FYI, the west palm beach location is on restaurant.com. so you can get a $25.00 GC for there for $10, even less if you get it on a sale day (sometiems as low as $3)

i really like melting pot, but it's SO dark in there, and my dh has vision problems so we don't go. with the GC, i might just take my dd soon!

We LOVE The Melting Pot!!!

I think that for a first-timer, you should do the whole deal...salad, cheese, meat, and chocolate. But we have decided that when we go next, we're going to try just the cheese and chocolate courses. We just leave there STUFFED to the gills, and almost feeling miserable from all of the food!!

But the atmosphere is absolutely WONDERFUL!!! The really cool thing is that it can be perfect for a romantic night out, or a fun night with a group. Either way, it's always good to go with a group whose company you enjoy, because you generally will make a whole evening of it. But like Beth76 said, just relax and enjoy the experience.

On a side note, some of the things folks here have said about smelling bad when you leave, dirty windows, etc...I don't know if the ones here in St. Louis are just nicer then the ones you've been to or what, but I've never experienced anything less than a really great night out at a wonderful restaurant...I can't wait to go back!

It is my FAVORITE restaurant outside of any of them at Walt Disney World. Which one are you going to Chestnut Hill, Center City of King of Prussia? My favorite is Chestnut Hill, just love the area and walking the street before dinner.

It is a fun dinner because it takes a while and its not rushed. I get the emails all the time about the Girls Night Out but never have anyone to go with. Plus my DH and DS love it that if I went without them I would be in trouble!

We always get the Fiesta Cheese, I get the Chef Salad, DH gets Mushroom Salad, we get the Traditional Fondue with the Court Boullion cooking style and the Smores Chocolate Fondue. I am so glad that these are not closer to me because it would be costing us a fortune. We go about twice a year.

I do so love The Melting Pot, but their salads leave much to be desired. And it is rather expensive. It's pretty much an anniversary only dinner for myself and DH.

Has anyone been? I'm going to a girl's night out tonight to The Melting Pot and was just curious what to expect. I know it's fondue but that's about it. I'm normally a very picky eater so this should be interesting

I will never step foot in a melting pot again. I was against it from the start but DW and her friends wanted to go.

it cost us $120 for the both of us. We had to cook our own food which took 3 to 4 minutes for each small piece of beef, chicken or seafood and I was starving when I left the restaurant

I went across the street to McDonalds when we left because I was still so hungry.

We LOVE the Melting Pot! We don't go often (don't take kids) it is a bit expensive and it does take a long time to eat there but it is fun! The first time I went was for a girls night - it was nice to be in a relaxed atmosphere where we felt like we could sit and talk rather than being rushed through a meal.
When DH and I go we get the 3 course meal -cheese fondue, salad, and meat platter, thrn you MUST MUST get dessert!!

Dh and I went for our anniversary this past year, I had been begging him to take me, and I had a coupon for a free dessert fondue.

It was actually pretty good, it took us a while to get the hang of cooking while we were eating, though. We got the Big Night Out with the coq au vin, and ordered two salads as well. I won't order salads again, it was too much. I forget what cheese we ordered, but it was the 'special' that night. We had the chocolate and caramel dessert fondue.

I thought it was fun, DH hated it. I think it cost $90 with the tip, I had a cocktail before dinner.

The only drawback as far as I was concerned? We both got SPLITTING headaches about midway into the meat course. I was thinking, this place is a migraine sufferers' nightmare! Cheese, wine (in the broth to cook the meat) and chocolate?!? Just something to think about.

Thanks everyone!!! Apparently, this is a special Girl's Night out promotion. It's $30 and I think my cousin said cheese and dessert... she didn't mention about any other "courses".

Now that you mention that, I remember seeing that promotion the last time we were there. I had completley forgotten. Now, I'll have to get off my butt and plan a girls night! Oh try the Ying Yang drink---it's awesome!

I agree that both of our locations I've found to be very neat and clean. However, I do have a friend who is bothered by the smell after she leaves. It doesn't stop her from enjoying the night, but she won't bring her jacket into the restaurant.

I tried it for the first time, last month. I also went with a group for girls night out. We went the night they do the special. I think Wednesday nights? Anyway, I liked the cheese fondue and the dessert. They could keep the rest, in my opinion. There was something gross about having raw meat right there next to me Boiling it didn't do it for me either. Anyway, enjoy your night, and let us know how you liked it

Oh yeah, sorry. I forgot about that. You could probably order it without the alcohol. But definitely recommend it to your friends. It's delicious. My friend really loves the chocolate martini too.

The thought of an entire meal of cooking it and then dipping it in fondue grosses me out.

I have mixed feelings about this restaurant. I enjoyed the cheese and chocolate fondues, but the meat took too long to cook and our potatoes never did cook. We had them in the whole time and they were still raw even after eating our meat. DH did not like having to cook his own food, hello, where do you think you are dining. If I went again, I would just get the cheese and the dessert fondues and leave DH home.

It just opened a few months ago. It's right across the street from the Court (where Pier1 Imports is). They opened a whole new section of stores there. Not sure where the one in Chestnut Hill is... I'm guessing somewhere on Germantown Ave??
