Well I only came on at 10 and I have been ON TOP of the RI CLUB FIRE Thread all night....a real passion for me...RI losing 100 people in a fire...

So I have been back and forth....

How many students/children will you have?

Well tomorrow it will be only one. She is 10 yrs. old, considered sever handicap. She is non verbal, so communitcation is challenging, but I've been with her before and she is comfortable with me. It helps in this class if you are not intimidated by mentally challenged children. We get autism and a multitude of issues.

My sister has been doing that as well in Maine. She actually RIDES THE BUS with her student!!

I hardly think so, but she only goes a part time day, so I'll be there from 9:15 until 2:30, then I'm done, but they pay me for the whole day.

My sister has been doing that as well in Maine. She actually RIDES THE BUS with her student!!

Wow that is great. I love the kids in this class, 4 of them qualify for one on one's, there is 11 kids in this class, then 4 one on one teachers, 1 regular classroom teacher, and 2 teacher assistants. So for 11 students there are 7 adults in there. It gets very crowded.

I believe she just has this one little boy. The parents bring him to school, but my sis rides the bus with him home every day. There are a number of teachers and they all work one on one exactly like you do! Their classrooms are awesome as well, all with private bathrooms. And their own door to the outside playground.

Well I don't know about all that, but there is something so innocent about children who have no preconceived notion about what goes on in the world and what the world expects of them. They just love everyone, but every once in a while their frustrations come thru, when they feel they can't do something, you just have to be patient.

I have had occasion to observe my sister and she is just so good with all the special needs kids. So gentle, so understanding and so loving. She has a Masters in Special Ed.

Well my degree is in Accounting. I was a CPA for a Bank and then a Stock Brokerage House until my first DD was born. Then I left the cut throat field of finance and decided to be a SAHM. Best move I ever made. Then when I put DD #2 in Kindergarden almost 3 years ago, I decided to volunteer in the school. The principal, approached me and asked if I was interested in working as a Contract Sub. I work only at their school and I check in everyday, to see if there are any jobs that they need, if not I just stay around the house or go in and volunteer at school. If they need me, I work. Alot of my jobs are pre-arranged though. I work most weeks 3 days a week.

Big weekend in Boston with all the girls. I am leaving at 11AM to meet up with the group!!
