It is at the end of operating hours SUNDAY and not Saturday, right?

Seems a little strange they are "extending" it one day ino the "new" week.

Thank you for bringing this up. My wife loves this attraction. She was disappointed to see it was closing the 12th. We were rearranging plans, then we noticed it actually closes this the 13th. Is there an official close date?

All I've seen is the 12th.:)

Pretty sure the actual "close date is the 13th, from what I read from the Orlando Sentinel. Meaning it will be open the 12 but not the 13th. My wife is very happy :-)

On July 12th, Animation closes at the end of the day. It will not be open on the 13th - Sorcerer Mickey and Minnie will be meeting in temporary locations.

Hiro and Baymax end their meets on the 12th.

I don't get it. I think Walt would be very unhappy the way WDW is going. Money Money Money and less and less family family family. I don't want to hear all the "it's" a business crap I will probably get. For those of you that started going when your kids were little don't you remember when it was more about the experiences like meeting the trash can, the extra minute with a cast member, watching your kid tug on the sword in the stone, or watching as the years have gone by and your kids drawings get better each time they go! I am very disappointed and wonder what is next. Thank god I have been blessed to be able to watch my kids grow up remembering all the special CM times and the little things. My 18 year old read this news and responded wow dad what are the little kids going to remember now, standing in line for an hour to see a princess or take a 2 minute ride! The magic is quickly going away!

I am so sad that this attraction is closing because it is one of my favorites in WDW. I am lucky to live closer to DL than WDW so we go there more often....and the drawing is still there.

It's a shame on it closing. We just discovered it on our last trip. I hope they open the drawing class somewhere else on property. *fingers crossed*

Art of Animation Resort does have drawing classes with an Animator in the Lobby there.

I have seen various different schedules,so,if this is something that interests you,I would contact AoA for the most current info.:)

This was one of four things I'd bother going to DHS to do (ToT, RnRC, MuppetVision, and this). Not really worth wasting the time to get all the way to DHS for 3 things only now, so I'll be sticking to EPCOT, DAK, and MK and just forget DHS even existed.

WoW, Harsh!!! But I hear what you're saying. Your'e not the only disappointed one here on the boards....It appears ( as an earlier PP stated ) that they've lost some of that message/point of what Walt wanted to get across.. Now don't get me wrong, I'm definitely up for some change or some new and exciting things, but the way it's going, it does make you think..... This park is starting to become a deserted Island, & I'm not a fan of that, for sure.... Hopefully when the dust settles, they have something up their sleeves:confused3.

So as I read this I will miss the Magic of Animation too.... GoodbyE:wave:

Although that's a nice alternative, It's not really practical unless you have so many days that you need to fill in time, or you're staying at the AoA, or POP. Maybe if you were able to Pool hop there it would make it a lil more worthwhile. At least to spend more time that is. It was a nice thing to have while @ HS. Just something else to do & see....Nothing that our family has to have as a headliner must do..:confused3

TBH, it's never been my favorite park. My family loves TSMM, but while I love the movies, I can take or leave the ride. None of us are Star Wars fans, so that is no draw, even if they do a whole land. It's pretty much been a half-day park for my family when we have gone. (My parents and sister like Beauty and the Beast and occasionally some of the other shows - I had one too many times sitting around high schoolers singing along LOUDLY and gushing over who had played who in their school productions to risk it again, so when we're all together it gets stretched out, but still not a full-day park for any of us.)

Now...if they decided to do Pixar-land with stuff from all the Pixar movies, I'd be all over that!
