The Marching Band in the Parade @ MK

I posted this on the Families board but..........

Can anyone tell me anything about the marching band that is in the parade @ MK? It's DisneyWorld's marching band, very small in size. I'm specifically wanting to know how can my son meet one of the trumpet players. My DS is a trumpet player & a freshman in HS. Just wanted him to be able to meet them & interact with them, is there a program in which he can sign up for or a tour? Please help, just wondering..............we aren't due to go back to DW until 2006 but I wanted to be prepared when we do.

I don't know anything about the marching band. I hope some of our veterans can offer advice.

I don't know of a specific program, but when we were there last Aug., one of the trumpet players was walking along main street after a parade and since DD plays trumpet as well, we politely asked if we could get a photo. They began chatting and he really gave DD quite a bit of time! You might want to call guest services or ask at the information building(to your left after you enter MK)Hanging out at the end of the parade may also offer you a chance to ask a few questions. I think the band members would be more than willing to answer any questions you may have if they have the time. Since you do have some time to arrange a meeting, I really would try to contact WDW and just explain to them what you are interested in. There may even be something out there that can occur B4 you go on your trip!

FINFAN, thank you sooooooo.........much for replying back to my earlier post..... you were a big help..........

DS is planning on being a music Ed major @ LSU or LA Tech & wants to learn or soak up as much of the music atmosphere as he can & this is his 1st year of jazz (4th yr of trumpet). The music the Disney Band played last year was awesome. I wonder where we might be able to p/u a CD or what the DW band might be called. I'm open to suggestions.

I bet your DD was excited to spend time with that trumpet player. DS is 15 yrs old & loves Wynton Marsailis (who he got meet & see in concert in Oct. 2003) this was what he wanted for his 15th birthday present. He just loves that trumpet that Wyonton plays ....and wanted one but......not... DS's Bach Strad will have to do...........because it anin't happening ($$$$$$)
