I switched a dummie date ressie to this date and it was an awesome rate $1500 or so. Well switch our other ressie in a few weeks. This will be our fourth Disney cruise and our first transatlantic....The logistics of this are a bit more daunting...although the though of five straight days at sea are pretty motivating.. We would be traveling as a party of 5 Me 46 DW 48 and our two daughters and mother in law..We do have a few questions....

1. Best way to save on air? Finding reasonable air from San Juan is pretty easy. Finding air to Barcelona is proving more difficult.
2. Most affordable hotel in Barcelona?
3. The logistics of leaving for two weeks...Trying to make sure everything is paid and everything is taken care of....pets...parents...bills....My best guess is to make some sort of countdown checklist...Did anyone do this on a previous TA?
4. Is 14 or 15 days too long?
5. laundry and packing...Is it better to pack for one week and do laundry once or pack for two weeks?

My family of 4 will be doing this cruise as well. Myself (Andrew) and DD Mariah (14) in room 7131. My DW Sarah and DD Callie (13) in 7125.

Wow, that's great! I thought a lot about trying it out. A few of my friends and co-workers have had a lot a success on WW. I've been walking 3 miles, 5 days a week but struggling a lot with the food part. I happen to love just about anything rich and flavorful!

It's more that you write down what you eat, so you don't will eat that much.
You get points and for that points you can eat that day, but saturday we had french fries. You can eat everything but not more then your day pionts.

Said the woman who just ate bacon-cheese grits and m&ms for breakfast. :sad2:

You had to mention bacon/cheese grits:stir:

In other news...

I just changed to #7114, so we'll be joining the Deck 7 party!:banana::banana: Much as I loved our previous location (read: easy to find when drunk), which we've had on all 3 cruises now, the siren call of the secret deck was irresistible. It's actually $140 more than our previous stateroom, but as Dennis hasn't even agreed to that yet, I figure, "in for a penny, in for a pound," right? What he doesn't know works to my benefit. I think I'm on my 5th four-day hold on our ressie. I'm going to have to find a way to slip that deposit past him, soon.

Anyway, looking forward to the new stateroom experience!

Shhhh - let Deck 6 think they're the party deck:smokin:

Yay! There WILL be a Deck 7 party! :cool1:

:wave2: Howdy neighbors! I'm in #7612. Just me.

A deck 7 party!! Awesome!!! 7627 is ready to have some fun!!

Oh well, the cats out of the bag. Deck 7! Deck 7!:woohoo:

Ken & Debbie 7134 - should we bring the blender? Or just the Rosa Regale' ?

Welcome!

Can't help much on fares as we will be doing the reverse to you..... Starting from the Uk :) we use Virgin air miles for the one way flight and BA from UK to Barcelona....

There are lots of reasonable hotels in Barcelona, look for one on Las Ramblas, or one near the airport, like The Renaissance,

We put the cat in a cattery, or my dd will look after him, a spreadsheet helps with making sure all bills are noted and paid for...

The length of the cruise is definitely not too long! ;) our last TA was by far my fave holiday ever, most relaxing and fun from first to last.

I'd pack for one week and make use of the laundry services, especially as air lines are now so stingy with bag allowances! :)

Sorry, not much help, but any details or more info you need ask away! :)

party::welcome:party: To all our new WBTA 2014 cruisers who have signed on....this will be the best time you've ever had!!!

Claire updated the "rum cocktail tasting" this past week-end. If everyone who has signed up for it will check to see if all your information is correct. If it is....awesome :worship:.....if not, if you will please pm me with any corrections, I would appreciate it! :thumbsup2

Ok, I have seen the word candy mentioned a few times on our FB posts. There are a few of us who do indulge!!! So, I have decided to take on the Candyswap .

Yes, we will be having a candy swap on our WBTA cruise.

What it is? It is as delicious and tempting as the title infers; participants exchange candy among each other. For instance many countries/states/areas have some specialty which you might consider introducing to your fellow cruisers. I know that here in New England we have an awesome candy, which I wont share the name of, but, OMG get your taste buds ready.
If there is nothing really specific from your neck of the woods, don't worry! Just bring along something you find mouthwatering and know that others will appreciate you sharing it.

Send along the following information to me, lovingthemouse (Caroline), and I will make certain that it is posted on the first page by Claire as we update.

- Your name (DIS name and first name)
- Room number
- Number of people in your stateroom participating
- Likes/dislikes
- Allergies

If we have a large response, we will break the groups down into smaller numbers so that you are not packing enough candy for the entire ship!! Try weighing your bags then!! ;)

I've got the list typed up at work, will email it to you tomorrow :cheer2:

We've got a fantastic bunch signed up, it's going to be great :yay:

I remember the guy in costume who popped his head off... Some little ones saw it and there was some screaming....

We were just talking about that the other day.:scared1:

I remember someone had taken pictures and showed them to Brent who was far from happy. Rumor had it that he left to go call his counterpart to inform him of his displeasure!!!

14 or 15 days on board is NOT to long..
We have a pet sitter for our cat, bills are set to pay automatically..mail and newspaper stopped, make sure your credit card doesnt charge fees in addition to the exchange fee.

Laundry is very expensive in Spain so the boat was cheaper. We did laundry and packed for 1 and 1/2 weeks since we were going to spend some time in Spain. This time I will be gone 3 weeks, so definately doing laundry once I board.

I vote blender!!!

yeah a blender!:thumbsup2
