LeeAndra's birthday is Friday! She turns the big 6. She's so excited. I've been shopping all morning.

And we got a new store here called Hobby Lobby. It's humungous. It's in a building that used to be a grocery store. I walked my legs off in there and I still don't think I saw everything they had. It's now my favorite place to be. Except Disney World that is.

Note to Buzz-get a 2nd job.

Hobby Lobby is great! We've got one of those and a Michael's right down the street. When your kids get older, have one of them work a part-time job there. GREAT for discounts! We love Hobby Lobby here as well!! Really do need 2 incomes.

Yep, I do several different crafts. I mainly crochet. I sew a little, do a little quilting (not much-I need to take a class), knit a bit, plastic canvas and counted cross stitch. Buzz is always harping at me to put my projects down and relax, but he doesn't understand-it's relaxing for me to work on crafts. I love it. All my aunts are big crafters so I think it's just in my blood. This Hobby Lobby store is going to work out great! I'm doing my part to support it-I've already dumped a pile of money into it. And it's very close to my house!

~ The Man Report ~ ~ Furry Critters & the Neanderthal Fetish ~



Akershus Princess Lunch (APL). Some call this a Character meal.

I don’t. Here’s why:

First, there are no furry critters. The definition of Character Meal includes the accompaniment of Furry Critters.

Second, the Characters are NOT supposed to talk. Chip & Dale don’t talk. Marie from Aristocats don’t talk. But these “Princesses” talk. What gives?

And Fourth, raw mackerel at the buffet table is not found at any other so-called, Character Meal.

Yet, I booked it anyway. AND!!... it’s our ONLY “Character Meal” for the entire trip!

What was I thinking??

It’s day one (still) and Clan Mills has booked a late lunch at the Norwegian version of Chef Mickey’s.

The waiting area to be seated is the Norway courtyard where the entrance to Maelstrom is located. They holler out your last name when it’s your turn to go in.

Problem is, you can’t understand anything these buxom beauties say when talking normally, let alone yelling at the top of their lungs.

They finally beller out our last name: Nellz! Nellz!

LtP, being buxom and blonde, understands completely… “We’re up. Move it troops”.

Upon entering, you stand in a line to meet the “Princess of the Day”. Today, it was Belle.

Man-Tip – If you can, ask to be seated in the area with the Princess of the Day. All the princesses come out of a door located in this area. If you get stuck where we did, clear across the other side of the banquet hall, it takes roughly an hour or longer before you get a glimpse of anything remotely looking like royalty.

The great thing about being on the Meat Diet and dining at APL is the buffet table is chalk full of meats and cheeses… enough to fill up on, which I most certainly did.

Plus, Norwegian beer just RULEZ!! Carlsberg Draft… Ok, I’ll have another! * burp *

After gorging yourself on the delectable feast located at the buffet, they proceed to bring out the REAL food.

For me, it’s some sort of large Norwegian Meatball served w/ gravy and some vegetables I couldn’t recognize. I think they called it Kjottkaker.

For LtP, it’s a chicken-thingy. I don’t know. I wasn’t paying attention. Coulda been pizza for all I know. I needed another beer at that point so my concerns lay elsewhere.

The kids ordered the famously Norwegian; Hot Dogs.

Now, by the time we’ve finished our meals and downed some beers, Moan Boy is starting to get agitated. Never a good sign. It usually goes downhill from there.

Also, when MB gets agitated, I get agitated. When I get agitated, I get thirsty, which is actually a good thing.

He really started “buggin” and Loud Girl hadn’t even met her first princess yet!

LtP drags his sorry butt out to the courtyard and goes to work on his “hiney”. She gets all the fun.

Actually, I’m not sure where they went or what they did. This is what I would have done so I just assumed she’d do the same. Great minds think alike, right?

So, anyway, Loud Girl and I start meeting some princesses.

The first is Jane from Tarzan… wth? Who made her a princess??? She’s nothing more than a pompous limey with a Neanderthal fetish.

Ok, I can live with Disney slipping in ONE non-princess but the next one was Mulan!! What gives? I’m at the princess lunch, paying 25 clams per person plus $8 per beer, and they’re short changing me on princesses. I want my money back! Or a free beer. Something…

Well, after the two duds they paraded out a couple “real” princesses so I calmed down. Next was a blur of pictures, and beer drinking. Life is good!

Things were looking pretty good by this time when MB and LtP rolled back to the table. I’d forgotten they were with us.

Well, MB wasn’t doing any better after the timeout with mom, so we knew we had to get a few shots of him “buggin” to show him when he was a teenager. Besides, it is kinda funny.

We finished up with the meal, got photos of all the “princesses” , and paid the tab.

As we walked back to the parking lot to head back for some swimming, I started burping up some of that delicious Kjottkaker. It was starting to fight back! That ethnic food really gets to me.

No biggie… An ice cold beer by the pool would put out that fire.

Next Up: My application as a “Scab” Hollywood screenwriter is rejected.

Loud Girl and Belle… A “real” princess.

The “boys” turn. He ain’t amused.

MB conspicuously missing. Getting his hide tanned in the courtyard.

If we don’t get a real princess over to our table soon, I’m gunna start Buggin’.

Don’t know her name, but she looks legit.

MB is valiantly trying to “hold” it together at this point. It didn’t last long.

The boys get a hug.

LG’s not the only one to show affection.

Lin, I was wondering if you ever make it to Disney without Buzz? He seems to be quite the player and you are at home doing crafts and taking care of the kids. Whatz up with that? You need to get out a little too. Maybe you, Blue, and DM could do a ladies only trip and leave Buzz at home to take care of the kids. That would be a cool trip report.
