Oh, I've already started taking pictures to document the occasion! Just pictures of my sisters packing because their rooms are such a big mess!! My older sister is packing 2 huge suitcases and she just came downstairs and asked me if I think 10 sundresses is too many. Oh boy. I have no idea what you do, but good luck with the staying awake. At least you can be on the computer.

STEPHIE, you have NO idea how you have so brighten my horrible day!!!

THANK YOU from the bottom of my HEART!!! Girlfriend, you are ONE in a MILLION!!!

We have just returned from Mass General Hospital, Diana had her first post-op check with the hand surgeon. When he removed all the bandages and the temp cast from her hand there in front of all of our eyes was the scar...o..m..g..it goes from her knuckle on her pointer finger to her wrist. The surgery was to place the metal plates/pins/bolts/screws in her hand. We cried. AND Diana is still crying. The appt was at 8:20am. She cannot move her fingers at all RIGHT NOW. She will start physical therapy on Friday in Boston. It will take one year to resume full use of the left hand.

This is just so devastating and heartbreaking.

We were all just starting to do so well and trying to understand this horrible accident and then to see her hand today was just so upsetting.

I have tried hard not to keep replaying the accident in my mind but for some reason today brings it all back, Diana falling, the horse falling....

DH keeps saying "SHE IS HERE, SHE IS STILL WITH US, who cares about a scar when we know she is alive and with us"...and I know he is absolutely right but she is getting engaged and this is her left hand. (I am thinking like every girl would think.)

I look at the CO pics in my siggy and they were all taken before the accident and I can honestly say none of us has really smiled much since the accident.

Sorry about Diana's hand, Kar. I'm sure the scarring looks bad, but I bet it will fade more and more over time.

We were all so stunned and basically silent when the MD took all the bandages off that no one thought to ask about the scar fading. (I think we were afraid of what his answer might be.) I am so hoping it does. The MD was very positive in everything he saw. Said the hand was healing wonderfully and that the P.T. will get started and that Diana has a GOAL and that goal is to wear her ring.

Hi Friends!

It's raining here too, Steph. But I like it!! I had to go to a nighttime staff meeting tonight, then when I picked up DH we went to the Lego store and got the girls a lego set. We kinda took our time and played with the legos in the store.... It was fun.

Our doggie's cheek is all swollen up. I'm worried about here. Brent says we'll monitor it the next couple days and if we need to take her to the vet we will. The vet is so expensive though. So we'll see what happens.
