Okay, I just went ahead and booked with Dreams Unlimited. Turned out to be less than $100 more than renting DVC. It's worth it to me so I don't have to keep chasing rentors! Is it me or does there seem to be way more demand than supply these days? I bought the 5 day pk hopping/non-expiring, then I'm going to upgrade mine to and AP and DH's to an 8 day once we get down there. We did confirm that this is possible - no thanks to Disney Reservations who are clueless. Had to call the WL directly.

Well...darn. I'm too late. I saw your question several pages back but decided to catch up before I posted to see if you had already decided. Glad I waited!

Anyway, for less than $100 I was going to suggest going ahead with hotel reservation, especially since it'll only be the two of you. But, heck, you didn't need my advice. Where did you decide to stay?

There is a DVC member named cruelladeville (or something like that) that tends to have points to rent but doesn't really advertise on the rent boards. She has ALOT of experience with renting out her points.

Lou-those can be FREAKY! I'm just glad they found it before something really bad happened.

seriously now!!!.........mr.lou & ms. pongo...just a lil prayer for a full
& happy recovery!!! i, my family, totally believes/knows the power
of prayer. i've been blessed beyond my imagination..and have overcome
many sentimental events just from believing in.

it would take several novels to describe all the miracles..some..i only been
witnessed too. time spent with our families at disney is a treasure.....created
by our feelings and the experiences....as evident by some debates....
it sadden me seeing those wasting the oppturnity to share. sustaining life
is a delicate bondary between the stressors and body functionings...to
take a monent to appricate the caring we all received from others....know
this!..i would have never found sucess without the caring of others..yet
the more i have given back have triple the returns...insights are blessing
from learning thru our experiences. i love sharing new knowledge including
disney. that's why i enjoy trip reports especially those kind enough to
add their feelings. for example, our dear horsey girl..if she hadn't told
bout herself and her family structure..i wouldn't heve a clue exactly
how special/wonderful her disny adventures were..melons lil "shoes"
debactle was too sweet..and gave me joy toward my own lil family. all
you did lou by sharing your fears, was your best illlustration for merit!
[ i think the Bible is for all people and is sometimes poorly misunderstood.
it primary purpose is help one toward happiness, building the spiritual
relationships we all need to cope when our life expectations fail us.
here's what i think......the biggest creation isn't in creating a life form
but creating the things needed to sustain it.."judge not so you won't
be judged"...what most missed is the reference not to judge oneself
as never being unworthy...i know i have never earned all the blessings
but i don't let my faults overruled my belief. instead i try to appricate
by helping others...as i look back... i have grown from overcoming
challenges where i truly was carried thru! underneath all the fun, i
see real people ..with caring families...and great understanding.......
sorry...but this lil old me & my ways of thinking. oh,boy! i love sharing
with you guys!

Thanks for the validation, J and R's Mom! We are going to stay at the Wilderness Lodge. I've always wanted to stay there, but the Epcot resorts have always worked out to be more convenient. This time, we're just relaxing and eating and not commando-touring AT ALL, so I figured this was the best time to do it! Now I have to decide where we're going to eat!!!

My DH and I are planning on going to the World over Labor Day weekend, but we're going to wait and book until AP rates come out - obviously that could be a couple of months, at least. Problem is, I'd like to make some ADR's now, so I'm not fighting the free dining crowd by trying to make reservations 2 months from now (like I won't be fighting them already) - can I do this? Make ADR's with no hotel reservation? My gut says yes, but then sometimes Disney does things that don't make sense to me...

Anyone?

Brandt, isn't it true about the flamers?!? That's why the 'Strom is so nice! I think you can make ADRs without a reservation, but I'm not positive. (How's that for helpful?!? ) I would give it a try, especially if you know where you will be staying, and just tell the CM that you haven't got your confirm # yet. You have the option of putting in your home number during the intro VM part, so they must assume some people won't have their confirmation numbers on hand, right?

Gee, I wasn't stressing too much about ADRs because I was thinking it would be a quiet time....kind of forgot about the Free Dining crowd (and I'm part of it!!) Guess I'd better start plannin'.........

markymark I was able to download a podcast with WISHES on it!! OH MY it is FABULOUS and I cried when I heard it!! It is spectacular and so beautiful to hear so far from my WDW Home...

and HI to everyone else...I may step in to chat later but I AM really busy these days: weddings, first communions, birthdays, teaching....

a never ending battle....and the summer is almost here!!! Can't wait...I am with VETTECHICK on that countdown!!! HOOOORRAY!!!

You've got to be able to (like Grammy said, with a phone #) - else how would anyone staying offsite ever be able to eat TS in Disney? That's my thinking anyway.

And I got a personal shout out from l'il G - WOW! More to the point, I recognized the shout out - Love you too l'il G, and I'm not really that devious. I even promised to (gasp!) obey my husband when I got married. And I do, when he (unwisely) decides to give me a direct order. It's only happened once.
