Mary, I am very sorry about your dad. My mom was told it was a matter of days, a few weeks at most...so I planned a "hurry it up" wedding so that she could be there...not only did she live to see our first anniversary, she also lived long enough to celebrate our eldest's first birthday. We did lose her almost 2 and 1/4 years after being told it was a matter of days, weeks at the most...but that time was a blessed gift in all of our lives.

Focus on building memories with him. Let the girls spend time with grandpa, YOU spend time just enjoying his company. I know it's hard...but my best advice (after having lost my mom and knowing we were losing her in advance) is to try (and it's not really possible to do totally, but try) to let go of the sorrow now. There will be more then enough time to mourn later...right now, CHERISH the time. Live every minute of time you are going to be granted with him in your life to the fullest. Even what seems horrid and beyond comfort now will one day be a cherished memory. I never would have thought so...but I do cherish the time now that I spent in my mom's hospice room holding her hand and reading to her. I cherish the tiny forkful of tuna casserole she was able to swallow (one of her favorite comfort foods) on her last day with us after she hadn't eaten for a week. I cherish being there to be able to put lip balm on her and give her ice chips. Looking back, even the hardest moments bring me comfort and joy.

I wish you that same blessing. And Mary, do hold on to hope. Miracles happen. Doctors can be wrong. Medicine can, "with no chance", prevail.

I will keep your entire family in my prayers.

What's this bologna about the pure and innocent Bonnie and Squiddy corrupting Lisa? WHATEVER!!!

You better watch out Lisa - I just may throw a frozen mickey bar at you when I see you next month!

(Bonnie - do you vote for pelting her with frozen mickey bars or beating her into submission with huge turkey legs?)

:rotfl2: Turkey legs! Turkey legs! Turkey legs!

I agree though...Lisa is full of prunes. You and I are nigh on to being plum holy! ;)

I know! I'm so excited! Except when I tried to go to Border's to get my ticket for my place in line (to purchase the book at midnight), the line was clear out thee store and around the corner! I was not about to wait in THAT, so I'm going to stop in at the Grand Hallows Ball, but I'll do my book-purchasing at Walmart, who is also putting it out at midnight tonight. They don't give out their wristbands until 8:00 tonight.

Can't wait to read it! :dance3: If I am not too tired, I'm coming straight home and begin reading it thru the night!! :yay: It will be fun to compare notes after we have all read it!

I just wanted to say Thank you to all of you for your kind words for my family and my dad. I was able to take him home for my mom yesterday. Hopefully, he is resting well today. They so far have been unable to retrieve the tissue to run the biopsy, but I am taking him back a couple of times next week to try and get one as a out patient. I keep praying that it comes back benign or that there is no mass at all. They think he has Bile Duct Cancer (which of course has a very long name, that I can never remember), and it is non treatable and it is inoperable. They say that the stint in his Bile Duct will have to be changed every 3 months, but they say he should only have 6 months or less before it begins to mastisize to other organs. But my dad is the healthiest man I know, so we are hoping and praying that he will far out surpass their expectations. If you all don't know, my dad is a Methodist Minister and has been for over 50 years, and he still preaches at 82 three times every Sunday. He has a great faith in God and is very at peace with whatever God gives him. This of course should give me great comfort, but my selfish side doesn't want my dad to die anytime soon, my girls want him to stay around long enough to perform their wedding ceremonies when they get married (yeah right like Glenn will ever let them have boys and get married). They understand that my dad is really sick and they know that he will probably die soon, but to them time is all relative, it has no real meaning. They know that our trip to disney is only 4 months away and that seems so close, but Papa dying in that time frame seems so foreign to them and it just doesn't compute.

But I just wanted to give you all as much an update as I could, and to ask you to all keep us in your prayers and to say thanks for the ones you have already offered.
