The Mad Chatters thread Part 2

Oh, Jay, my class.........such good kids. Pretty low in reading and math, seem to do well at handwriting, haven't asked them to write "out of their heads" yet.

Lots of ESL guys, resource and speech, and two emotionally disturbed, so we'll be doing a lot of character ed both to help with social skills and vocabulary. I'm reading them 5 books out loud a day to build language and concepts, besides their reading books.

They get chatty, but they are easily redirected. Great hallway behavior, classroom behavior. Only one destructive to his supplies. Only three nonstop talkers, only two play-inside-the-desk, only two ruler twirlers, and all but one are absolutely respectful and well-mannered.

We have so many new programs to do this year, Math is totally revamped (and I don't agree with the new curriculum), we had revamped reading last Spring, writing is in flux, science and social studies are all new programs. Gonna be a busy year!

Gotta go play Pokemon Sorry for a bit, then I'll be back!
