Going coconuts

Nice update. Unfortunately after you've done The Great Movie Ride a couple of times, you realize how much it needs an update of some sort.

Although we were in Disney for a Star Wars Weekend, we didn't go to one. I've never seen the movies (*gasp* I know) so it doesn't matter to us. But I think the park guests wandering around would have been really entertaining in their costumes! I'd never heard of "Hyperspace Hoopla" until now, so I googled it. Sounds like a fun time. I agree about the Great Movie Ride. It's not a must do, but nice if you have extra time. I rode it twice on our 2007 trip, and so wasn't heartbroken when I didn't get to it this trip. That is so wrong that there was only one bus driver for Coronado Springs that day. I'm glad Judy, James, and Marlene didn't have to wait *too* long for a bus, though 30 minutes in the heat is definitely no picnic! Loved the Indy Jones pun, too.

It was about 2:30 and Judy, Marlene, and James were hot, tired, and ready to go back to the resort. So, we decided to split up – Judy would take the younger kids back to the resort (but return in time for Hyperspace Hoopla at 7) and Lauren and I would stay at the park.

That was about all we could last in that park as well. Even with a few cooling rides along the way the young kids just pooped out.

On the way, I saw a couple more mega-Star Wars fans.

I can't believe someone dressed as the emcees of Hyperspace Hoopla! :rotfl: Man those are dedicated fans!

As we went through the line for The Great Movie ride, I took a couple pictures of the movie artifacts they have.

I love movie memorabilia and props so my enjoyment of the Great Movie Ride and Backstage Lot was probably higher than the rest of the family.

Then the queue ran through the theater and we saw some famous movie clips. Here’s the Duke, undoubtedly making a new friend.

"No, I'm not gonna hit ya. Like hell I'm not." Pow!

Eventually we boarded and were off on our Great Movie Ride. popcorn::

Then a gangster highjacked us. In this first picture I thought he was just another mannequin, but I guess that’s what you’re supposed to think. Lauren said she knew he was real.

Our hijacker was a cowboy from the old west town. I guess it can change from tour to tour?

What were the words from this famous Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman scene? Was it was “pork schops and apple schause”?

I always liked “Things are never so bad they can't be made worse.”

So, what did we think of it? It was nice…fine…good…okay. Not a must-do, but it fit the bill on a hot afternoon, and we enjoyed it. And since Judy and the younger kids didn’t go on it, we’ll probably have to do it next time so they can see it.

I found it to be the same. For a first timer like me it was pretty good. Not really a repeat ride.

Ain't it always the truth! :rolleyes1 Our second attempt at DHS had the same thing happen. Madison and I rode Tower of Terror while everyone else headed back to the Poly. The bus ended up taking them to Wilderness Lodge! I ended up arriving only minutes after the rest of the family. :headache:

Up next: Going coconuts

I dunno. :confused3 If it has anything to do with this then I'm going to have to pass.
