Looks like they are listening, or Hula was trying something different. Logged onto VMK a little before 8:30 and just for the heck of it searched for the Host game. It was still there so I got in line expecting it to close. Line moved very fast and when I got to the room Hula had one Teleporter set up and was asking everyone to exit to the Dinner room. So at some point everyone won the Blue Rocker.

EDIT: Just to be clear, Hula left the room open after 8:30 and let most if not all of the people waiting in line through the room. I don't think I got out till 8:40.

Thanks Hula!

Hula is SUCH a sweety. I'm not sure how else to say it. I love Fin and Lily too, absolutely - but things like this. It just seems like Hula thinks two steps ahead and understands there are a lot of people and kids out there that can't always be on right at the opening of a host room and/or don't quite get the whole stay on-line and not get dc'd for over 2 hours. :)

We heart ya Hula!

yep i agree. things went very smoothly tonight. And isn't it funny how there are only a few posts about a host room when things go smoothly. So i thought i would throw in a "thank you" to vmk for the nicely ran host game tonight. And thank you Hula for keeping the game open!:thanks:

I got in not long after it opened and lost, but got back in line and about 40 minutes later I won, thankfully (this was all while running back and forth between my computer and the TV to watch American Idol :rolleyes1 ).

I'm really glad you posted this, Coaster. I'm so happy people were able to get prizes even though they got in line late. Whether it was a Hula-only thing or a VMK-thing, I suppose we'll see, but either way, fabulously done. :thumbsup2 Hula made my day twice in the first week of the new year, and I've heard countless others tell me about kind things she's done for them. I like all of the Hosts, but Hula, as you said Peasy, she's extra understanding and goes above and beyond more times I can count. Very patient too. I've had times when the event room wouldn't load for a good 3 or 4 minutes thanks to my tempermental computer (I could see the room, but I couldn't see people or furnishings), but she's never once booted me. She could, but she doesn't.

As a friend and I were saying earlier tonight, she has "the Disney magic." :wizard:

We  Hula!

I believe that there are lots of cast members that work at Disneyland who enjoy their job, are nice to the guests, and like making others smile. They are wonderful.

Every now and then, you also come across the cast member that takes the extra steps to spread the magic of the Disney experience in ways that are truly beyond expectations.

VMK has many wonderful hosts and staff that work within a sometimes challenging environment and take the blame for issues beyond their control. There are also, just like at the Park, staff that just seem to embrace the opportunity to do anything they can to make guests' day. Hula does this. And we, as the Park guests', appreciate it so very much!

I could not play last evening, but I am very pleased to hear Hula left the "door open" for people in line after closing time.:thumbsup2

Yup yup.. totally agree. This isn't the first time she's done this either. She always goes above and beyond!

The reason the game wasleft open for everyone ws because the Gnome was unable to make it on to VMK last night. and Hula was up waiting for me ROFL.

Seriously I think that is an excellent way to handle the long lines

WTG Hula!!

I so totally agree!! LAst nights host game went fantastic!! This was my first time playing the coffin game but it went really smooth! Even though when it was time for me to enter the room I clicked and for some reason it put me back into another qeue. But the line went fast and I was able to get thru it again! And my husband who was very close to the end of closing and she let him into! So THANKS HULA!! :thumbsup2

I understand and would agree that in the Disney's Parks there are a few host that will go above and beyond their jobs to just try and make the guest happy...make their day the best it can be there! I can't tell you how many time a Host has done that for us at DLR...not that all their host's aren't nice.. because they are. Some just seem to go out of their way to help you. And I see that it is the same in vmk! It is true that all our Host are really nice and do their best.. even under the worst of time! But Hula is always there waiting to help... or go that extra mile for you. I too have a slow computor that...when it opens I don't see anyone or anything until it loads. But yet Hula has never booted me either! Thanks to all our vmk Host's but Hula ....YOU ROCK!!!! Thanks! :)

It's human nature. Look at any news broadcast

I had won my chair prior to closing and got dc shortly there after and did not log back into VMK after that so I did not know Hula had done this.

That was very sweet for her to do....Thank you Hula for all those who were still in line.

:thumbsup2

Hula, if you are reading this (and I KNOW you are), you are the consummate ' sweet tea '.

Thank you so much for doing this for the folks who weren't able to get on right away, or who, in my case, picked the wrong teleporter the first time through! I was able to get my character, my DH's character and my DD9's character through the line. This is due to the speed with which the game moved.

Smart choice by VMK or Hula or whomever! The speed of the games is now even more crucial to the playability of it, like it was back in the "dc every thirty minutes" days.

All the VMK hosts are great, but Hula holds a special place in my <3 !
