The MAGIC is Back!!! - 6th Sept 2014 WBTA - Come & join the fun! - PART 2

I hope I didn't screw this up I really don't know how to use disboards:( was wanting to join the mixology tasting if its not to late

Don't worry.....I just happen to be glancing through and saw this. I will need your DCL reservation number. You will need to make a few more posts. I think you have to have 10 before you can pm someone. Just click on my name after reaching your 10th post and a drop down box will appear. Just click private message and it will allow you to send me a message and just put your reservation number on it. :thumbsup2 I've closed the group just a few minutes ago, but I will add you since you had already posted this message. :goodvibes Look forward to having you two join the tasting!

Debra

I have just closed the mixology tasting event and there are several people who have signed up but have not sent me a confirmation note. If you do not have "confirmed" out beside your name, I need for you to pm me within the next week so I can make sure you are included in this event. If anyone knows any of the "unconfirmed" people, could you remind them to let me know if they are still interested in joining? If you have sent me a message confirming and it's not on this list, I do so apologize! :confused3 Between confirming the list on disboards and trying to set up a spreadsheet for the same list but with reservation numbers.......I've got so many sheets of paper where I've jotted down confirmation information, I'm going cross-eyed! lol :rotfl: Please let me know if I've missed you. Thanks for your patience!!!

Yes flying back on the 20th unless I can wing a extra night somewhere. I was looking at one which stoped in Dulles but its the can I get my bags and kids off one plane and checked onto another in the time scale. I have never had to change planes before so this is all new to me and a bit scary. I am probably worrying over nothing.

Please don't worry as I did it while at Florida to Washington and need caught flight by 40 mins:eek::eek: Lucky it was same terminal and we walked very fast as it was miles worst than Heathrow airport and I was bad mood *** I worn wrong shoes for my bad knee. However, we arrived and Ii think 20 mins left we managed in queue. So if you still worry speak to air waitress and they will help you. Okay...

Relax:dance3::yay:

Thanks for the update. I'm looking forward to the cutoff so we can start buying materials and making gifts. I just sent you a PM to include us in 2 groups please.

Thanks for organizing the FE!

We are on the list, still want to participate, just one group please -- BUT we are now a 4B GTY vs. room 6544. Sorry, I'll let you know as soon as we get our room number.

I've done *GTs before and we never get our room until a couple weeks or less before sail date. Does anyone know if it is faster with a GTY?

Also, I can ask on the main board if no one knows, but I was wondering if anyone has ever stayed in the family verandah's (that sleep 5) and know if the murphy bed or the couch is more comfortable, or are they the same? Probably won't use the murphy bed as it blocks the verandah, but just curious if there is an advantage to using it over the couch bed.

GTY is no different from any other unassigned cabin category imh - it leaves one in limbo for what *feels like* for.ev.er!

I had one of those rooms with the murphy bed, which does, indeed, block the door, required rearranging the furniture and was a huge pain. We only did that once. The couch and drop down slept fine for the rest of the trip!

Ok, that's what I suspected. Thanks!

Linked Dining Update: I've received and noted all PMs sent to me through this evening. I will be busy the next few days as I'm getting ready for a much needed trip home for several days over the holiday weekend next week, so I may not be able to respond, but I'll post another update hopefully not too long after that.

Hello

To those of you that know me, just wanted to say that Abby and I are now confirmed for this sailing and can't wait to see you all again.

To all of my new friends who I've not yet met, hello and can't wait to meet you all onboard.

We're traveling with "Roo from Reading" my cousin....

Hope to be able to pop onto the boards and keep up with all the goings on...

Xx

I know Valerie said she was going to be away for a few weeks, not on the boards -- so I thought I'd answer this for her -- hopefully she won't mind!

Here is a very helpful explanation of the postcard and recipe exchange that Val posted on Facebook at the beginning of May -- it really is up to each person what they want to exchange.

I've been asked a few questions concerning the Postcard/Recipe exchange and if the idea is to add a regional recipe to the postcards. My response is Yes - But - this is suppose to be fun, not stressful, so there really aren't any rules. In past postcard/recipe exchanges I have received a variety of combinations, all have been appreciated. Some things I have received have been:
Just a lovely postcard, some with, some without, messages
A postcard with a regional or favorite recipe on the back
A postcard and a regional favorite treat; tea bag, penny candy, mini bottle of hot sauce
A postcard with a recipe clipped to it
A recipe card noting who sent it and from where but no postcard
Any combination would be great.
Val

I think I am planning on giving a couple of postcards of local places that special to me to each person -- and one or two recipes as well -- I think I'll write messages on the cards and include the recipes separately -- but I have not really decided yet. I bought my first batch of postcards this past weekend. :goodvibes

As Val said -- I don't think you can get it wrong on this exchange and to me it is the thought that counts. :) I am looking forward to seeing the postcards from various places and having an extra memory from the trip. :flower3:

Hi Everyone,

Abby here - friend of Steamboat Will (Warren) and Roo from Reading.

Looking forward to seeing everyone on the WBTA in Sept.

However, I think I may have missed out on a few things :0(

Anywho, will be great to catch up with y'all!

Hi to all the new folks.

You can 'not sign up' for anything and still plan on having a great time! Trust me on this!

What do you think of the next year's itineraries that came out this morning?

Hello and welcome Abby QueenofRa

Looking forward to meeting you in a few months and seeing Steamboat Will again.

You have lots of reading to catch up with!

Then a party in September to look forward to....party:

See you soon!

Sue and Richard

What do you think of the next year's itineraries that came out this morning?

Well we were REALLY disappointed in the WBTA for next year!

Would have loved to the EBTA with it's amazing itinerary but we have already booked the Panama in May 2015 and it's a cruise on the Bucket list to be crossed off.....

Don't know if we will be choosing another cruise for next year unless the WBTA is sooooo cheap due to lack of ports of call.....:confused3

What do you think of the next year's itineraries that came out this morning?

Talk about uninspiring!!! I was looking at possibly doing the PC cruise next fall but now it doesn't happen until past Mid-October. Hawaii looked interesting too but will have to see prices and what flying into Vancouver (which is pricey) and home from Oahu or vice-versa will cost. I'm thinking cruise pricing won't be cheap and airfare could double it!
