Even though we have had these reservations since July, I guess we are a little late to the party here on the DISboards. We are DH and DW staying in cabin 8586. We would like to participate in the FE, Stateroom Crawl (Tour), and the Palo Group Brunch (any day/any time). I have also sent PM's to pinky166 for the chocolate tasting, to con5421 for the WBTA pins, and geffric for group dining.

This will be our second cruise as Gold Castaways and our second cruise of longer than 1 week (EBPC 12/12). Yeah, we were in Costa Maya on 12/12/12.

Judson West (DH), Anne West (DW), stateroom 8586 (Cat 4B for stateroom tour), no allergies and late seating.

Wanted to remind all our newcomers, and those who joined our cruise previously, of our candy swap. Here is some info from pg 1

What it is? It is as delicious and tempting as the title infers; participants exchange candy among each other. For instance many countries/states/areas have some specialty which you might consider introducing to your fellow cruisers. I know that here in New England we have an awesome candy, which I won't share the name of, but, OMG get your taste buds ready.
If there is nothing really specific from your neck of the woods, don't worry! Just bring along something you find mouthwatering and know that others will appreciate you sharing it.

For those that have sailed on TA's before - has anyone every booked Round Trip Airline Tickets - then only used the front half of them? If so, were there any problems? issues? warnings from the airlines? Thoughts?

We have only used miles for the one way (in June from BCN after EBTA). This year I am definitely using miles for the boys and my parents, but still deciding whether to use miles or pay $3508 each (crazy, right???) for me and DH so we can make gold level. The RT is only $1700+, but I am too chicken to do it, because UA has a written policy stating they can remove your premier status if they catch you doing that, and that is something I cannot risk.

My guess is that we will use miles for us, too, and then just go on a couple more reasonable trips to make gold.

We did a WBTA twice before and always have booked round trip and there has been no problem.

ooo I forgot about tipping. Can someone tell me again the tipping amounts per day per person for the room stewards and the Servers? I seriously need to budget THAT for a 14 day cruise!

I guess another question with this: Do I include the baby (4 months at sailing) for tips? Obviously I would give the room steward some extra for emptying the dirty diapers every day, but what about the servers? I'm leaning on no unless the baby actually requires more from the server than giving us a carseat holder or something. thoughts on that?

Not sure on this one, but I would lean towards tipping. Also not sure that you should listen to me, because I'm an overtipper and a rule follower (as evidenced by my airline post haha).

I haven't gone through this entire thread but earlier on a person by the name of Sue was helping with reservations for hotels and transportation in Barcelona. I expressed interested and sent her credit card information (which I plan on canceling) but I haven't seen any posts from her in months and months. I don't mean to stir up anything but does anyone know what happened?

I would definetly be trying to make contact to find out what happened! Are you no longer able to make the cruise? Bummer if not. Good luck, and as much as I hate to say this, you should NEVER give out your cc information to anyone other than a retailer(and hell I'm even cautious with online shopping). Sad thing to say that gone are they days of being able to blindly trust someone, but it's true. I'm not saying Sue is like this or did this (I would hope someone from the DIS would not take advantage) just be careful, that's all....

Yes. Our 15 month old was on our first 14-night transatlantic crossing with Disney. Also, if you are booking with a rate that includes prepaying gratuities, then the infants are included with prepaid gratuities.
