The Mad Chatters thread Part 17

Hi chatters! I have a confession to make. I still haven't shipped my package. I've had it boxed up and ready to go since Thursday, but I have this irrational aversion to post offices, so...... And I've been so stinking busy!

We went to OKC last night because DD had state competition this morning. They took state in kick!! Which ended up being the only dance that she was able to do. She sprained her ankle Monday and was on crutches this week to try to heal up for competition, but she's limping around again. She knew that would probably happen though, so I guess it was worth it to her. She was braced and taped, but it just was too soon. The dance they do is really tough on their legs and ankles - think Rockettes without high heels.

So how has everyone's weekend been? I see some folks have been shopping. I still have um, nada. I have absolutely no excuse either. I have the money, the mall is across the road from my house, Target is less than a mile down the road, and I sit here like Christmas is a month away. Wonder if certain people would get the hint and move if I acted like I forgot Christmas?

Well, you know getting this sizeable rump anywhere takes effort. I'm not good at doing effort. And now today I have an excuse. Rella and Rob were kind enough to send their crappy weather my way so it's all icy outside! This Bama girl doesn't do icy. It makes me want to hole up like a big ole bear and wait for spring. I may do some online shopping today though. I can do that sans bra and with a big ole cup o' joe.

Hi Chatters!

Rella -- I was a good boy today and drove from the Liberty area to Independence to buy ice melt and treat my maternal grandparents' driveway.

I also went to Sears and bought a car battery that ended up costing me a very large amount of money -- not because the car needed additional repairs but because I went into Independence Center and did some shopping and found something that I just "had" to get the family.

We did go downtown to a Christmas party last night...
the roads were actually better last night than they had
been yesterday morning!
Kansan/Missourians are so funny about snow only about half the people showed up! Yikes! The ground is white!

PS. I went shopping at Crown Center Tuesday.... was that you?????

Have you made it to Chipotle yet??? I LOVE their veggie burritos... and so good for you too at only 1000 calories!! Yep that's right even without the meat!!! Scary huh! But sooooooooooo good! Worth every last one!

If it was a devastatingly handsome guy, that WAS me! Actually, I'm pretty sure I was in the office all day Tuesday. I was over at d'Bronx in Crown Center on Thursday a bit before Noon.

Howdy, Chatters!! We're home!

We had a super fun trip and it sucked that we had to return home. We were supposed to come home last night, but we spent a LOT of time at Downtown Disney yesterday, so we only drove about 3 hours last night and stopped at a hotel near Savannah, GA. We had to drive the rest of the way today. But it wasn't too bad. We played "Guess my Disney character" 20 questions a LOT.

We had fun at all the parks. Caitlin's and Ainslee's favorite park is Animal Kingdom. They are serious animal lovers. Plus they loved Expedition Everest!

Dining places were Hoop Dee Doo Revue, Sci-Fi, Coral Reef, Cindy's Castle lunch, Rainforest Cafe. All were good, but Sci-Fi food kinda sucked, although we LOVED the atmosphere.

It was a fabulous trip, and now I am uber-excited for February!

I was way too tired this morning, so I skived off work. DH is staying home too. We have to take back the rental car and there is a ton of laundry to do.

Good thing too cuz the major ice storm is headed our way...
and expected to stall over Kansas City.
They say we may get up to 1 inch of ICE!!!
So if I disappear for a while it's cuz we lost our power...
which they are warning us about already!
