Meery Christmas to you also and thanks for the pdf!! Have a great trip!

Our family is on the August repositioning cruise. We made reservations at an aparthotel, but it is expensive and I'm still looking for reasonable accommodations for a family of four. We have airfare over (but not home just yet) and are in the process of looking through the excursions, and deciding whether to use the Disney excursions or not. Thanks to everyone for the links to hotels and transportation.

Is there an excursions forum yet? Should there be? I think it would be a good place for people to exchange information, ideas, etc about these side trips. What do you think?

I don't know about everyone else, but I am having a hard time deciding which excursions to take, there are to many choices. :confused3

We booked our hotel in Spain with Disney. We are staying in the Barcelona Hilton the 3 of us for $380.00 a night. Last Friday, I got a call from Disney, that the 3 of us can't share one room, (only 2 to a room) they want the 3rd person to get there own room for another $350.00 :scared1:

I booked my hotel through Marriott. It is the Renaissance hotel at the airport. Aout $115 per room for up to 3 people. It is about 6 miles from the town so if you don't mind a short ride, it is a great hotel.

There are four of us so we booked two rooms at the Renaissance Barcelona Airport Hotel for $85 euros each (US $112) per night, but that doesn't include taxes (not sure how much that will be). We booked through the Marriott reservations phone number, but afterward saw it could be booked online for the same price. It's rated as a 4-Star hotel and looks very, very nice. It also has a free shuttle to/from the airport and is supposed to be only 9 miles from the port. I know rooms are still available at that price because we just booked ours last night around midnight. They also had a 2-bedroom suite available that sleeps 5 for $270 euros (US $357). Good luck!

Ok Deb T, I just went online to Hotels.com booked Renaissance Barcelona Airport
Parc De Negocis Mas Blau I S
BARCELONA 08820
Spain with free shuttle from the airport.

We are staying in the Deluxe room with breakfast for
$109.11 euro. which comes to $144.13 US dollars.

Now, I have to call triple AAA on Tuesday, & cancel the Hilton and have them credit my credit card.

I am sure we can get a taxi to take us to the port on Saturday.

Thank you Deb T for all of your help. I am so happy. We saved so much by doing this hotel.

Happy New Year

Have you asked for a different hotel? We originally had to get two rooms at the Hilton Diagonal Mar because they said they had a maximum of three people per room and there will be four of us. I recently called in and got upgraded to a suite that will sleep all four of us, and we were able to cancel one room. Online, it says the suite has a maximum of three but DCL assured me they could handle all four of us in it.

Hi

When I called Disney about a hotel, Disney said there was none, I was put on a waiting list.

When Disney called, my triple a agent, last Friday with a Hotel, they said, they only had the Hilton available, and the Hilton would only allow 2 per room. My DD is only 12 I couldn't believe they wouldn't let 3 people in a room 2 adults & one child.

We booked the 2 rooms with triple AAA agent for $350 each & paid visa. Since I found this other great deal I am worried, that triple A doesn't give us a hard time about canceling.

I wanted to go thru Disney because of the transportation to the hotel & port. With the money we are saving, we can take a taxi to the port & use the hotel shuttle to the hotel.

Anyone else have a problems with the 2 people hotel limit?

Patricia

We're staying at the Atenea Mar, and we booked some time last week. I guess availability is going to depend on which cruise you're on. The other hotels available would have been more expensive. I think it's $270 a night.

We thought about staying at a Marriott property (with our rewards points, it would be nearly free), but we wanted to stick with the Disney transfers. They'll handle transport from the airport to hotel and from the hotel to the port and back again. Plus, we're arriving two days early and leaving two days after, and they'll do transport on any day. With as many bags as we have, taxis are often a problem. And cars tend to be smaller in Europe, so we'll stick with Disney transportation. It should also be easier if we do any pre/post excursions through them since there's a cruise desk in each hotel

They've added those pre/post packages to the website under Barcelona excursions.

And yes, 2 per room is a common (and frustrating) occurrence in Europe. Some hotels will allow for a rollaway for the third person, but it's not like the US where many rooms have 2 beds.

I used booking.com to find a hotel room. They had alot of hotels available and lots of research tools. We booked at barcelona universal which is downtown, close to port and all sightseeing. My dd and I are coming in 2 days early and wanted to be within walking distance for sightseeing. This hotel was around $200 per night with breakfast. It's right on a metro stop. I was told by a friend from barcelona that it would be so easy to get there from the airport and their transportation system is straightforward. Anyways, booking.com was a great site to research and book through.

I had a two room suite reserved for 5 of us in Barcelona for $330 eur. for one night. Since I such good luck with Priceline for our hotel in London pre-cruise, I tried Barcelona. I ended up with two rooms for US$99/room at the Barcelo Atenea Mar.

John,

We are staying in London one night before we come home after the cruise.

I have not booked a hotel as of yet. Can you please give me the info on your priceline success??? Which hotel did you get & how much. How are you getting from the airport to the hotel? Are you flying into LHR airport?

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Patricia

:confused3 Does anyone know if any of the excursions in Marseilles include a trip to Chauteau d'If of Count of Monte Cristo fame? This is one of the place my dd wants to visit! Thanks.
