Ahhh....you lucky ducky...windows shut TIGHTLY. MIL/FIL go to a town in Texas called Harlingtongen (?) something like that that is near Brownsville???
Are you familiar or ever hear of that town???

Yes, Harlingen........EXTREME South, I went there to observe a teaching program we use now.........actually a little West I think, to Alamo. We had a team of teachers just get back from there observing their dual language program. My friend and I will be team teaching dual language next year.

Not THE Alamo, that's in San Antonio.........South Central, but not that far South.............Alamo is a small town near Harlingen...........almost to Mexico, about 30 min to the border.

That sounds so cool, so will both of you be in the class at the same time, or will you tag team, or just job share? I have a friend who job shares, she and another teacher teach 1st grade. One teaches Mon. & Tues. the other teaches Wed. thru Fri. It works well for them, as they have similar styles and personalities. Won't work for everyone though, I'm not sure I would job share, I'm too hands on, I'd want to be there for everything.

And keep drinking!!!! (non alcoholic tho')

DUAL LANGUAGES....come up to MASS (the state of confusion) none of us up here have even MASTERED one language yet....can you tell with words like WICKED and GRILLE (for face) and CRIB (for your home) etc etc...


ETA: Maybe I better just speak for MYSELF, before someone from MA gets ahold of this post and gets reallllllly at me....so I am taking all that back and saying JUST ME, I cannot even master ONE LANGUAGE...

My friend and I can speak without speaking...........we hold whole conversations with looks, drives the other teachers nuts. We'll have two homerooms, they'll go half the day with me in English and half the day with her in Spanish.........they'll switch midday. I have no idea how this is gonna go........it's an adventure!

My DS in the UK...the all call him the "crazy American"...and they constantly ask HIM to talk S L O W E R because they cannot understand a thing he is saying....

Sounds like fun!! I'd definitely give it a shot. So will you actually have two classes and just switch in the middle of the day?

Do you know when I was 12 we moved from Virginia to NY and my first day of school everyone, teachers and students asked me the same thing!
