Persistent little devil.................you ARE destined to be a lawyer.

I am a perfectionist. As with most perfectionists, I constantly fall short of my goals. I am intimidated by those I perceive to have come closer to my goals than I have. Therefore, I am intimidated by those who have done more difficult schoolwork, have more prestigious jobs, have more money, are thinner, are better dressers, are prettier..................you get the picture? I actually recognize when I'm doing it, and I was poking fun at myself a bit.............but it didn't come across that way. I was avoiding the explanation because it is an irrational feeling, and does provoke an emotional response, even having to explain it.

Would you like to know how I became this way or is that sufficient??

Well, that is more than I thought I'd get..but there is ALWAYS someone smarter, with more $$, thinner, prettier....yada, yada

We all have insecurities and issues...mine is a BIG father one..hence the 2 divorces....etc...

I am sorry to provoke an emotional response..but you posted it, so I thought it was fair game. So sorry if I opened a wound.

You are a great wife. I envy you for that.
