Good morning Joanne :wave2:

Have a great day. dustysky is doing the sigs. She is awesome!!! Maybe you can ask. She posted her thread last night. Here's the link:

Thanks Joanne, Dustysky did it. Ask her for one, she's really nice.

Mindy, I have nothing against childless people! I just hope childless people have nothing against my children (I know you won't, but some of the threads around here, just make me think everytime I see someone without kids they're gonna hate mine). And I actually am able to talk about something other than my kids.

Good morning Bonnie, Karen, Lori. :sunny:

Well, gang, I probably shouldn't have done it, but I posted this thread:

You NEED to be in Sunday School..........

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

...........is what another mother said to me when I picked up DS from Sunday school today. I was 3 minutes late, very first time I have been late in the whole year we've lived here, through Sunday School, two Vacation Bible Schools and youth activities for older son.

I apologized to the teacher, saying "I'm so sorry, time got away from me." And this other mother standing there, who presumably had just picked up her own, looks me up and down (I was wearing shorts and a tshirt) and says, "You NEED to be in Sunday School"........emphasis on the NEED.

I just said in a breezy voice, "Well, that's a whole other issue" and went on.

My older son asked me why she said that as we were leaving, and I told him that some think adults need Sunday School to learn your path, stay on your path, or commune with like-minded people. I told him I have not felt the need for any of that at this point, but it's fine for those who do want it. I also reminded him that we are DAILY Christians, praying and serving God in our daily lives, not just on Sundays.

I thought it was quite a judgemental thing to say.

Think they're gonna roast me alive?

that's was rude of her to say that.

you can tell your son sunday school obviosly doesn't help adults to be a better christian! :rotfl2:

Thanks. So far supportive replies, though one did bring up the fact of how I was dressed. I answered that.

Oh, by the way Joanne, I was, shall we say, less than pleasant at 15. I consider myself quite pleasant now! This too, will pass!

Paige and Jay, I hope you don't mind a kidless person joining you on the DIS meet? If it helps I can bring my cabbage patch doll-she'll always be my first child-I've had her since I was 5!

Mindy, we don't care if you come with a kid (Cabbage Patch or "home grown") we just care that you come!! :):) It will be so much fun and NOT to be missed!! :)

True (and funny now but I got upset at the time) story, we were at Disney one Feb. and we were watching Tarzan Rocks. An older couple (white haired older) sits down next to us and the woman starts ranting about how many kids are at WDW. I am not sure if she was blind (my three boys were sitting right next to me) or just a little off or really rude but she kept saying how all of these kids were just taking away from what WDW had to offer and she had come this time of year to avoid the kids running wild. **Uh...okay this is WDW...not the senior center** Then she goes on to tell me how this very thing plagued her on Mother's Day too...she and her girlfriends who all love Disney wanted to celebrate Mother's Day away from their kids/grandkids as a day just for themselves and were taken aback when they saw so many kids at the parks. I remember one line to the word "What kind of husband doesn't let his wife have some time alone for Mother's Day" I didn't know if I should smack her or cry for her. What a sad, sad woman to think that Mother's Day is all about getting rid of the kids:(

Hi Jay. I went up to clean DS's room. I am waiting for my mom to get here and go brave the mall.................

Good luck Paige!! Pixie dust and prayers are with ya! Take good care of yourself!

I pop on for a few minutes and everyone is gone. :(

We went to church, then ate lunch at Five Guys. We are getting ready to go on a little road trip to Fredericksburg. I've been there once before when DH and I came to VA to visit back in March. They have AWESOME little shops in old Fredericksburg.

Have fun Bonnie! I am in and out today. Trying to get some last minute stuff done (I am the manager of my son's soccer team) and trying to get some last minute planning done for the school year. UGH. Everything starts all at once!

That would be SO nice of you, however can I request it be no-carb cake and tea..... back on the ole' diet wagon again tomorrow :(

Oh, did I forget to mention, calories don't really exist at this tea party...so everyone can eat anything they desire and still look as trim and fit as we all wish we were (some of us **ME** have to wish harder than others;)).

Good luck with your diet. I wish I was having better luck with mine!!
