We've gone a handful of times to 3 different locations, and we like it. Its not something you want to do all the time, but it is nice for a special occasion.
I think it is fairly priced. If DH and I went to a mid-level chain steakhouse and got salad, appetizer, entree and dessert, we would surely spend the same amount.
As far as it being bland and sub-par quality food, I've never found that to be the case, and I've eaten in several 5 diamond restaurants in the past year. We actually went last weekend, and the lobster was very good quality. The filet was very tender and flavorful. The fruit was very fresh. That's about all I can ask for.
They give you so many sauces I can't understand it being bland. DH and I are foodies, and we have fun mixing and matching the sauces with the different types of meat. Oh, and mixing different sauces together to create new sauces. Fun, try it next time.
That being said, I don't understand people who get the oil for cooking instead of the flavored broth/wines. I once went with a couple who got chicken with the oil, and it came with some sort of batter to dip the chicken in. They essentially were making very expensive chicken mcnuggets!
We like that they don't rush you in the slightest. You can eat and talk at your own pace. VERY IMPORTANT when you have young children at home!
