I had a nice one. We're at the In-laws. Mom's called 8 times tonight, God love her! She's all freaked out about the party.

I'm going, she'd be a basket case if I didn't, I think. We still have ongoing issues over the drinks............and I finally got the presents so she can calm down about that. But now she's flipping about what to get my boys for Christmas, and dh and me.........and I"ve told her a thousand times not to get us grown-ups anything.

She's walking with a walker a bit, but to go shopping or anything long, she uses her wheelchair.
That gift thing is always an issue with older folks. They are almost impossible to buy anything for -- and they want to buy for you but can't shop easily and don't know what to get.

I talked my mom into doing a family gift... so she's getting us a new artificial tree -- which we need because ours was destroyed in a basement flood. She just told me an amount and I will buy it but she will pay. It's the best arrangement we've come up with. Unfortunately it won't be that easy shopping for her.

I got her a photo bag with places for pictures on the front. Now we have to get the boys' pics made. We've been so preoccupied that I sort of missed the window. We'll have to go to the Picture People now, and that's so much more expensive.

Oh... I just saw where you said you are in OK! And you go to Kansas on Sat??
So you have all that to look forward to! Well, hopefully it will all go smoothly.

Do the boys have cousins they look forward to seeing every year?

They love their Oklahoma cousins!!! They have a fabulous time. The girls are close to Big Son's age, and there is one other little boy close to Little Son.

The Kansas cousins are all much older or much younger than Big Son, so he doesn't have as much fun there, but there are tons at Little Son's age.

The girls are 12, 10 and 9. Big Son is 11.

The little boys (Little Son and cousin) are 6 and 4.

We have a new baby, and LIttle Son is fascinated with him. He's 6 weeks old and so tiny!

No school pictures?? Gosh... some of your Disney pics are so great -- could you get them printed in the right size at Kinko's or something?

I am usually DONE with everything for Christmas by this weekend... and I haven't even begun. Haven't done a single thing. It's no fun when you don't have much to spend... I'm still trying to figure out how we can make it seem like a normal Christmas for DS. It's doubly bad because since he's an only we've always spoiled him terribly at Christmas. I'm so afraid that no matter what we do he'll be disappointed -- because there's no way we will be able to do what he's used to.

We're in the same boat, sort of, except ours is Doctor's bills/hospital bills and prescription meds catching us. Even with insurance it's so much money.

I posted this before, but I am hoping that my big one isn't embarassed that he doesn't get as many as friends. Someone started a thread about how many presents the DIS kids are getting and my gosh, some get a lot!

My kids are getting 3 for sure, and I"m working on number 4. Money is very tight. We had to buy a ton of gifts for this Kansas party and the nieces/nephews birthdays, and we still have to buy for their Christmases too. I have 6 total to buy for there, plus two grown-ups we drew names for, and something for my dad.

The Disney pics aren't recent enough. No, I overlooked Big Son's school pics and Little Son didn't take any yet.

I really have been not paying attention to my world much................things have been slipping right through my fingers.............

Hey, RB, I see some of your official friends are on................

Oh my gosh that's a lot of gifts! YIKES!

It's fun to buy for the little ones, you can get a lot for not much. But when they get older what they want is soooooo much more expensive and they think they should get the same number of gifts!

I have lot's of god-children that I usually buy for plus DS but I just dont' know how I'll do it this year. But oh I so hate to disappoint them.

DS has asked for: a new bigger TV for playing his games on, an Ipod, a Nintendo Wii, a X-Box 360, a PlayStation 3 and "a bunch of new games".
Well -- even on a good year we'd never buy him all that!! But even one of those will be a stretch and I know he's counting on at least two. It makes me feel like a heal. But I know he'll live through it. In fact in the long run it's probably a good lesson in learning to appreciate what you do have.

Hey guys! Wandering the boards as usual, looking for night owls. Dropped by to say hi!

I feel for you RB, I think you have to stick with doing for yours this year. I'll bet he'll appreciate whatever you can do. :thumbsup2

Sure...........go play now. :teeth:

I'll just hang around.................

I'm about to crash... my wound up is almost un-wound -- but I'll go over and say hello. Since there's no school tomorrow I'll have a boy up at dawn! Isn't it strange how much earlier they wake up when they don't have to!! :sad2:

So nice to chat Paige. Have fun with your family tomorrow & Sat if I don't catch you again!

Bye RB.

I am beginning to think it is no fun to continually close threads.

Oh sweet... I know what you mean! There are lots of nights I'm here as last poster on every thread I go on... when my CP list is filled with me it's kinda sad.

I watched "A Touch of Mink" this afternoon. Doris Day and Cary Grant here's a quote:
"Oh dear... you can't sleep. Well you could try milk and butter"

Sounds yucky doesn't it... but that's what came to mind... silly me!

Love ya! I am crashing now!
