Well we decided to rename all the DH's Blackberrys "Crackberries"... yeah it gets worse.

you're not calling me a crackhead are you? You won't be laughing when I whip out my ipod and can instantaneously peruse any restaurant menu with a quick flip of the dial, now will you? :rotfl:

We'll try. They said something about income limits , so I assumed we didn't qualify..DH makes pretty decent money. I'll try though. He's the ONLY one working right now....so even though he makes decent money...we always seem to be struggling...4 kids and all. There is never enough money. Abby our youngest is going into Kindergarten..so I'll be going back to work soon after 18 years. Oi!!!

Man this is a great topic for a PUI (post under the influance) but did you try your taxes both ways (joint and separate)? Sometimes, if one parent makes less or stays home you can come out ahead this way.

Hope was our friend this year, but we didn't get the full credit. Maybe we should have more kids? No that will back fire, I guess, unless we convince them not to go to college....

Just thought i would share this picture....

Hellooooo? Anybodeeeee home?

I can't sleep, so I thought I'd check in.

Okay all you night owls -

WAKE UP!!!!

Well, back from Disney on Ice. I had 2nd row seats behind the bar. Sigh. Couldn't score floor seats. Which didn't matter until the end when Audrey was FRANTIC to show Snow White her Snow White dress. It just wasn't possible to get her ringside fast enough, so after a magical two hours of wonder and excitement, we had total meltdown.

There's just no explaining to a 3 yr old in total meltdown that she is going to get to show Snow White her dress when we go to the world.

Yeah, it was a little difficult getting her out of the arena.

Once again, I was struggling with 500 things in my hands and the husband actually walked ahead (and off) at one point. I really need to train him better.

Then, of course, as soon as we actually made it outside, the inevitable "I want to see it AGAIN!" started. Curse those DVD players. [hmmmm, I didn't check to see if we could get a DVD version (Lightbulb! a thought . . . .)]

Poor little princess recovered in time to eat all the chicken off of MIL's boyfriend's pizza at Carrabba's.

Again, more training needed for the husband.

We (that is, He and the Princess and I) were supposed to go eat after the show. Einstein decided to invite MIL (and, therefore, our baby boy) and her boyfriend to join us. I like them all, don't get me wrong, but I was looking forward to actually getting to EAT a meal in the restaurant.

Well, we all know THAT won't happen with a 22 mo. old. And it didn't. Again.

But I had to forgive the rugrat this morning when he woke up with his ear oozing stuff. Again. (He got tubes last fall - now I can actually SEE the evidence of all the ear infections.)

Anyway - I guess it isn't reasonable for me to see if any of the CHEAP tickets are available for today's show, then just position myself for a ringside run, right?

Oh, and Sheri -
LOVE the necklace.

Again with training the husband - I have given up in the gift department. I, too, make a list (unless I decide that it is something that he couldn't handle even then, and buy it myself, wrap it myself, and put it under the tree.)

Yes - here is the genesis of THAT tradition:

It was my 30th birthday. I was freaked out about turning thirty. It was also less than a month before our wedding.

On my birthday, we woke up (please don't judge - I don't advocate living together, but somehow, it happened . . .) and he FAILED to say "Happy Birthday."

I went off to work (he had the day off). I called him mid-morning b/c I had forgotten some paperwork and needed it that day, could he please run it to my office?

Meanwhile, HIS MOTHER had sent me flowers.

He arrived at my office, gave me the paperwork, told me they wer nice flowers and left. Without telling me "Happy Birthday."

I got home from work (@5:30) and he was in the yard - filthy from working outside all day.

He came inside at about 6:15, and said "Happy Birthday! I thought I'd take you to the motorcycle show before we go to supper!

(A different story - but he had a motorcycle that he liked to take rides on, but I couldn't go with him b/c I didn't have a helmet.)

"Why do we need to go to the Motorcycle shop?" ask I.

"Well, I thought I'd get you a motorcycle helmet for your birthday!"

I started laughing. Out loud. Really. And then I realized he was serious.

"You're not serious . . ."

"But you said you wanted one!?!"

"But NOT for my 30th BIRTHDAY!"

So, he got cleaned up, we DIDN'T go to the motorcycle shop. I had mini-meltdown on the way to the restaurant (ironically, Carrabba's again) and he was flumuxed.

Once arriving at the establishment, I ordered myself an adult beverage to calm my nerves. AND I GOT CARDED.

He never did get me anything for my 30th birthday . . .

I now buy my own presents.

GaA, I feel your pain!! We were about 6 rows up. Ironically, we turned down floor seats (in that end section) for the ones we got. I think what we got actually WERE better seats...but we didn't know about the mini-meet-n-greet thing. Wesley was also having a meltdown. BUT I WANNA SEE PRINCE PHILLIP!!! Mark, who had a funeral 45 minutes after the show ended, left before it was actually over, so I tried to explain to Wesley that in less than two weeks, he and I will be at WDW, and think of all the characters he will get to see then. In fact, think of all the characters you've already seen. Wesley, in your short 4 years, you have seen more characters than most people get to (or WANT to) see in a lifetime. And THEN started the, I want to watch it again, whine. Not helped at all by the fact that last night, our best friends called us from the 7pm show. Which started the whole I WANNA SEE IT AGAIN thing. Ungrateful little brat!! Just kidding. I think! ;)

Our night (that is, mine and Mark's) was greatly improved by dinner, which consisted of the flank steak and couscous salad from Boma's. Got the recipes on line, and they were very, very close, if not dead-on! But even better... the bread pudding and vanilla sauce from 1900 Park Fare. Mark said mine was even better than theirs. Hmmm, how'd that happen?? Next to try will be the Bananas Foster Bread Pudding from 'Ohana's. Not for a while, though. Mark had a serious sugar overload last night. Yuck!

Rhonda- did you get the recipe for the banana bread pudding with vanilla sauce from Boma? It may be pretty much the one you made last night except with the bananas. I made that along with the upside down pineapple cheesecakes from Boma one night. Both turned out awesome. Yeah, we had a Boma desert blowout night. I got the recipe for the Zebra Domes but decided against attempting it. I love their Mango salad dressing and made some of that. Yuck. I didn't have rice wine vinegar and thought using apple cidar vinegar would be okay in a pinch. What was I thinking? Talk about needing a fanny pack. :confused3

Poor lil' Audrey! But luckily for you Diz now installs bars for parents to help them with the meltdowns. What ya' get, a shot of tequilla? :lmao:

Pongo baby, cool cindy them stuff- no wonder you got the wedding blues girl, you got lots o' details, huh?

DMM-Michelle, am I right that you were class of 98? Everyone started saying 88, but i'm thinking you are a mere chick. Love that centerpiece! Wow, beautiful.

Kim

Sorry, you just missed me. Up until 3 am trying to figure out those bleeping downloads. Then this am, a lightbulb. Extract, zipped files must be extracted. Duh! And I think I left my green light on all night. Creepy. I am not a stalker, I swear. Well, maybe Tikiman, lol.

Morning All! Glad to be back. I have been a cleaning fool down the shore. Really had to clean, couldn't just set out the Pine Sol like at home. Our little summer estate :rotfl2: has not had a good winter. Still have lots to do there. DH has been a good little plumber fixing all our little leaks. I was just busy with the caulk trying to cover up all the plumbers crack I had to look at :rolleyes1 Thankfully, we were alone.

It took forever to catch up here yesterday. I just started catching up on the TR board. That will take a little longer.

Pongo- love all the wedding stuff. I am sure the wedding will be beautiful. Can't wait to see all those pics.

Haley - How's it going? I love river walk in San Antonio. I believe the only place hotter in August than WDW is the river walk. Would love to go back there but never again in August.

Went to a benefit Beef n Beer last night. Grammy was getting her groove on :lmao: Love that country line stuff. DH is a wonderful, and I mean wonderful dancer. Had to beat the ladies off with a stick. As usual, he says he didn't notice, but he had to extend the slide on his hat this morning to get it over his big head. And I think he may be strutting, like a dang peacock. Men, gotta love em.

Just for old times sake, Hazelnut coffee(my fav) in Mickey Mouse mug. Check on you all later.

Mel, I hope Calvin is better and it is warm enough today to not need the heat.

We live about 1 hour North of Philly.

Wow talk about a delayed reaction.....that was like 400 posts ago! :p Are you in the Lehigh Valley area? I live in NJ but work in LV. I also have a DD starting college in the fall. This is getting (as pongo would say) creepy dee.

And I don't know what all this talk about bad husbands is about. I've survived 22 years without my wife killing me so I must be doing something right.

Hey all! :wave2:

Man you guys had a late night last night.

Poopee, cold and rainy here today! Kids are watching this really strange movie I've never heard of.........it's called Napolian something :confused3

Hey, Horsegirl - I graduated in '83 from University. Maybe we can start our own little sub-club. Those '89ers were freaking me out - so young! (I wish....)

Loved the tales of Disney on Ice. I'm sorry to say my kidlets aren't interested in DOI anymore. Oh well.

Busy this PM - I'll try to check in tonight before Desperate and Grey's.

:moped: - just had to end with The FartMan!
