MMmmmmm love shrimp! I am grilling tonight! T-bone steak, some boneless chicken (want to really cook that so I can cut up grilled chicken for salads for lunch). Thinking baked potato, broccoli & carrots, and fresh bakery bread to go with it.

I miss the summer two years ago. My neighbor across the cul-de-sac has a fish store, and he was always bringing home shrimp, clams, crabs, fish. His daughters would show up on my doorstep about once a week with about 4 pounds of caught-that - day shrimp..with the heads on. My other neighbor, who got the same treatment, taught me how to pop the little buggers heads off..they have a spike coming out of their nose that is really sharp! Anyway, this sounds bad, but they were bringing over so much shrimp that I was starting to dread when they showed up. But they, did-all summer long and my freezer was full of cleaned, deveined shrimp.( i cleaned them as soon as I got them.) They also brought some clams which I think are disgusting, fish which I don't eat or cook, and some crabs that the mom cooked for me in some kind of Asian spices-they are Chinese..The crabs were delish- alot of work though.

I swear I never complained to them or even told them I had sooooo much shrimp, but last year I didn't get any. I think it was a bad year for shrimping. So this year I am hoping for a few. I can buy them for about $4/lb in the summer, too.

The scampi turned out pretty good, not enough garlic to me. DH whines when I put a lot of garlic in it, so I guess I backed off too much.

DH finally gave in to the boys begging and took them fishing. We have a pier down by our community pool where people have boat slips and you can fish in the marsh. I have no idea what kind of fish are there. I guess whatever lives in marshes, DS8 got bored and went down by the much and caught a couple of little black crabs with a big white claw. They are really cute. They were trying to get me to take them, I just kept saying, "Mommy doesn't do fishing, that's Daddy's thing." So he took them, got them set up and started taking some photos of them. They turned out pretty good.


SHORE-I am so sorry for all the anxiety you are going through right now. I hope everything turns out ok.

Week in review:

Lara is off this week. She's been shopping, got snubbed by a store clerk, got her hair cut and colored and she really likes it, took DS to the doctor and had a fishtank incident.

IAHD's daughter had a bday this week, where IAHD made not one but two really cute cakes.

JJ also had a daughter who had a bday the same day. JJ was in a funk and thought his dog was going to die, but the dog seems ok now. He needs a racecar (?) and is wondering why everyone is here.

Shay has returned to work this week, and told boss #3 (the one that she doesn't like) that she won't be helping him unless she has to. She went to the doc...today? yesterday? (can't remember) and asked the doc if she was supposed to be getting dark curly hair, to which the doc replied yes.

Shay's hubby, WardenJohn has joined us, but has been awol for a couple of days, due to something on the military channel he must see for the 500th time.

Tink is also really dependant on caffeine (that's you, right?). She had some kind of argument with her DD (I think) at 11pm one night while fire eater was on the phone.

Fire eater graduates tomorrow, has no internet service, will be staying with someone (his parents) for a little while, but should be back home in the next week or two (again, not sure of the dates). He also was babysitting and took the younger guys to Outback, but it seemed as though they behaved themselves. He ranked 3rd in the class.

MN Football Mommy had a flower pot adventure where her DD was painting flower pots for the grandmothers for mothers day. She was worried when DD started mixing the paints and came up with a poo color, but then they put sparkly glitter on them and they turned out gorgeous.

We have a new recruit, Fraggle, college student with a moldy shower curtain, new puppy, and a hatred for her psych class. We found out from her that cheap vodka tastes better if you run it through a brita filter. I believe that was her. Shay's daughter does this also, and there was someone else who's hubby was begging to try it.

Someone's going to Florida. Someone else is going to Hawaii. I can't remember who they are. Sorry!!

Mkop can't spell her own name right and got a tag to prove it.

TwinMom tried out for Wheel of Fortune, and got to go onstage, we'll see if she gets contacted to be on the show. There was something else that happened with her, but can't remember what it was.....

I think I need some ginko baloba or whatever that stuff is to help me with my memory.

Oh yeah, and we found out some of the most disturbing news.

IAHD cooks dinner 7 nights a week!!

And pudding girl's mom went into her room while she was working and stole poor puddin's $25 gift card, and vented about it, causing a 8-9 page rukus until the mod locked it and suggested puddin keep a journal if she wanted to continue to vent about her parents since she won't accept anyone's advice to move out.

Someone give that woman a Valium and a drink!!

Did he give you an asthma action plan with zones? We love ours...green, yellow and red. Helps us know when to treat ourselves and when to go in. Because of all of my son's stuff, we hit red faster than other kids...it helps to have the action plan available for the ER trips too.

Ok so now I was up all night bc DS5 (no NOT the one with the breathing issues that one slept like a rock, just like i told the Dr he does although he told me I must not be hearing him, DUDE I dont sleep I hear my kids) sorry fot the tangent, DS5 claimshe cant sleep and his stomach hurts again. He stomach was bothering him when we got home. I asked my mom what he ate, nothing unusual but he had gas all day. So last night put him on the potty, nothing, so when he woke up at 1;45 I asked him if he needed to go and he said maybe so there I was with him for a good long time and nothing. When I literally could stand up anymore, I convinced him to go back t be, took off his pj bottoms (he likes that ) and he eventually fell asleep

I can not even see straight now. Much Pepsi will be comsumed today.

I may need a Lounge recap if anyone is so kind since I couldnt make it there last night

Sorry you had a troubled sleeper, must be something in the air this week cause DD was like that too.
Well got #1DS to school by 7am & like 3 other kids are there, so I asked him are you sure we are supposed to be here AT 7? He said that's what his teacher said. Luckily the teacher/aide/office worker (not sure what she is just that she is like a crossing guard in the morning on the base enterance side of the school) said she would keep an eye on the kids so I could go home.
I wish I could go back to sleep but the twosome are wide awake now I might get a nap out of them today before school gets out My luck I won't be tired by then.
