Lori, tell us about yourself. Are you married? Got kids? Where do you live?

I just saw this post, that’s what I get for reading post's from new to old, :rotfl2:

Ok, I am Lori (duh) 33 years old, I am sarcastic (not always good in print), stuborn, fun (at least I think so), oppinionated, and way to emotional.

I have 2 kids Dustin age 14 and Skylee age 5 (hence my name DUSTYSKY.
I am married, my hubby and I have been together for 17 years.

We live in Florida (10 years now).
But HOME for me is and will always be Massachusetts!!!!

I just recently (11 months ago) went back to school (long story why) and gave up my favorite job SAHM.

I am now working in an office that I LOVE, but still dreaming of a way to win the lotto OR get paid for going to Disney (hey a girl can dream :rolleyes1 )

As you all know I love to do "stuff" on photo shop, it’s a great outlet for me.

Please ask anything you wish, most of the time I will answer, I might plead the 5th on occasion :rolleyes1

Hi Alisa! I was wondering where you've been! Glad you're back!

Magicmirror, I haven't seen you in forever! It's great to see you!

Dusty: Is Skylee a girl? I have a 5-year- old DD named Ainslee, she'll be starting Kinder this year. Her middle name is Skye.

Yes she is a girl, sassy and sweet, thinks she runs the world already

Sounds like my 4 year old girl, Alyssa. She probably won't be outgrowing it any time soon either. :) My 15 year old still thinks the world revolves around her. Girls, aren't we something!! :teeth:

Just making sure you girls know that we are trying to organize a WDW DIS meet in 2007. If you are interested, follow the link in my siggy and vote for when you would like to have it.

I'm back from my long weekend - it was sooo nice! How is everyone doing? I'm seeing some lovely signatures! :thumbsup2

Cassi!!! I'm so glad you're back! :goodvibes So, how was the getaway?

Mad Chatters,,, I love it.. I will be sure to check it out!! :)

Here's my sob (feel sorry for myself :teeth: ) story.(don't say I didn't warn ya :p ) My back, my poor poor back :bitelip:
I had lower back pain for years (on and off ) like almost everyone does from time to time. I never had to go to the dr. Then it all of a sudden got aweful, there was a terrible pain shooting down my leg. So thats when I went to the dr, and he sent me to the neurosurgeon, and he has me going to physical therapy 3 times a week (this is the last week of it, I think) and I had to go get a shot in my back. Just a little warning for if you ever have to get a shot in your back, they told me it was an epidural (which it was) They asked me if I wanted to be sedated, I'm not particularly needle friendly and sedation was through IV, so I decided I could handle the epidural without it. (Why get stuck twice when you can just get stuck once, and IVs hurt, or at least that was my thinking at the time) In the waiting room everyone has their little iv already in place to get the medicine to make them sleep while they have the procedure) at that point I was getting scared, wondering what they knew that I didn't. I learned my lesson though, its not like the epidural you get when you have a baby. They stick the needle (that I swear is a foot long and 6 inches wide  , felt like it anyway) they stick it in your back and into this thick thing that surrounds your nerves, you feel it pop, and it hurts soooo much, I was tramatized, thought I would have nightmares :lmao: , I didn't but, anyway, I jumped and it came out and he had to do it again, without telling me it came out. I honestly hated him at that moment. But my back almost instantly started feeling better. Not 100% so of course they still want to do surgery. Which I am going to try to put off until the end of the year so I can finish another semester of school, and make my Disney World trip. But before I had the shot it hurt so much to sit on my behind, I almost couldn't stand it, so I didn't get on the computer much, unless I was on my knees in front of it. :rotfl: And that's my story. SOrry so long.

OH, my word! How awful for you, MM!! I thought the having-a-baby epidural was bad, yours sounds like torture!

I'm glad your back is feeling somewhat better. Back pain is AWFUL. I've had incidents where I tweaked my back and I coudln't sit or stand. I'd have to crawl to the bathroom, crying all the way. I hope your WDW trip goes okay. Are you going to rent a wheelchair?

The beach was very nice.. wish I was still there! :rotfl:

MM-I'm so sorry to hear about all that! DH has back troubles too... I know what a pain it all can be! :sad2:

I hope the shot helps a whole bunch and maybe just maybe you won't need the surgery after all! I hope you're feeling better! :grouphug:

no, no wheelchair. :rotfl: I know the shots can come in a series of 3. My Dr. only wanted me to have one. I think he knew it wouldn't be enough for my problem. But if one helped, I want to have the other 2, I think they can only help. My physical therapist and both doctors all seem to think I will have to have the surgery. I originally hoped it would fix itself, I have resigned myself to the fact of surgery. I just want to do it on my terms, when I am ready, as long as it's not hurting, I don't see what the problem would be. I can't do it before Disney. As much as we have hyped it up and planned with the kids, it wouldn't be fair to them. They have never been. Hubby and I only once when we were teens. I will have to be choosy with rides. But that's ok. As long as the pain stays away, of even if it doesn't, I may be popping the pain pills, but we are going. I think if I can get a shot soon before we leave everything will be fine.

I think I always knew that eventually something would have to be done about it. But it was strange to me that it went from occassional pain to BAM!, "I hate to tell you this, but we are going to have to do surgery". I'm only 33, I had just gotten back in school, was planning our first Disney vacation, everything was going perfect, and It just happened so fast, I was really down about it for a while. Not at a good time, blah blah blah, but I don't think it would ever be a good time. It will be fine, I will do this semester, get some of the tougher classes out of the way, take my trip!! :) and take easy electives online for the Spring semester, while I recover, I will have about 3 classes left for the Summer Semester. And I'll be ready to get into Elementary Education next Fall. Everything will still be right on schedule. :)

Hi guys! How are ya this morning?
Check out my new siggie complements of the talented Lori! Its fabulous! Thanks again Lori!
glad to see you Cassi. I want to hear all about your fab beach trip!
Hi MM! Sorry to hear your back hurts so bad. I know those shots are no fun. My bro had to have back surgery (well he will need several, but so far hes had one) and they started him off with those shots. Not a happy camper was he! But I really hope your WDW vacation will not be affected by back pain! Pixie Dust for you!

Thanks everybody. It's nice to have an outlet sometimes.
I hadn't talked to anyone about it except my husband, its hard for me to discuss personal things. I know that's difficult to believe, since I have just spilled my guts on here. I just called my sister and let her know what was going on, so I wouldn't feel guilty when she got upset because I hadn't told her. :) I just don't like people worrying about me, and I didn't want people bothering me about it. I'm really private or maybe just a little strange, I guess. Thanks for listening.

Awww...shucks...that's what we are here for (that and to plan a Mad Chatters meet;) ). I sure hope your back is feeling better soon. That shot sounds like something right out of my nightmares for sure!! I would vote for sedation next time...one little prick in the arm cannot be on the same level with what you described!! A lesson for all of us...if they offer you sedation figure you should say yes!! ;)

Glad to hear you are still planning on going to Disney. I know we were really worried when dh had to have knee surgery last month. We were scared it would prohibit our Disney trip. Thankfully, he only had a torn meniscus (sp?) and he was able to have it shaved/flipped around instead of having to have it repaired which would have put him on crutches until right about now. OUCH. Luckily, he is all better now. In fact, they just released him from physical theraphy because his leg function was higher than most "normal" people...he still doesn't feel 100% of what he is used to but in time that should all go back to normal as well.

Paigeif you are checking in after surgery today...know that my prayers were with you! :) I hope you are now resting comfortably with a favorable report back from the surgeon! :):):)

Hey Mindy, I always forget to ask but always mean too...why do some people call ya Minty?
