I think this could be Disney's best kept secret. I've been to WDW many times and never went to this, I don't even know how long it's been there. Anyway, we just got back last night and we went in to see it this time. What a great attraction! If you've never seen it, it starts with a short theatre presentation where they explain how a Disney animated character is developed. The best part though is after that in the Animation Academy. It's like a large classroom where you sit at a drawing table and the guy at the front teaches you step-by-step how to draw Mickey. It was really neat. I can't draw at all but the Mickey I drew there actually looks like a Mickey.

Anyway, if you're like me and always assumed this would be a boring attraction, check it out. It's very cool. :thumbsup2

The revamped version has its good points, but I miss seeing the animators at work like they did in the early days...

I miss the original version, with the Walter Cronkite/Robin Williams stuff. I know they had to change it because it was dated, but I loved it!

The Animation Tour has been there since the park opened, and I miss the original version with Robin Williams being turned into a Lost Boy in Neverland and seeing animators working on upcoming feature films.

We made sure to do the quick animation class this time. We all had fun drawing Mickey Mouse!

This is one of my very favorite things to do! We've been able to draw Mickey and Goofy. I can't wait to go back and do it again!! :thumbsup2

Thanks for the info. My ds who is 9 yr loves to draw.

Yes, my family and I also love this attraction! We never heard of it until we were there, and I think more people should know about it and check it out! Your drawing is a free souveneir! It's awesome! We drew Donald Duck. It's fun to see the different results even though we all went through the same steps.

Unfortunately the current attraction is a shell of it's former glory. It used to be much better. Still good but the old attraction was much better in my opinion.
