The matching family T-shirts

Local here, and have seen many different and very clever family t-shirt designs in the parks. My question is do some/most families have multiple sets of these shirts or am I just lucky to see them the one day of their vacation that they are wearing them? Working on the assumption that they aren't doing laundry during their vacation. Sorry in advance if this is a dumb question or in the wrong forum.

Not sure about other families, but we did one last year and wore it the first day to MK and that's it.

Even if everyone just wore it on the first day and never wore it again on that vacation, just think of the shear amount of people going to Disney. You're always going to have people showing up as their first park day of their vacation.

We sometimes do matching shirts. I think we have done it 2 or 3 times over the last 5 or 6 trips. We only do it one day of the trip.

My family has over a dozen matching sets....enough that we wear a different set each day of our vacation (I refuse to do laundry on my vacation).

Am I overboard that we have either themed family shirts or straight up matching family shirts for 4 of the 7 days of our upcoming vacation. My son has Disney themed clothes for EVERY day of the trip!:teeth: But this has been collected over the past few months and he can and does wear the clothing now so I don't consider it solely a Disney investment. But now that we have a family we really like to wear family shirts! We even have Doctor Who family themed shirts. :)

I usually make at least three sets each trip and we wear them at least twice. Since my boys are growing, it’s a necessity to make new ones each trip. Some are more simple than others. When my kids were little, it was a GREAT way to spot them (or my husband) in a crowd and for them to spot us in a crowd. Unfortunately, I think our days of matching shirts are numbered...at least for matching every day. My saving grace for our next trip is that we’ll be vacationing with my brother and his family, and their boys will be 5, 8, and 9. So, I’ll have the “excuse” that we all need to match again. :D

For our upcoming trip, we will match 2 (maybe 3) days.

DD attends Marquette University, so the family will wear matching MU shirts.
We are also wearing a matching family costume for MNSSHP.
And possibly a third match day for DD's birthday while we are at WDW...

My mom wanted a set for everyday when we took her. She hates packing and that made it easy for her. Lol

I am was thinking about that too. I was planning to put them all in zip lock bags so all we have to do is take them out and we would already know what we were going to wear for the day. Surprisingly not, my husband agreed without any persuasion.

For a family of 4, getting four custom shirts was $60-70 I want to say? A shirt of each day gets costly! Good idea though.

I love the idea of matching shirts, but our first Disney World trip was getting expensive fast, so I did not do them. However, for our second trip, I took two of my favorite photos from my first trip and had them printed onto t-shirts for myself and my daughter. We wore them for trips 2 and 3. We just returned from our 4th trip, but alas, neither of us wore our matching shirts. DD12 has grown out of hers and I have shrunk out of mine. 80 lbs lost!

I can't bear to throw them away, so I'm thinking of making them into pillows. I will definitely have more shirts made for future trips with more current photos.

We are a family of 6 and it was about $80 with shipping to have matching shirts made for the last trip for one day. I hear you.

@MomOfDisneyPrincess, I love the photo shirt idea!

In the past, we've only done actual matching shirts twice - homemade once, and Disney logo ones that we just happened to find in all our sizes another time. I'm hoping for the next trip to do a matching small design on three different colors, so it won't be "too" alike and DH and DS will buy in.

My kids used to wear custom Disney clothes every day that matched the theme of what we were doing that day. Then they got a little older and realized that their mother was a fruitcake dressing them like that :confused3 The my mother joined us last year and she has a Cricut machine so I talked her into making matching shirts for all 7 of us :cool1:. We had them for the entire time we were all together plus special shirts for NYE after my parents had gone back home. Truthfully, matching shirts do make finding everyone easier.

We usually do coordinating shirts for at least one day (one of the first days when I think we will take the most pictures) but that's about all I can get the teens to agree to. Other days we have assorted Disney shirts but usually not matching. I hit the Disney outlet one year, ordered online during a good sale from Disney Store one time, etc. We even had shirts made by a printer friend for a girls' trip. Anything times 6 gets pricey!

We are the oddballs who do laundry while on vacation! Last trip we had a matching set. We went to the parks on Monday , Wednesday and Friday. I did laundry on Tuesday and Thursday so we could wear them again :) There were 10 of us, so just too expensive to buy multiple sets...

My group has matching Disney t-shirts (either color or exact same shirt). Typically bought from Disney Store cuz we aren't creative to make our own.

We typically match at least for half of our trip :D
