Horsegirl -Gem - My old college roomy - YES! But somehow Splenda has been working it's way into my diet. Vomiting just doesn't seem to be working for me.

Yeah but does she buy her own gifts? :rotfl:
I bet you make her laugh all the time Lou. That is more important than gift giving skills.

Wow talk about a delayed reaction.....that was like 400 posts ago! :p Are you in the Lehigh Valley area? I live in NJ but work in LV. I also have a DD starting college in the fall. This is getting (as pongo would say) creepy dee.

Not bad. Just incompetent. Err. Somewhat. In certain areas. :rolleyes1

In a little town called Penn Yan, NY. Sheri may have heard of it.

May I also add, that I also graduated in 1986 and 1999. So can I pretend those were the first times? And I walked everytime cause my kids thought it was the coolest thing ever that their mom was always going to college. I just wish I could decide what I want to be when I grow up? :rolleyes1 My dad is just happy it doesn't have to pay for it anymore.

Yes, my sentiments exactly. Mine has many, many wonderful qualities. Gift-buying just doesn't happen to be one of them.

Morning all!

Grammy glad you are back. I am way behind on the TR boards. The Riverwalk is so pretty. They just put in a Rain Forest Cafe so we ate there for lunch. Kids liked it. Spent a small fortune on flashing cups...

Anyone know if "the Perfect engagement goes perfectly wrong" get another update? He is funny and sweet but we need to teach him to change his title when he updates...

Pongogirl-Love all the little details of your wedding. We forgot to order a cake knife/server thing for ours. Ended up using my MIL's which was sweet. Felt like an idiot though.

Yzma-It will grow on you. That movie invades your mind and haunts you after you watch it. Maybe we will pop it in today... so I can get some new lines to quote.

horsegirl :wave2: I was at a huge birthday bash last night at a neighbors house. Walking distance parties are the only kind I really enjoy anymore. Strange crowd though. Half family (who I have know for 8 years) and half PTA ladies that I know but never socialize with... well I guess I just did... yikes.

LaLa and GADISNEYGIRL can you post the bread pudding recipes? I have a great one that calls for sour dough bread and 8 cups of cream from a Cruise... I love bread pudding. Haven't made one in weeks now... weeks I tell you!

GeorgiaAristocat A helmet for your birthday. I will have to think on it to see if I can top that. Steve never buys me gifts. He 'lets' me buy my own. When we were dating he won a Disney Mug and gave it to me. My first gift from him ever (unless you count soy sauce, I don't). Little did he know how perfect that was. Since then nothing stands out. Mostly electronics which we pick out together and give to each other as a joint gift. Or he takes the kids to World Market and has them pick out stuff. He did buy me some cute ceramic frog dishes from there one year, that he knew I wanted... still thinking about it... no, I think you win with the helmet story. The dubious honor is yours :rotfl2:

GADISNEYGIRL and GeorgiaAristocat- So are you going again? :teeth:

I think I've been to Penn Yan. A friend of mine's family had a place on the Finger Lakes (Lake Khuka I think (sp?) ). That sounds familiar. Long time ago.

Hey, where did they all go?

Getting last minute Disney on Ice tickets?

Haley - VW guy did put up a new installment - at least it was new to me.

I told Audrey that we couldn't go back. Reminded her that we're going to WDW for her birthday and that she would get to talk with the princesses and show SW her dress then.

(ohhh, so cute, she just walked in with her mickey ears crown that I paid an ungodly amount for yesterday. . .)

And just to clarify . . . I did NOT get a helmet for my birthday. I got an OFFER of a helmet.

He never did buy me a helmet - so I bought my helmet for HIM for HIS birthday six months later (and a real present, too, of course).

I think you still win. :rotfl: So has he gotten any better at gift giving, or have you gotten worse? At my house we are both rather lame at this point.

I have heard of. I'm not sure where in relation to Syracuse that is though. I am slightly directionally challenged now that I have a gps.

Girl, you gotta learn from the master.

Sheri - Go west and slightly north. Some map reader I am.

Lou - It is Keuka. My dad was big on all girls schools, so I did a little time there also. Poor soul, just didn't understand all girls schools brought out the guys in droves. They bussed em in. Yep! Good times. :thumbsup2

BTW - how's this for irony. I signed up for an online weight/diet management type thing. It sends daily emails - recipes, workout ideas, etc. What folder does my email automatically deliver it to?

The bulk folder. Talk about freudian. :rotfl:

OK, I'll check in and TRY to keep up with you 100,000wpm gals.
Some of us have been trying to fulfill our obligations to complete trip reports instead of slummin' over here. I slum here, though, with my eyes when my fingers need a rest, which is every 10 mins or so. God gave me many gifts (I think), but fast typing is not one of them. At all. I'm no Mel in that way. Talk fast, think fast, walk fast, type slow. Also choose not to run. Ever. Slowly. Not fast, really. Brain moves faster than fingers. TMI? Get it?

Anyway, I feel all bad when I don't post on the TR for a few days so I try to catch up. Then I get sad b/c I have nowhere near as many readers as the ZZUBs, LaLas happyhaunts, vettechicks, horsegirls, well, anyone, of the world. Of course, I am doing it for me, right? And thank you people for your posts there!

Anywho, now that I have your full attention, I will let you know I am 1981 high school girl and 1984 college grad. So when you wanna Bruce Springstein, Billy Joel, Chicago, Eagles, Stones...I'm with ya.

Yesterday was an interesting day for the Fixers so I may post that little story here later if we all seem bored and I get computer time:) from the boys. Promised them RollerCoaster Tycoon building time this afternoon. The story involves baseball, DS12's knee, and my 25th hs reunion, so don't get too excited. No bodily functions unless you count breathing.

Off to get out of church clothes and into my smooth clothes (as the CookMaster says).

Grammy, missed ya ;)

I'll chime in with a DH birthday error.
We had been married 3 mos. (now 18 years of wedded bliss...) when dh gave me golf clubs for my birthday. Never played, never watched, never mentioned golf. I cried for a week. Now I give good hints and that is one of our (his) favorite stories to tell in young married groups.

In marriage, you either get control OR surprises, not both. Which is more important to YOU?
