Have a safe trip home!!! Yes, I LOVE the RAC airport check-in at the resort! We've used it several times now and have never had a problem. :thumbsup2

I hope you left those Stretchy Shorts behind... :scared:

Have a safe trip home guys! It was fun! can't wait to see the pic of the room.

I am going down Saturday :yay: and won't be back until the 28th. I won't be bringing my PC though (unless my DH brings it when he joins me on Wednesday).
My birthday is the 29th in case you get a real urge to buy me a birthday present ... :rolleyes1

We just love this service that Disney provides where you can check in for your flight AT the hotel. They even took our luggage so we don't have to do anything but go thru security.

How long have they been doing this? Am I that unaware of what's going on around me?
Oh ... it's been a little while since they have been doing it. It will definitely make it in my TR ... someday.

DisFam... I'm still wearing the stretchy shorts!!

We're half way home (Denver) right now.

Nobody can clear out a club room like my family can. This place was jammed when we arrived. Our half of the club is now empty!! :rotfl2:

I finished up a segment which I'll post next.

~ The Man Report ~ ~ “Mole” People & The White Rabbit ~

Like most people, I dream. Unlike most people, my dreams take creepy little twists & turns and are really long, drawn out stories similar to a television series.

Take for instance my White Rabbit nightmares. In these dreams, the White Rabbit from Alice in Wonderland chases me across the globe trying to assassinate me. In between attempts, I get into all sorts of mishaps & adventures. Think “Amazing Race” meets large man toting a garrote and wearing a white rabbit costume.

The other dream segment only occurs on Tuesday nights. I call it my “Mole People” nightmares.

What happens here is these creepy black Moles who talk with an English accent and walk on their hind legs, abduct me and take me to their underground world for imprisonment and torture. Each dream is different and begins where the last one ended. Think “Jack Bauer in 24” only with talking Moles. ::yes::

While the Mole People dreams are only on Tuesday nights, the White Rabbit dreams can happen any night (except, obviously, Tuesdays).

While in Orlando however, I take a vacation from my usual dreams & nightmares and replace the creepy stories that are prevalent back home with ones of the family skipping merrily and prancing about the Epcot Main Fountains. They’re all good.

It’s like my body and subconscious are also aware that vacation is “vacation” and it’s time to give old Buzz a break.

I do well on vacation. I’m not one of those maniacal workaholics who’s constantly checking his email via PDA while standing in line.

My phone is off. I don’t want bad news. Each evening I’ll scan my emails and check my voice messages but rarely will I respond to any of them.

It’s important to get away from the real world & Disney is a perfect fit to fulfill this objective. Where else can you go and achieve this sensation of living life inside of a happy cartoon loaded with delicious bratwurst & beer?

You need vacation for extended periods of time also. These four & five day trips to Disney just don’t do the trick. I’ve found that 13 is a pretty lucky number for us. After 13 days in the World, you WANT to go home. That’s what vacation is supposed to do.

If you’re “sad” to go home at the end of vacation, then you didn’t do it correctly.

We want to be so sick and tired of Disney that by the time we leave, the kids are “begging” for school.

We met some nice people by the pool the other day. Sure, they didn’t drink alcohol, but they were nice nonetheless.

They asked how long we’d been here. We told them, “almost two weeks”. “Wow” they responded. They’d been here 5 days and were about to go home. :sad2:

They didn’t want to go and their children were sad. DUH!!! It was too short of a trip. Get it together you Ip-Dips!!

They found it hard to believe we came down for as long as we did. When I told them we were just down for a week last March they damn near crapped themselves.

“You guys are sooo lucky”, said the wife.

It’s not luck. It’s planned. We work hard to save money for these trips and other things suffer because of it.

Taking the kids out of school for so long is just one negative issue. The other being the absolute appalling amount of money we spend down here.

We don’t care.

Everything you do in life is about making choices. When you make a choice, something “wins” and something “loses”. Everything has a cost related to it and I don’t mean monetary.

The costs of coming to WDW every year for such extended periods of time are numerous.

• My kids are dumber from missing so much school ::yes::
• Savings account? Who needs that!
• Liver failure? Sure, why not?

However, as much as I travel, what I do get is precious moments and memories with my family.

Thousands of pictures of all of us smiling and having fun together. Teaching my children how to swim, how to GAT, about different beers from around the world, or how to cut a line and not get caught.

These are all very important to me and valuable to my quality of life. It’s a choice and there’s a cost. I’m willing to pay those costs.

With only a day left in vacation as I begin to write this, I’m ready to come home. However, I’ll be eagerly planning my family’s next vacation in October of 2008 starting in about a month.

Unfortunately for me, in 48 hours I return to the White Rabbit nightmares. The dreams of happiness and merriment will be gone for another year. The peaceful Tuesday nights I’ve known for the past two weeks will be gone. It’s back to the underground caverns & wicked dementia that is the world of the Mole People. :sad2:

Next Up: I burp up a lung.

We say this to people all the time and they just look  at the concept

Sorry Buzz,
Can't help with the White Rabbit or Mole People, I have enough problems with my recurring nightmare of my Mother-in-Law moving in with us.

Yours will probably stop when you give up fried foods and start eating salads, but that will probably bring on a whole new set of dreams.

I do get your analysis of vacations, we usually go for 10-11 days at WDW and that is just right for us, but like you by the end of the next week I am ready to start planning our next trip.

We did take a 21 day driving trip one summer and that one ended to soon for me. We really had a good time and nobody killed anyone

you worded that perfectly! But in our case its mostly Disneyland we visit.
And I hear from people, "you're going there again". We work hard for our money, and relax the way we like. life is too short.

for our 2009 WDW trip. we are giving up all our regular trips for 2008. Gotta keep your eye on the prize! We only visited WDW for the first time this past April and I figured we would just do one day in each park with a free day in the middle so DH can golf the Palm course and DD and I could shop all day.

needless to say, we were all sad when we had to board Magical Express back to the airport. So on the plane home hubby said ok, when do we go back?
I thought for a moment and said Feb 2009. but for 10 nights this time.

Well, welcome home (when you get there!). thanks for all the great photos!
Maybe I will bring my fry daddy with me when I go. let's start a new Disboard
trend!

Sometimes it's scary that I agree with you on a lot of things ... I just won't say which things.

Ok, you've got me laughing out loud again! I thought I had weird dreams--I used to have one about the toothpick people whenever I had a fever. I would have to keep breaking the toothpicks in two to get rid of them.

Nice rooms at OKW...a teensy bit bigger than ours at Pop, but we'll manage there again!:rotfl2:

And you've made me feel much less guilty about planning a trip around Christmas next year and taking DD out of school for 2-3 days before their vacation begins! Seriously, does your school give you a hard time for the kids missing so many days in a row? I don't know what our school's policy is....we just go down for fall break for 7 days, but I'd love to do longer!

I still don't see you making Tonga Toast in the fry daddy...what an opportunity you have there, don't waste it.

OMG, I had and still do have dreams about people slingshotting toothpicks into me, like a pincushion. I am still terrified of toothpicks. I stepped on like my 4th toothpick a couple weeks ago. (shudder)

But I digress, you guys sound so FUN!

There's no place like home! There's no place like home!

(C'mon, Buzz, click those heels together!!)

Kathy

Say Buzz.....my DH was wondering if you took the Fry Daddy into any of the parks... He thought you might be able to get away with it.. well maybe except for AK of course:sad2:
(He says I only keep jim around to ask the important questions...)
