That gift thing is always an issue with older folks. They are almost impossible to buy anything for -- and they want to buy for you but can't shop easily and don't know what to get.paigevz said:I had a nice one. We're at the In-laws. Mom's called 8 times tonight, God love her! She's all freaked out about the party.
I'm going, she'd be a basket case if I didn't, I think. We still have ongoing issues over the drinks............and I finally got the presents so she can calm down about that. But now she's flipping about what to get my boys for Christmas, and dh and me.........and I"ve told her a thousand times not to get us grown-ups anything.
She's walking with a walker a bit, but to go shopping or anything long, she uses her wheelchair.
I talked my mom into doing a family gift... so she's getting us a new artificial tree -- which we need because ours was destroyed in a basement flood. She just told me an amount and I will buy it but she will pay. It's the best arrangement we've come up with. Unfortunately it won't be that easy shopping for her.
