The Moist Exhausting Free Trip Ever - Link to Part II Thread pg. 244

Thanks for explaining the Pepper Market ordering system. I never really understood it, but I know its supposed to be a great way to us a CS credit. I would love to eat there one of these days.

Glad I could help explain it. I think it'd be a good use of a CS credit.

Your kids are really cute and they look REALLY hungry!!!!!

Thanks! They sure were on that particular day. I usually get some leftovers, but not then!

Wow that pizza looked so YUMMY, it's no wonder your daughter wanted a piece of it. The Peppermarket looks like a fun place to eat. And the dining system sounds like something I would like, easier when you are balancing a tray with food and hungry kids, then go back to pay when they are settled. :)

Your son is adorable, did he survive without getting stabbed by the toothpick?

Can't wait to see what happens next

Thanks! Yes, he was able to avoid the toothpick. We have some good stories in store, further ahead.

Jordan also gets GASSY from almost anything or nothing!!!!:rotfl2::rotfl2:What is more he is PROUD of it !!!!:lmao:

Oh I know! That's pretty much true of any guy.

Not a fan of tomatoes, but I do like ketchup!

Ba dum bum!

Might have to try that when I go down there.

Sounds like we've got a game to look forward to when your TR rolls around.

Dangit, I was sooooo close!

Haven't you ever noticed that the practice rounds are always waaaay easier than the actual game?

About as far away as another place in SC can be. There is really no good way for me to get there, so it takes about 5.5 to 6 hours to get there.

Okay. I know you told me, but I couldn't remember what part of SC you were in.

I liked the Pepper Market too. Tyler and I ate there....well, Tyler got lunch there after we checked in and I sat and drank in the atmosphere, took pictures and was bidding my time because I knew we were going to eat in a couple of hours at WPE. I DID however get a dessert to tide me over. :rolleyes1 And it was really good. If Glenn doesn't mind me posting some pics I can show you what we got to eat and what pics I got of the Pepper Market. Your pics were much more lively than mine Glenn, when we were there it was like a ghost town. The time of the year you go really makes a difference!

Oh yes! Please post your pictures. I was kind of disappointed that I didn't take more of the Pepper Market. I think I thought that I'd get back there, but didn't.

You have every reason to be excited!!! CSR is a very beautiful resort and the Pepper Market is pretty and the food isn't to bad....considering it's a CS I think you get your money's worth! :)

I'll have more Coronado Springs pictures in later installments....

Hey Glenn! Been so busy I almost missed this! Going back to read now...

Rebecca!!! I've been hoping you'd find us! :welcome:

Looking forward to your comments!

CHOCOLATE?!!? :hyper: Now you're talking! But about customs... I think they'll let you bring drinks as long as it's in your checked bag. I've brought back a bottle of wine from Italy and was fine :confused3

I have no idea about customs rules. :confused3

I've learnt that Orange Fanta is not the same in North America as it is in Europe. It tastes entirely different. I'll still give that recipe a try though :thumbsup2 I can't imagine mixing anything into my beer :scared:

If there was any doubt that you were a true Canadian, you just removed all doubt!

Someone said somewhere in the banter that paying at the end means the food is hot when you get it and not standing in line to pay with your food getting cold.....NOW i get it......;)

Also did you say it only counts as a CS meal?

I do want to try the Peppermarket someday...the food just looks good! I'll take one of those pizzas, please...yuuummmm...

I think my little one would do what your girls were doing if he was a little bigger...he's a major mooch. No one's plate is safe with him around!

:yay: Also, you can go back and grab something else and not have to go to the register again (because you haven't been to the register yet).

Also did you say it only counts as a CS meal?

I wasn't on the dining plan, but I believe that is correct.

"Major Mooch" sounds like a good nickname.

Gotta love that.

Thank you for the info. Now if I can just store that in a brain cell that won't die before I get a chance to stay there.

Really? Not even tomato juice?

:crazy2: I don't even like tomato juice to begin with so putting it in a beer just would not go over well....

I have no idea about customs rules. :confused3

Really? Well get to work Glen! I expect a full report on all U.S. custom rules by 6am tomorrow morning :rotfl:

If there was any doubt that you were a true Canadian, you just removed all doubt!

Really? I didn't realize not wanting to mix anything with my beer would be a dead give away. I was thinking more along the lines of a constant "Eh?" at the end of all my sentences. But hey, learn something new every day. No doot aboot it eh? :rotfl2:

I just spent an hour reading your first trip report and I can't wait for the next installment of this one. We took our 21 month old son and 7 year old daughter (and my parents) in April. It was hard work! Since my dh (who doesn't travel well) immediately started talking about "when we go back"...I planned an anniversary trip the first week of August for just the two of us. He's been reading over my shoulder about the food and parks and he's enjoyed your travelogue as much as I! Thanks!

Glad I could help explain it. I think it'd be a good use of a CS credit.

I wasn't on the dining plan, but I believe that is correct.

I'd say if the portions are normal-sized, but rather expensive, then being on the DDP and having them count as a CS credit would be a good thing. More bang for your buck. But me thinks they are small-ish since there weren't any leftovers for poor starving Glenn.

No doot aboot it eh? :rotfl2:

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

I'd heard it was CS too, which would make it a good deal. IF you were on the plan.

Hey a new game.....Where is Judy-do? After that one, I'm coining a new phrase.......He has eyes like a glennbo!

Hey, I found her in this one!!! I must have eyes like a......... never mind.

:lmao:

Cool! Come to glenn's TR and not only get entertained, but free German lessons! :thumbsup2

Well, I got the impression that the word you would want to know is "Bier" which is pronounced like "beer" (very easy to remember!) - but be warned, this is a drink which contains alcohol. It is made with water, hops and malt (and nothing else!).

I brought a gugelhupf cake through customs in 2006. I told the customs agent and he said, "Let me see it." Then he was like "get outta here".

I am impressed! :thumbsup2

I am not a fan of Fanta, so I never tried it in North America. Actually Fanta was invented in Germany, quoting this from Wikipedia:

"Fanta originated when a trading ban was placed on Nazi Germany by the Allies during World War II. The Coca-Cola GmbH, therefore was not able to import the syrup needed to produce Coca-Cola in Germany. As a result, Max Keith, the man in charge of Coca-Cola's operations in Germany during the Second World War, decided to create a new product for the German market, using only ingredients available in Germany at the time, including whey and pomace – the "leftovers of leftovers", as Keith later recalled. The name was the result of a brief brainstorming session, which started with Keith exhorting his team to "use their imagination" ("Fantasie" in German), to which one of his salesmen, Joe Knipp, immediately retorted "Fanta!"."

I think Fanta today must taste different than what they brewed from whey and pomace... :scared:

Really? Not even tomato juice?

Beer and tomato juice???? Do people really drink that???

Beer and tomato juice???? Do people really dring that???

Good Lord, I hope NOT! That sounds vile! :scared1: Then again, the first person who tried to scoop the brain out of a sheep head and eat it, may have thought the same thing. :confused3

Thanks for the history of Fanta Flossbolna! Now this has me thinking I want to compare the two! I'll see if I can find a Fanta to purchase after security at the airport. Oh I hope they do. Does anyone know if they have Fanta at O'hare???

Okay, now you're just messing with me. But it was totally believable.
see i am very convincing

i do like how your kids are not too cool to participate in stuff and make themselves look silly...(like at the show)

good job with them glenn.
ohh and good job with them judy as well.
:thumbsup2
Eww. No! A lime is the extent of it.
i would never do the tomato juice in there,

lime that beer glenn.

I wasn't on the dining plan, but I believe that is correct.
yep it is a CS, my parents used it on our second week when we went to the water park.

they loved it.

:welcome: Elianor!!!

And that was your first post! :dance3:

Thank you for reading and joining in!

I just spent an hour reading your first trip report and I can't wait for the next installment of this one.

One hour? It took me way longer than that to write it. Well, you get :worship: for reading it.

We took our 21 month old son and 7 year old daughter (and my parents) in April. It was hard work!

Parents can be hard work.

Since my dh (who doesn't travel well) immediately started talking about "when we go back"...I planned an anniversary trip the first week of August for just the two of us. He's been reading over my shoulder about the food and parks and he's enjoyed your travelogue as much as I! Thanks!

Those are some of the 4 sweetest words in the English language -- "when we go back".

I've never done a "just the two of us" trip, but would love to. That's part of the reason we bought into DVC -- we realized that we would like to go to WDW by ourselves, so if the kids "outgrow" it or get tired of it, we'll just go ourselves!

I'm so glad to hear that your husband has been enjoying my trip report also. Encourage him to get a screen-name and join in. Do we need a contest to come up with a screen-name for him? First entry: "OverShoulderReader"

Gotta love that.

Thank you for the info. Now if I can just store that in a brain cell that won't die before I get a chance to stay there.

Pick a good one!

:crazy2: I don't even like tomato juice to begin with so putting it in a beer just would not go over well....

Really? Well get to work Glen! I expect a full report on all U.S. custom rules by 6am tomorrow morning :rotfl:

Dang. Missed my deadline already.

Really? I didn't realize not wanting to mix anything with my beer would be a dead give away. I was thinking more along the lines of a constant "Eh?" at the end of all my sentences. But hey, learn something new every day. No doot aboot it eh? :rotfl2:

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

No, they weren't smallish. My kids' appetites were biggish.

I'd heard it was CS too, which would make it a good deal. IF you were on the plan.

Exactly!

Well, I got the impression that the word you would want to know is "Bier" which is pronounced like "beer" (very easy to remember!) - but be warned, this is a drink which contains alcohol. It is made with water, hops and malt (and nothing else!).

Now that's one german word I already knew. :thumbsup2

I am impressed! :thumbsup2

Not a very good smuggler though.

I am not a fan of Fanta, so I never tried it in North America. Actually Fanta was invented in Germany, quoting this from Wikipedia:

"Fanta originated when a trading ban was placed on Nazi Germany by the Allies during World War II. I did not know that! Thanks!

Beer and tomato juice???? Do people really drink that???

I don't think so. I mean, I hope not!

Good Lord, I hope NOT! That sounds vile! :scared1: Then again, the first person who tried to scoop the brain out of a sheep head and eat it, may have thought the same thing. :confused3

There are a lot of things that you could ask, "who was the first person, and what on earth possessed them, to try that?!"

Thanks for the history of Fanta Flossbolna! Now this has me thinking I want to compare the two! I'll see if I can find a Fanta to purchase after security at the airport. Oh I hope they do. Does anyone know if they have Fanta at O'hare???

Don't know. Looking forward to your report back on it though! :rotfl2:

Yep-as long as it doesn't change too much for 2011!

Thanks! I am really looking forward to staying there!

I think it usually stays the same pretty much.

see i am very convincing

i do like how your kids are not too cool to participate in stuff and make themselves look silly...(like at the show)

I don't know where they get that from....we're pretty straight-laced.

good job with them glenn.
ohh and good job with them judy as well.
:thumbsup2

Thanks, and nice recovery.

i would never do the tomato juice in there,

lime that beer glenn.

I had a feeling this lime beer subject would come up again.

yep it is a CS, my parents used it on our second week when we went to the water park.

they loved it.

Good to hear.

I was thinking the same thing. Doesn't sound good to me. I haven't drank beer in years but thing I would like it best without any thing added.

I agree!
