hi everyone

I don't want to be rude- but I need to know what the go is with matching t shirts

as a teenager I would have not gone near my family if they had tried that and now as a 39yo I still can't think of anything more embarrassing

it may be an aussie thing- bit if people went out in matching outfits at home they would be subject to ridicule

if all members of ext family could afford the
big trip and i suggested matching shirts i would be shouted down.

i am a Disney tragic so it has nothing to do with
not being excited. i ride every ride, character photos and all the kids stuff- just don't get the shirts

thanks- looking foward to hearing replies

The OP removed their post from this thread. If s/he wanted it to still be here, s/he would have left it. I don't think it's very polite to copy/paste it from somewhere else, along with a link, if s/he went through the effort to remove it. Don't you think? What positive purpose does it serve?

I was actually going comment on the thread and thought others may as well ... :confused3

I think matching shirts would be fun! But, my 12 year old would be beyond humiliated. :confused3 :dance3:

This is actually an interesting topic, I think.

There is no way I'd do it either, even if I wanted to there is now way I could get the others in my family to follow suit. I think my husband would wonder if pod people had taken over his wife. My nine year old son is actually sick of dressing even remotely like his brother now too, that's just hard because I just have certain styles I gravitate to in kid's clothes. To each their own though :D

It is an Australian thing to think it's unusual - not something you'd ever see done here. We thought it was unusual our first trip to DLR.

We haven't done the matching t-shirt thing, BUT....
I did pack the same color shirts for each day of a 6 day trip for DH, myself, and 2DS (7 & 9). My thought process was that we might get some cool family pics for Christmas cards. Some of them looked pretty good, actually.

Not matching but we did wear these on our last trip.

llump41, I LLLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVEEEEEEEEEEEE those shirts!!

I was looking for matching Tshirts to wear for our upcoming trip to DLR. But I couldn't find them in the store. So I bought tshirts of same colors, just for fun!!

My first trip to Disneyland was over 20 yrs ago.
And I came across a family in matching outfits... at first I thought it was silly.. and then I spoke to the mum and she said she had 5 children all under the age of 7.. it was going to be very hard for her and her husband to keep an eye on all of them at the same time..... by wearing the same outfits if one went missing all she had to do was point to the outfit of one of the other children to let the CM members know what they were wearing... this was before the days of cell phones with cameras etc. so it made perfect sense back then.....

I say to each his/her own. And llump41, I love your shirts, too! :goodvibes
I've worn matching shirts many times with the girls Diva group. It may be juvenile, but I think it's fun and our shirts are beautifully adorned by one of our talented women! It's ok to say you don't get the allure of doing it. :)
