Technically they are supposed to charge you. I emailed and called GS after realizing we were charged for DD. The lady explained if they have a plate you are supposed to pay. True they usually do not charge you even if you give the child a plate but they are supposed to. Call, ask, they will tell you. You don't pay if they share OFF your plate.

So to us ~ if that is the actual rule ~ we will pay for her if she has a plate. My DH is a huge rule follower and since we were told this by a Guest Services Cast Member ~ he would either pay or not let her have a plate. Just the way he is.

This doesn't make sense to me. You won't get a plate for your DD and not pay because its against the rules, yet you will lie to Disney about her age??

The only way to truly follow the rules is to pay OOP for her.

there has already been a thread about the charge for a child. let's not turn this thread intot he same debate

99.9% of the posters have never been charged for a child under 3, this report is an anomoly. but we need to move on and not turn this into the same debate

The rule is no, a child under 3 may not be on a dining plan. So yes, a server could question you and not let you use the plan for her.

The rule is no, a child under 3 may not be on a dining plan. So in the same vein that you can be charged at a buffet, you cannot add your under 3 year old to a dining plan.

disney will allow you to age your child and put an under 3 on the plan and purchase a ticket also.
