We've always been on the starboard side. In fact, we've always been in the same cabin on both the Wonder and Magic. This time we're port and a couple of decks up. A verandah is a must-do for us. I'll sell a kidney if I have to. We've always used ours a lot - coffee in the mornings, reading, time-out place to keep us from tossing each other overboard...

On the WBTA, I loved going out there late at night and just watching the water go by, looking for other ships on the horizon, marveling at the vastness of the universe. It was kind of a Jimmy-Buffett-zen thing - except for being on a giant cruise ship instead of a sailboat, but whatever.

Of course, if the planets don't align and we end up without a verandah, we'll live. Being aboard is all that really matters!

We have been in the same cabin twice, too (we have only been on three cruises so far, with WBPC as #4 and this #5). I love having a verandah as well. The best use was in Alaska, but I want one everywhere we go.

Happy 4th! :beach:

Mandy, we took a boat out to Pinel on the WBTA 2011. Talk about serene!

That's what I need :) The sad thing is I could do a catamaran sail at all three of our Caribbean ports and be content :goodvibes Now some of the more southern ones have great hiking, waterfalls, or are known for Scuba, but these three keep jumping at me as being barefoot on a catamaran / beach / local beach bar with the typical Caribbean fare for munchies.

We are having some gorgeous sunny weather in the Uk right now ... making me really happy ... :cloud9::cloud9::cloud9: temps of 20 degrees where we are which is very rare and I love it :love:

I don't think you're missing anything. We've had both port and starboard on Transatlantic cruises, and didn't notice any difference.

IMO, the biggest difference in Transatlantic cruises is Eastbound vs. Westbound. We like the time changes on a Westbound for the extra hours of sleep.
Me, too. Those time changes on the EB were a killer! A girl needs her beauty sleep :goodvibes!

Location on the ship is important (we prefer mid- to aft), but a good price on a GTY is an even bigger factor-if we haven't booked early. The two GTY's we've had were both excellent assignments. Our first DCL cruise (2010 EBTA) we had an inside and would be perfectly content to have that cabin again, but we love the verandahs. It's so calming to stand on the balcony and stare at the water, clouds, passing seaweed, etc. I don't like going IN the ocean, but I love being ON it :cloud9:. As for which side of the ship...doesn't really matter to us.

We like to be in between mid ship and aft so don't have too far to go for drink stations etc. also we notice less ship movement nearer the middle.

Thank you Melodie, for adding me to the scrapbook group, can't wait to see all the fun things the group creates.:sail:

Hazel and Annie, a quick FE question: Did you get my email a good while ago about wanting to participate? My emails sometimes end up in people's spam folders, so I just wanted to make sure :goodvibes

Can someone please change our room in FE to #6044 and the name is Kasper not kaspar. It's not to be a *****

Your welcome! The more the merrier!!! We usually have some very creative people. If you are concerned about creativity, I also received alot of Disney stickers too. All have been put to great use!!

Hoping to join this group. On our EB panama canal in 2008 the men staged a speedo parade outside Palo when the ladies were having their brunch.:rotfl2:

Please advise if this actually takes place :scared1::scared1::scared1:

Gone on a cruise, your first cruise, your first Disney cruise and was hooked. I did my first cruise, a Disney cruise and it was 8 days, in May and out of Galveston. PERFECT. Now I'm on the Trans-Atlantic in September 2014 and this morning booked a 4 day for May 2014 out of Fla. Can't wait for them. I now can say I have salt in my blood, LOL:woohoo:

Which cruise out of Galveston did you do in May? We were on one also, and I'm curious to find out if you were on ours.

They're so addictive!
