RB, I live here, I'm familiar with the phrase everything's bigger in Texas...............it's not our motto however. Our motto is FRIENDSHIP. That very thing I have with you, hon. Our biggest legend in Davy Crockett. Everything's bigger is a fun, jokey kind of phrase, because of the size of the state and the size of our pride.
Our kids say the pledge to the Texas flag every day after the National one. They are taught to recognize the shape of Texas and where it is in the Union in preschool. They are taught about the Alamo at roughly the same town. Sam Houston is a household name. Every kid knows the state bird, tree, flower and two state animals.
We have a LOT of state pride.
I just didn't get how that translated into us not wanting to go to NYC.
I am a Texan, born here and hope to die here, as the saying goes. I have been to Florida, Mexico, Oklahoma, Missouri, Kansas, Tennessee, Washington D.C., Virginia, Colorado, California, Arkansas, New Mexico and Louisiana. I enjoyed all of them.
Now, relax, my friend. It's not a big thing................
