Hi Maelstromers,

Keep your fingers and toes crossed (okay you can uncross them for cramping and typing breaks :teeth: ). I will find out Monday night if we are going to WDW this May for the Flower & Garden Show  . The compulsive DIS reading trip planner is a little concerned about the quick notice trip though. However some how I will make it through :rotfl2:

It's a tough job, but someone HAS to do it!

I'm new here and have been checking stuff out. I found my way over here from the Trip Report Board.

I don't get Trip Reports. Why would you want to waste six months of your life writing about a trip you took to an amusement park?!

Why would total strangers want to read about it?

And what's with all of the personal details? Do we really need to know that much about you?! Just tell us what everything costs.

Not that cost matters. I never think about money. The more I can spend at Disney or anywhere else, the better.

Also, what is with all of this Maelstrom stuff?! Why the big deal about it being a fastpass??? Living with the Land is also a fastpass. So is Winnie the Pooh! We LOVED Maelstrom. Epcot is our favorite park.

Maybe someone can explain what all the noise is about.

ZZUB!!!!

YOU BIG FREAK!!!!

Get a LIFE!!!!!

It's Sunday NITE for goshgooglywooglysake! (babyhorsepony!)

Shouldn't you be watching reruns of Gilmore Girls... or countin' dimes...or washing out your Ziplock baggies... or somethin'?

For the love of God!

(But... actually, I loved this. I did. While taking a break from my Gilmore Girls... Season 2).

Do you have a degree in accounting??

Nope, not at all. I have 3 years experience in accounting though by way of an accident. I was hired some years ago as an Asst Systems Adm by a car dealership. Part of my job was to supervise 3 data entry clerks as well in the accounting office. About 6 months into the job, they reorged the whole company (7 different dealerships) and seperated all the accounting offices. The new office manager at one of the dealerships was from a Saturn dealership and knew nothing about the accounting mainframe and software, so they asked me to move over there with her. My job quickly shifted focus. I got a crash course in accounting and just sort of ran with it.

As my 7th grade math teacher always said (at least daily): "figures don't lie, but liars do figure... so it's a good thing that the figures don't"

Just keep your figures on the correct side of the balance sheet and you will do fine... none of that fuzzy math or creative accounting :)

I admit it. My name is SNAP, and I absolutely love Gilmore Girls. I DVR it every week and own the DVDs.

Luke is hot hot hot hot. :lovestruc

My sister says the way Lorelai's mind works reminds her of me...I don't know if she means it as a compliment, but I'm takin' it as one!

I think that hands on learning is great. At this point I do not feel that I know enough about accounting to be successful at all and I am getting ready to graduate, I have 6 classes left. But I think I am just overwhelmed at the moment.

Uhhhh..coffee lady - I just got a headache reading that. I worked as a bookeeper for four years. I really DO NOT wish to remember them, thank you.

We are having Harry Potter marathon day here. I'll try to check back later, but Sirius is about to appear in the fireplace. By the way - did I tell y'all the closing on the house has been moved up? April 28th! YEAH BABY!

pongoperdigirl - I have a BS degree in accounting and I am currently working on an MBA - accouting major :wave2:

For all of my education I truly believe that the work experience is where you gain your real understanding. Accounting is so much different in the workplace than in the classroom. I have seen people do wonderful accounting or bookkeeping with nothing more than a high school education and have seen so called educated accountants do well lets just say less than steller jobs as this is a family site :teeth: . I could turn your hair white with stories of the messes that I have cleaned up ;)

Anyway don't worry about not feeling ready you will gain the experience on the job. Just remember that debits have to equal credits and that being conservative is always the right approach.

Okay accounting talk over. Back to your regularly schedule program folks :rolleyes1

is a fastpass??!!?!?!?!?

Spring ahead is too. A fastpass to nightmare bedtimes. Man. And I don't get to book a free dining trip because Mr. Silly has gone all fiscally (or however you spell that) responsible on me.

Good for you getting your MBA, I might try to get mine later but I just want to graduate.

Sadly, I really enjoy accounting :)

I remember those days very well - well I remember them now too as I can't wait to graduate too :teeth:

Accounting is an mostly and either love it or hate it field and I too love it. Most that hate it tend to think we're nuts but we are Maelstromers so its all cool :smooth:

Mel!!! I have been watching Gilmore Girls...Season 2 today, too!!! Got the DVD from my kids for Christmas, but I had to watch season 1 first. Lovin it.

And you guys are so smart figuring out "not zzub" and the Buzz backwards thing. I feel like an idiot for not thinking of Buzz before now. Of course, I have been prounouncing it Z-zub all this time in my head. I don't know if I'll be able to adjust now!!! :confused3

Glad things have slowed down in both places this weekend. It's so much easier to catch up!
