This isn't a Disney Restaurant, but I wonder if anyone has been there and can give me a report. It is a fondue/wine restaurant located on Sand Lake Road off of Route 4E. Can anyone report???? Thanks!!!!!!!

I have not been to the one in Orlando, but we have two in Charlotte, NC and I really like it. It is not somewhere we go all of the time though. Just anniversaries. I really like the cheese and I really like the dessert. To me the main meal is just ok. But we also choose to get the lighter cooking broth which may make a difference. It also takes a while because you have to wait on your entree to cook. We are usually there 2 hours or so. But overall I like it and will go again (probably our next anniversary).

We love the Melting Pot. We usually go twice a year as it is pretty pricey but well worth it in my opinion. The one on Sandlake is very nice, one of my favorite that I have been to. The interior set up has some rather private tables as well as some that are in a more open setting. We generally do the Fondue for 2 which you get the cheese first, a salad, the entree (we usually choose the co au von (sp?) broth) and chocolate. As was stated it is a time consuming adventure so make sure you have no plans afterwards.

I have been to the one in Indianapolis and the one in Chicago...I love it.....its a great date place....the meal takes a long time....so its a great place for conversations..... and the last time we were there, 2 meals with drinks was over $90

How far from Disney (Epcot area) is the Melting Pot?

My husband and I have planned weekend trips simply based on if they had a Melting Pot or not....Nashville, Richmond, Myrtle Beach, Greensboro, Raleigh....

Is it feasible to take a cab from the Yacht Club?

We aso love the Melting Pot. For a dinner for 2, the bill is around $100, so we only go on special occasions. It is wonderful .. from the cheese fondue to start, to the main course, to the dessert fondue.

There are several of each to chose from and they will mix and match. For instance, we don't like the duck that comes with the dinner we get, so they let us have more filet instead.

The hardest part is deciding on which dessert to get. Even if you are full, there is always room for chocolate fondue!

Thanks for your replies - this sounds like something DD would really love!!!

In response to the question about the distance from Epcot Center - have you even been to Universal? The exit for Sand Lake Road is before the Universal exit. I don't know how much that would cost by cab - just say it is a pretty good ride. Might be worth it considering how special everyone says this place is - but considering the cost, it might just be too much if you have to take a cab too.

We just had dinner at the one in Nashville on Friday night! We had the "Big Night Out" which is 4 courses and is $68 without lobster and $88 with. We got it without lobster and substituted the rest of the seafood and a bottle of wine, tax, tip and total is was $142.

We love the Melting Pot, definitely a good date restaurant, but also good with friends.

The Melting Pot, "because Fondue is FUN-DO!" (LOL, that is a line from That 70's show, it just cracks me up! But then again, I'm easily amused!)

Yes, we've been to others, ours definitley has a unique feel to it. There is a lot of history to those old buildings and their sub-floors!

I can't speak about the one on Sand Lake, but the one off of 436 is fabulous. It is now right at I4 and in a larger building. The food is as good as ever (Does anyone else buy the Garlic and Wine seasoning to take home?)

We always get the 3 cheese fondue and usually the fondue for 2 in the light broth and then the chocolate fondue for dessert.

We are going for a quick trip to FL in Nov, and DW and I will be dining at the Melting Pot.

I bet you could just plug in the two addresses (yacht club and the restaurant) in mapquest and get an idea on distance. you could def take a cab, if need be.

haven't done melting pot in orlando, but have in dallas as a special anniversary dinner (too expensive for everyday!) and we love it =) YUM YUM

My 12 year old DS loves fondue. Would this be an appropriate place for children? What would be the average cost for 1 adults and 2 children? Do you each get separate "meals" or does everyone in the party share together?

Thanks!

I have seen children at every Melting Pot I have ever been to. It is a romatic type restaurant, but people do bring their children. I have never been to the one in Orlando so I can not specifically say if it is appropriate or not.

I am not exactly sure what the cost would be for 1 adult and 2 children. You can either order items separately or as a meal that includes cheese, entree and dessert. The only thing is that the prices are determined by number of people usually and there is no childrens menu. I am sure they would probably work with you on ordering. Go to the name of the restaurant dot com and find your location and it will display the menu/prices which will better explain what I'm trying to say! :)

www.meltingpot.com it gives a list of all the restaurants. You can pull up the menu/prices for each individual restaurant.

We LOVE The Melting Pot. Reservations are recommended.

I won a 35.00 certificate through ibidusa which after looking at the menu won't make a dent in the price, lol.

There will be 3 of us, our son is 15 and eats like an adult. It looks like the fondues are all for 2 people other than the combo one offered but I'm not crazy about the desert in that combo. Anyone go with 3 people? Is there a 3 person fondue?

thanks

Every time we have EVER been they have offered the "Big Night Out". It is a per person charge and includes all 4 courses. They have suggestions for each course but you can customize it completely. For two people it's $68, so for three people it should be around $102. If for some reason they don't offer it, ask about it I'm sure they will give it to you. Then you just have to agree what to get for each course as you will share the fondue pot. Everyone does get to choose their own salad though.

We went to the one on Sand lake Rd last May and even though we enjoyed the meal, we thought it abit overpriced. It was about a 30 minute drive from OKW.
