Great prices .... who did you book your Man - Barcelona with as that is
a lower price than I am finding currently. We probably missed the boat on the best deals but we have passport issues with one of the group which need sorting before I book anything.

Flying with Monarch, price today is £86 for 1 adult (might rise with more people) 1% cashback http://www.quidco.com/monarch/?ac

They were great prices but the hotel has fallen thru after the cruise, confirmation arrived in my inbox, it said Homewood Suites, International Drive (wouldn't stay on there if it was free:rotfl2:) so I cancelled. Now looking at Wyndham Bonnet Creek, 2 bed apartment (same size as 2 bed villa at OKW) for £68/nt

Hi

Just booked in the last 2 hours.

Me - Colin
DW - Yvonne
DS - Ryan 15

This will be our 4th Disney cruise did WBTA in 2011 and loved it.

The itineray looks fantastic we have not been to any of the ports except St Martten.

Roll on September!!!

Woo hoo Another Scottish family :thumbsup2

We have been in St Marteen last 2011 for my special birthday with freedom of the seas and I like it and I think we go back to Maho to see plane over the beach which was amazing.

I am starting to seriously look at airfares finally, and did searches on both Kayak and Skyscanner. The oneway prices to BCN are much cheaper than anywhere else, booking through cheapo-air and edreams.
Does anyone know if the booking class on these is eligible for frequent flyer miles? Both flights I am considering (Air Canada and US Air) are Star Alliance, so if eligible, we could get United miles

I am thinking the difference in price far outweighs the value of miles we would lose, but would love to get both!

You will almost certainly not earn miles through the ticket consolidators.

I used a TA for a multi-city trip to Europe and back last summer. Unbeknownst to me, they used consolidators for some of the legs and I didn't get miles.

This is a duplicate post from the FB group page.

Bad news people. As I am job hunting for a school librarian position, I've had to cancel this cruise. If I get the job, then I would not be able to get time off in September. I won't know if I get the job until after PIF - so I canceled this week. I'll just have to look at a TA cruise some other time.
Please take me (K. Dorney) and my friend (J. Brock) off of Palo Brunch, Champagne Girls, Secret Mickey, linked dining, and any of the tastings I had signed up for. I hope all of you have a great time.
Please send great thoughts up so that I get one of the jobs I applied for. I do know that if it is meant to be... it will be.
Thanks

So sorry about having to cancel, good luck with the job hunt! :)

Hi everyone!!!

I'm back....sorry to have been missing in action for so long but sometimes life takes over and gets in the way of holiday planning! Anyway I am going to try and keep up with this thread, I can't say it will be a daily basis but at least weekly!

We are still looking for someone to take up the challenge of organising and getting the DIS lanyards printed...so if you fancy organising it then please PM me. I know we have at least one person in this group that has done it before so hopefully they can help if you have any questions on how to do it. I suggest nothing is ordered until after the PIF date but i think it maybe an idea to start compiling a list now.

How many formal nights do we do on a TA?? I'm buying dresses for the girls now if I need more than 1 each I need to plan! Lol :)

How much are tux rentals on board? I saw someone say they'd rather do that than bring their own.

IIRC, we had two formal and two semi-formal nights on the EBTA last May. But don't quote me on it! Not sure on the tux rental, but I do know that having our formal wear pressed once on board is well worth the cost!

I think the better way to answer this is 'check the terms and conditions' before you book. You are absolutely able to earn miles using kayak, orbitz, etc. Search flyertalk.com if you are unsure.

David, I am super stoked for you and your 1M status! Wow! We strive every year to make Silver. The boys, DH, and I have all been Silver for three years (or is it four?) This year, I missed Gold by 3K. They sent me an offer to buy the 3K for $650, but I didn't do it since it only allows one other person to book at Econ Plus with me, and that would leave two sitting elsewhere. Hopefully, this year DH and I will make it!

Thanks for all your advice and help. It really benefits having someone with this much experience putting ideas into the mix!

Thanks! I found the Navigators for the WBTA 2011 and it did show 2 formal nights. I didn't see 2 semi-formal but that's a whole lot easier to plan for than formal night, IMO. Especially given the range of what people accept as 'semi-formal' wear. Lol well, formal wear for that matter too but I'd rather dress to the nines for that, we don't get to do it very often! :)

FYI too from anyone with girls aged 16 and under: Macys is having a huge sell on their formal wear, I've found dresses for my girls for $20/ea! :)

Guessing you may be disappointed in our "formal" attire. Considering the WBTA is only 2 weeks of a 5 week vacation, I have decided to not bring my tux and will probably not even take a sport coat.

Trying to keep it under one checked and have to make allowances.

I will be the same, we might try squeeze in our Sons suit but I will be in shirt & tie. We have to limit luggage and I don't enjoy wearing formal wear so no point taking valuable space with it.

Lol my husband won't wear a tux either. Maybe if I can rent one on board I could convince him but otherwise the most I'll get from him is a suit and tie. :) I always have to wear a uniform for work so anytime I have a chance to dress up I do! And, with 4 kids somehow I doubt that I'm going to be able to limit my luggage. Lol I can fit everyone's formal/semi-formal wear into one dress bag so it's not to much of a hinderance yet.. Lol

Good for you, it's nice to see others making an effort.

How nice of you to say, and I'm always happy to offer any travel related advice - or search SA awards using Nexus, ANA, etc.

Smart move not paying that ridiculous fee for Gold over Silver. Econ Plus isn't worth $650 even with four travelers. Next year will probably be my last as a 1K as UAL has instituted $25K spend requirement for 1K qual. As I travel mostly on military fare tickets, I'll still easily get 100K EQM (did 155K EQM last year), but most likely won't spend $25K on tickets.

Where on Oahu do you live? My Mother in Law/Father in Law (DMIL/DFIL? ;)) live in Hawaii Kai, and my wife and I were married at the Ihilani - just about the time the Aulani was half way complete. We usually go to Oahu once or twice a year. Almost did a tour with COMPACFLT at Pearl, and might consider it in the future. I love Hawaii.

OMG Hawaii Kai! I lived there when I was little until my parents divorced. My dad still lives there! I live in Makiki, near Punchbowl. I bet your wedding was gorgeous. We took our engagement photos at Ihilani (or was it Ko Olina? haha I forget). Hawaii is the best -- can't beat the beauty, the weather, and the people. Most locals are just so nice.

We do like getting off the rock, though! Fortunately, we can go on many trips, which is why having the ability to book Econ Plus at booking (which was taken away with the merger) is preferred. But definitely not worth $650 when we have never not been able to move to Econ Plus at check-in and regularly get put up in First. Coming back from Christmas/New Year's at WDW, we got three upgrades. Guess who was left sitting ALONE in Econ Plus??? Haha.

I think the $ value component is just set up to weed out more Elite members. They just want to give less. Lame, but that's the way it goes.

I love dressing up! We like bringing formal wear, but understand when others have luggage restrictions. The EBTA in May was the only cruise we did not bring full Pirate gear either. That kinda bummed me out, though. Definitely taking everything on WBPC -- we will see how that goes and decide whether or not to lug everything to Spain in Sept.
