That is indeed my lovely wife. Despite her look in the picture, she is only 6 years younger than me (33 and 27). It was taken in the Lemon Tree resturaunt just outside Blarney Castle in Ireland.

I'm really very lucky to have her. She is pretty much interested in all the same things I am.

And she knows that all my flirting/shennanigans are merely play.

Okay, today is not-so-happy because I have guilt about whining about my whiny daughter yesterday. Turns out she's a little sicker than I thought. Strep (again). She is proving the statistics wrong (that say you "can't" get strep before about age four. Who made that up?) Sweet thing is just miserable right now. She was coughing this morning and made herself throw up. Just a little, in the potty. When I said I was taking her to the doctor, she collapsed in front of the door and started crying huge tears and saying she didn't want them to give her a shot. (Which they did the last time she was sick, with pneumonia.)

My daughter, who does not take naps, has already fallen asleep three times this morning. She does NOT feel good.

So I am home today. And if she stays as quiet as I expect, then I should be able to catch up, I hope.

morning strommiieeewammmies!!! i am off to page 459 where i left off last night! had a great night with both kids sleeping through the night! NO atomic poops or wet beds int he mornings!!! the Baths went well and the bathroom was NOT soaked!! i got a shower BEFORE 6am!! AND we've already baked cookies!!!

Can I tell you a little tale to make you smile? and feel less guilty?

On the one and only family camping trip we took when I was a kid, my brother came to my mom crying that he'd been stung by a bee. She (an ER nurse, no less!) blew it off and told him it was probably a mosquito. My brother was probably 5 or 6 at the time. Everybody went on with whatever.

A few minutes later, he came running over again and his leg had begun to swell. Mom realized that it must in fact be a bee sting, and whipped out her epi pen (none of us were known to be allergic, but she had one just in case.) My brother was wailing "I TOLD you it was a bee ... now my leg is going to fall off ... are you HAPPY now??"

It all turned out fine -- but we still tease my brother about it. Hm. Actually we tease my mom about it too -- seeing as she's the one who didn't take him seriously at first.
