Okay, this is pretty lame, but cause for celebration in our house.

Our dd is only toilet trained at school, and needs lots of prompts and reminders there. Recently she's been ignoring her Pull-up for the bus ride home and wearing her big girl underwear. (She's mentally disabled and a child with autism. Language is a HUGE obstacle for her, with her lack of verbal language and only a handful of sign words.)

Today she came home as usual. I wasn't paying too close of attention, and forgot to remind her to use the toilet.

She used the potty independently.

I am so proud of her, I almost can't stand it!

So now I will be going to Dana Farber for my treatments and I am good to go.

Dh and I were discussing if we were bad parents this morning bc we were doing the rain dance hoping it rains out tomorrow nights LL parade (it is sooo boring) and possibly Sat's games. Would love the paradeto be cancelled, if it clears for Sat then fine.

We used to do that rain dance when DS played baseball

And, I TRIED to be good and stay on my diet. I ordered the fish sandwich with no sauce, no fries. However, when I got home I discovered that they gave me a QP w/cheese and a medium fry. What's a girl to do? I was crampy, crabby and hungry (as all I had had all day was the 40oz. water required for such tests), so...I ate the burger. And a few fries. (DD ate MOST of the fries, however.) I am mad at myself now, but really...I probably should just get over it. I am pretty sure the excessive amounts of water in such a short amount of time had muddled my thinking, so I am blaming my doc for any weight gain incurred from the QPC and fries. It's only fair.

I can only speak for the Marine Corps on this one. The plan for later down the road is to allow civilians to move into base housing if they cannot fill it with military first. The priority would be military first, DOD civilians second and then people from the local town. I don't really have a problem with the DOD civilians since they are held to the same rules as we are....some smuck off the street is another story. We have little to no waiting list where we are mainly due to the fact that our house is crap. Free yes but after 15+ years I think I sohould get something a little better then some 19 year old kid that won't take care of his house our some 22 year old Lt just because he went to college (no offense to officers here).



Yes we pay over $1300.00 a month for something that should be torn down. Granted it goes into my pay check and then comes right out so we never really see it but you get the point.

At least you don't have to pay taxes on that! But I agree--the housing situation is screwed up!
