The MAGIC is Back!!! - 6th Sept 2014 WBTA - Come & join the fun! - PART 2

:cool1: Welcome all new cruisers! :cool1:

:thumbsup2 Thanks very much for your hard work on the dining Susan and Nicole. :thumbsup2

I agree it would be great to do a tour in San Juan Linda -- we have our flight booked at 2.35pm and the airport website says you need to be there 3 hours in advance -- so I am sad we won't have time.

Big countdown day tomorrow -- getting more excited all the time!

Yes we have to be at the airport for a flight at 2:30 so no good for me either.

WOW! I didn't know about the 3 our thing! Why so far in advance? I think we're on the same flight ( SWA ?), I was considering doing one of those tours, but I guess not. That stinks we have to sit around the airport that long....

We are on the Southwest to Orlando -- I assume that is the same flight?

I looked here:
http://www.southwest.com/html/air/airport-information.html
It says 180 minutes before a flight from San Juan as the suggested arrival time. We are used to that with transatlantic flights -- but I would have hoped it would be less. Having never been to San Juan before (and never having flown Southwest either) I kind of feel we should follow that recommendation.

Perhaps others who have experience might be able to reassure us that we do not need 3 hours?

I've actually been to SJ 2x before and don't remember the 3 hour thing, but I could have just forgotten.

We are booked to Raleigh with a stop in Orlando. Since I booked the flight (using points) I have decided to surprise my kids with a few days in Orlando to go to MNSSHP andUniversal. When I checked with SWA, the price had gone up and in addition to a higher fare, SWA told me I would lose my early bird fee I paid if I "change flights" - by just not taking the 2nd leg :confused3.

So I am booked through to RDU but I am getting off at MCO and not getting back on. I'm going to tell the kids we are getting off for a few minutes (and hope they don't question why we are taking our carryons ) and just not get back on. My husband is going to meet us at the airport in Orlando (that day is actually our anniversary) and the kids won't have seen him in almost three weeks :goodvibes

Sounds like a wonderful surprise plan! I sure your kids will be beyond excited with Universal at the end of the trip -- plus how lovely to meet for a special celebration with your DH on your anniversary. :goodvibes See you on the flight! We didn't pay the 'early bird' thing so I know it is unlikely that my husband and I will be sitting together -- but the flight isn't that long so we'll cope.

What day are you doing the MNSSHP -- we are thinking of doing it on the 23rd?

Yes, it a very short flight, I did the EB because I'm traveling with kids (and my mom, but she'll get priority boarding anyway). We'll see you on board! I suspect there will be a LOT of us from the WBTA on board that flight.

We are doing the MNSSHP on the 21st with my husband, as he will be flying out on the 22nd for work. Then I'm staying with my kids one more night and staying on site at universal so we can see Diagon Alley  We fly home on the 23rd.

Have you Considered doing it on the 21st? I think that is the first one?

I probably missed the sign up, so could some one direct me to where the sign up is for PJ Breakfast, Pub Crawl, Geezer and GIT Meet??

Thanks

I remember there was some talk about a Pub Crawl, but don't think it ever actually got organized. As to the other events - I don't recall seeing anything about them on here. Maybe that was on Facebook? I'm not on Facebook so can't answer that.

I didn't see a date yet on FB but for sure I am bringing my old pub crawl tee shirt from 2010

I have a 1:30pm flight so went for the DCL transfer as its easier to make sure I get there on time.

Definitely haven't seen the PJ breakfast anywhere

I have mine from 2011! But would love a new one for the collection! Will sport it proudly if a pub crawl gets organized.

Sarah - Is there somewhere on the website that you can book this? What was the price? Been looking at Puerto Rico shuttles at $40 each.

Hopefully you are not checking any luggage.

I'm not sure where it shows on the website as my TA did it for me but it was around $39 I believe. I will check with her to make sure now as it might have been less than than

We have booked the 23rd, got $5pp discount with AP.

We haven't pre-booked the MNSSHP -- we will just get the tickets when we get to the resort. At the moment we have the 21st penciled in as a total relaxation day -- probably a visit to Typhoon Lagoon -- love that wave pool! Then either a relaxing meal at the resort (SSR) or we might take a stroll at the Boardwalk. Fingers crossed, if we are not too shattered, we will try and make Wishes and the MSEP on the Saturday we leave the ship -- then hopefully the 21st will be a late morning and then an early night!

Wayne -- we might see you there on the 23rd if we go for it. I believe I have read on the Brit board that your son is at the same university where my husband and I met (I graduated in '92) --we will have to at least say hi to him on the cruise!

That sounds about right. Just checked with my TA and it was $20 (see I was completely wrong lol) which according to my CC is £12ish

PLEASE check that your name is on the list, and confirm to me here (pm) or on FB, full names of all persons in the party, and reservation number(s).

DCL needs these to ensure that our dining requests are met.

Please add or subtract people that are joining you, clarify "others", and if you know of someone on the list that has canceled this cruise, please let me know.

thanks for all your help!

Matt has just completed his 2nd year at Lancaster, waiting for his grades now on the 10th of July, we will be in Florida so will have to be up at 5am to log in and get them.
We are going up to the Uni tomorrow as he is doing a charity abseil down Bowland Tower. Sir Chris Bonington will also be participating.

Don't know what to do about the transfer in San Juan, Disney want $60 for 3 of us a taxi is approx. $25.

But thought I'd just pop in and say hi. My name is Heather. Myself and my best friend, Marion will be joining you all. This is my 10th cruise but Marion's 1st. If you don't mind I have just a couple of quick questions.

I see from a previous post that the formal and semi formal nights have been confirmed. Does anyone know if there are any themed nights? Also when is pirate night?

Are there are DCL transfers from ship to airport in San Juan? Thank you

Hi Heather
we are 8 persons ( 5 adults and 3 kids)
i hire puertoricocruiseexcursions in their web, they will pick us up i the port, make a short and nice excursion in old san juan while holding our bags and then they drop off at 1pm the airport or later . I was waiting for Disney to release their offers and as i didn't find one i book this for 40 U$ per adult and U$28 for kids.
I wanted my kids to dee the puerto Rico fortress before flying back.
Hope this is useful
Alex
