Welcome everyone! It's nice to have you along for this crazy ride! I'm attempting something that has never been done before, I'm taking the Queens of Louisiana to the sunshine state! This will be a crazy ride, and I hope you'll stick it out with us! This is my first attempt at a trip report so I hope I do okay! The next few post will focus on who I am, what are 25 queens going to Florida for anyway, and the best part of the trip-planning!! So you're back again?! FOOLISH MORTALS! Formally introducing myself, I'm Jillian, I'll be your host (ghost host?) through this trip report and I'm done with HM references I promise! I'm a 19 year old business student from deep deep in the swamps of south Louisiana (no I do not hunt alligators), and I have a passion for Disney! The bug hit me the summer of 2009 after my fourth (it was a delayed reaction) trip to Disney. I think it was because this was my first trip that I was old enough to realize who much work goes into everything Disney does, and I was just able to appreciate it's beauty, and it was all down-hill from there! Now I'm a certified Disney addict! There's not a day that goes by that I don't think of Disney and the great Walt. The DIS boards did not help my addiction one bit! I've been lurking on the trip reports for awhile now, but this is my first attempt at one! Along with college student, I'm also a daughter, girlfriend, and cause queen (more on that later). Here I am with my crown, my baby for the next year!





That's Mom, Dad and boyfriend at our last family Disney trip! It was the week before Christmas in 2009 and it was 27 degrees much too cold for our taste! But any time spent with the mouse is a good time! Enough about me for tonight! I hope you enjoy my PTR so far! Up next I'll be talking about why we're headed to the sunshine state! So, last time we spoke I said I would talk about why I was taking Queens to Florida, BBBUUUUTTT I lied. I know, I know, I'm terrible. I'M SORRY! Please forgive me!

But since you're here, I'm going to be talking about Queens today, about who we are, and what we are. I felt weird going on with the PTR and you possibly getting lost when I talk about all of us!

So first off, I feel we Queens get a bad rep. Movies and T.V. make us look rude and stuck up, we are the exact opposite! We are just young girls who are trying to spread the word about a local event in our great state, or an amazing charity. Which brings me to my next point, a festival queen , as I may refer to them, are Queens who are trying to represent the festival. They travel around the state trying to get the word out about the festival and have people come to it. These are the most popular Queens, we have every kind of Queen you can imagine. Sawmill Queens, Corn Queens, Pig Queens, Gun Queens, Hunting Queens, literally a Queen for everything. Next up, we have Cause or Charity Queens. This is what I am, my job is to travel around the state spreading the word about cancer. I attend Relay for Life's all around the state, I hold fundraisers and donate the money at my local Relay. The main Cause Queens are Relay Queens, but we do have a few others as well!

I'm the one crying like a baby, This is my first title and it means so much to me, cancer has touched my family and to be able to do this for them has made my life.

I hope this didn't bore you, but I wanted to take the opportunity to show you all that we aren't Toddlers and Tiaras, it's never like that at all. Please don't let those parents make you believe that. We are just like a sisterhood, we watch out for each other and we're all friends.

Hello to All! I hope you had a great week/weekend. I traveled to a Relay event and as usual it was amazing and inspiring! The time has come to announce where the Queens of Louisiana are going!

OF COURSE IT'S DISNEY WORLD!



Obviously! for the first time ever the Disney Princesses will be among Queens! We are very excited about going to Disney! I can't wait to be back at my second home!

BUT! We are also excited to announce that we will be attending another very special place in Florida.

That's right! We will be volunteering in the wonderful place that is the Give Kids the World Village! We are all so happy to be able to have the experience! I feel it is going to be a beautiful day and I can't wait to experience this with my Rhinestone Sisters and Mom!
