Hi E! Yes, I was at work earlier, but I got a call from DD's school saying she was sick and needed to be picked up. I'm pretty sure it's the stomach virus that's been going around.

Good Morning Mad Hatter Chatters: I want to tell everyone what a absolutely fun time we had with Spring Fling 2007.

On March 21, 2007 (Post 74394 Page 4960) the following was posted by JAYCNS (who is our resident planner/organizer) in hopes everyone who wanted to could participate!!! After that initial post date, Jay posted this many times again!!

Spring Fling Chatter Exchange

Important info:
1. To sign up please PM me by March 26. You will need to include your name and mailing address. Also a short list of what you would love to see show up in your spring fling package. For example, what do you love to snack on? Collect? Listen to? Any favorite scents? Colors? Characters? Just a few ideas to point your secret chatter in the right direction! Your "secret chatter" will be PMed to you on or before March 28.

2. You must mail your secret chatter's package out on or before April 10.

3. The suggested amount set for this exchange is $25.

4.On Wednesday April 18 we will meet here at 9:00 PM EST and open our spring surprises together! It will be one heck of a spring fling!

Thanks Tricia, I've had to do a lot of thinking about which direction I wanted to go with my career. These kids in this neighborhood are challenging, but they are also the ones who need me most. They have to have people who can look past the appearances and the posturing and the lifestyle and see that they are still children. Some people can't do it, and they come here and look angry all the time, and all their complaints are about surface things...........or things the child is not in control of. We're here to work with the children. Those people don't last here long. They move on to a neighborhood where the children are cared for and their appearances and mannerisms are more what they expect. Those children need teachers too, of course, and I thought about how much easier emotionally that might be for me. But I keep coming back to what these kids here need, and how often they don't get it.

Wow, how's that for getting on my soapbox.

I just put Drew to bed hoping he will take a nap! We have been up since 4:00am, and I am whipped. I took him to the Dr this morning and she diagnosed him with strep throat. I hope the antibiotics kick in soon!
