The meltdown has begun!!

We will be heading to Disney arriving late on April 9th and checking out on the 18th. I originally made reservations at Celebrity Resorts Orlando for the 11th through 17th (with a good deal from Undercover Tourist we ended up with 7 day tix instead of 5). We stayed here last year and had a great experience so we decided to go back. Well due to some financial issues, I failed to add the 3 nights to our reservation but kept checking and there was plenty of availability. Until today!! We can no longer get our 3br villa for Friday night!! My mom wants us to come to her house in Jacksonville and just head to Orlando Saturday morning. I don't like this idea for a couple of reason. I plan to be at MK at about 7:30 on Saturday morning, I was planning to use Friday to enjoy the pool, grocery shop and hang out at DTD. So now I have to find somewhere to stay for 2 nights which is a pain because that means we'll have to unpack and repack and my parents will be arriving Friday so that is a total of 9 people!!!

I am searching for vacation homes but obviously that week is sold out virtually everywhere. We were only paying about $100-$110 a night at CR and I really need to stay somewhere in that price range. If I could find somewhere for the week, I'd be happy to cancel CR but so far have come up with nothing.

Any ideas???

Try www.homeway.com. I plugged in your dates and there are places available. You will probably get a better price if you stay in Davenport rather than Kissimmee, but there was availability for both.

If you choose to find a hotel for a couple of days, then I would suggest Comfort Suites Main Gate East. They had rooms for $89 including tax through hotelmartusa.com. It is a nice hotel. The rooms sleep 6 and you will get free deluxe continental breakfast with pastries, fruit, yogurt, make your own waffles... Don't wait too long for anything, book ASAP.

Thanks Amy! I have been searching and sending inquiries for the past 2 hours now! LOL I have even gotten a reply on a possible rental for a great price! I kept reminding myself that when 1 door closes, another opens.

I put in the criteria for what we were looking for at the last minute in February, and ended up finding a great villa at a great price. I liked that the owners contact you instead of you hitting your head against the wall with finding places that have occupancy available.

I would try Ken Price to find out what the cheapest price is that he can get you for Bonnet Creek. You should be able to do a search here and find his information.

Have you tried the listings for off-site accommodations on WDWInfo -- I was especially thinking about Dreams Villas, which would be big enough for all of you.

This may be one of those times when a TA would be really helpful -- I'm quite sure that Dreams Unlimited would be know where to get you something quickly.

I spoke with him in January and he seems really nice to deal with. The only reason we didn't go with him is we were only staying 4 nts over a weekend and the price was a bit steep. He admitted the best bargain is when you stay a full week since Fri & Sat nights are most expensive for him to get and he has to pay a fee to have me be able to check in as his "guest." This makes my avg price per night high.

I would consider him for future stays or even for Williamsburg or Myrtle Beach. He can get any Wyndam resort.

Pictures I've seen of BC look beautiful! Ds was loving views of that pool and lazy river!

Thank you all so much for the info! I recieved quite a few replied from homeaway.com and we are going with this one www.disneysunbreezevilla.com It is the Shire.
It looks so nice! we were able to get a good deal since it is next week and they had a cancellation but wanted it filled. I actually found a couple that were cheaper but this had the gameroom, grill and TVs in the bedroom (always a great treat for the kids when we're on vacation. Dh feels the grill is easily worth an extra $100 a week, though I said we could have brought our small portable one for free. The owners have been great to work with so far. I will be sure to update once we get there and let you know if it is all that I hope it will be.

Pack 2 bags. One for your big trip and one for your 2 night stay. We do it all the time. I.E. if we go on a cruise, we'll pack an overnight bag for the stay at the hotel, and then have our big bags for the cruise and leave the others in the car.
