sometimes being a step mom is so NOT a fastpass...it's like...the 50th ride through It's a small world...in a row...you want to stomp on the little people singing...but you can't because they aren't YOUR little people...even though they KNOW you HATE that song and are singing it extra screechy just to nudge you...
RAR...at Daddy and MissKaty's house we do NOT say YUCK to food put in front of us...even if it's like...belly button lint with toe jam sauce...we do NOT say YUCK...why? Because it's RUDE that's WHY. They know this...I know they know this because we go over and over manners...but yesterday we were with Mommy and grandma and grandpa and when we say Yuck over there we get different food
as TJ reminded us this evening as he was on his way to timeout for saying YUCK. Which really stinks because he is only 4 and it's not his fault that the rules are so different from here to there and he is allowed to be SO naughty (we're talking kicking and hitting grown ups, throwing rocks at his sister till she needs a stitch...WHY didn't anyone STOP him for pete's sake?!) and allowed to be SO fresh it takes my breath away. But we can't parent him based on feeling sorry that his life is the way it is or he'll never have respect for the rules here...which he totally does, but "forgets" sometimes.
I have a vision of them in therapy someday...telling stories of their wicked step mother and how she wouldn't let them have bad table manners b/c she was raised in Texas where bad table manners were akin to murder in some households!
I may have to start a "Step momming is H-A-R-D" whine/vent thread...
how's everybody elses day?
