Just to give you an update of our cast.......
The DH....33 loves to take the pics...will NOT be in them...(are we sure he was with us??)
DW (me) 33 I just love that castle and can't wait to go back!!!
DS- 13 thought this trip was "too cool"
DD- 8 a smiley child...just loved it!!
DD-5 the daredevil and would STILL be wearing the mouse ears if we would let her...
Our last day...It was a Saturday...the night before we had been over to WL for dinner at Artist Point.....absolutely fab!! As we were leaving we inquired about the Vacation Club...Pick us up in the am....drive us to the park and give us some FP's...cool....So the next am bright and early.....because you know......WE ARE ON VACATION....we can sleep at home (so says my DH) so we are off to the Boardwalk for the Vacation Club talk....we were there 45min or so....VERY nice lady...pretty good deal...BUT you want $$$ after we've already spent major $$$...can't do it at this time BUT truely...we are interested...she says keep this in mind before you come next time....and be ready...because you get the "good deals when you are actually on site."..okay...cool...we now have our 10 FP's....breakfast..private transportation...and some very good info...off to MGM we go!!!
What to do... what to do.....so much to choose from!! Our first stop was Beauty and the Beast...such a great show!! And the pre show singers....holy cow....talk about good....(I told myself to write their name down...) Sorry guys....SO with our FP's in hand we take our 5 yo DD to T of T....the other two passed on that and opted for ice cream....we walk past ALL OF THESE PEOPLE...do they not understand??? Maybe we don't understand, but why wait in line if you don't HAVE TO!!.. It's a mystery...then we go around the corner and down the hill to RRC...my most fav...I don't know if it's the music...the ride or both...we rode that...oh....3 times by the time we left....then we went back and rode Tof T again for the little daredevil....
For lunch we went to Brown Derby...well.....this place was highly recommended ....and I'm sure that there are a lot of people for whom this place is the best....it just wasn't for us...the service was fine....the restaurant was really neat.....It just wasn't as expected...wasn't bad...(real bad anyway) ok....my DH is reading over my shoulder....we got Cobb salad...everything cut up that fine.....and everyone but me was still hungry....I tried to "open my mind to a new presentation of food"....I would go back....I just would try something else...
While we were dining....the heavens opened and I swear I saw animals go by 2 by 2......Oh wait!!! those aren't ducks!!! HEHEHe......It was funny until we had to go out in it....So out come our ponchos.....the rain was coming down in sheets and we had waited as long as we could....we headed to Indiana Jones with water to the 5 yo DD knees....(did I bring the x-tra socks today? No...why ? Because we haven't needed them any other day!) We found a seat and waited for the show....the weather calmed down a bit too....That was a fun show....we were not fooled this time around....after our experience at Sea World we were on to these audience members that are "chosen"....he was great!!....So any how...rain is down to a trickle...we did a little shopping.....hit RRC again....and decided we neede to go to Epcot for something we forgot to buy.....a Test Track Goofy....and I looked ALL OVER THE WORLD for some Goofy earings....no such luck....drat....while the hubby was running to get that, I told hin we would meet up in about 30-40 min...and we would just "run" to the living seas........HA!! We neveer did get to the darn sharks...we were walking though the walk way of the aquarium looking at the sea turtles...ooohhh ahhhh....how big...wow look at the fish.....how pretty.......then CHOMP!!!!!!! the lovely sea turtle bites the prtty little fishy in half..........yikes!!! Ok so maybe it was a good thing we missed the sharks.....the 13 yo was laughing...the 5 yo says" poor fish ....I bet that was a surprise"..the 8 yo...just shakes her head and says yuck.....now...oh 45min later...we are off to meet the waiting DH....who actually said BEFORE I walked off "it won't take me very long....try for 20 min...." Sure I said.....Yikes we're really late!! We see him....he sees us.......we know he's NOT feeling his magical day anymore....Sorry hon....
after a smooch and the tale of the turtle and the fish...and the (very brief hunt for the sharks...really it was more like "do you see em anywhere") he just HAD to know if we saw them...."No....can you believe it??? WE looked everywhere!" "We even ran dad...." We didn't really lie...just lengthened our search time....really..... honest...and we did run....to meet him...that was classic....So anyway.......We decided for our last night at Fort Wilderness we would go to the campfire and movie....and eat dinner at Trails End .....For those of you who are not familiar with FW you have no idea what you are missing....so please...DON'T GO!!! More for us next time!!! At Trail's End it's a buffet....now we had read that it wasn't "memorable...or anything special"....we beg to differ....the CM's were wonderful....the food.....mmmmm......peel and eat shrimp by the loads.....brisket....roasted veggies and chicken....great salad bar.....soups....and the deserts....yum.....and the price was not bad either!!! After dinner we ran back to our cabin and picked up our "smore gear" The graham crackers...choc. bars and the marshmellows oh and our handy dandy pitch fork...
Off we go to catch the bus to the campfire....102 Dalmations is the movie of the evening.....and Chip and Dale is there....great little family scene...people cooking hot dogs....we made smores...(I found that I....am the only one who like the darn things...) I didn't know that...geez....oh well....I planned to stay for part of the movie and then I needed to do the laundry for the last leg of the trip.....off I go...the DH stays with the kiddos.....
I head back to the cabin.....alone I might add......kinda dark scary....QUIET......wait that's not scary.....lol....just weird that's all....I'm inside disney world and no joke...until the bus came I did not see a soul.....So I get to our cabin and grab the necessary items and head to the laundry....had the willy's scared out of me by a resident critter....geez...I need to mention this is the 2nd time I have done laundry...I'm only doing as needed items...fav shorts....swimsuits....undies....and I didn't say this in an earlier post....but I honestly believe there is pixie dust in the dryers....why....they better be sprinkled with gold after 25 cents for 5 min....no joke....sorry...just a tid bit of info....
Anyway after the movie, the mob squad comes to tell me goodnight....hugs all around and kisses too...."Mommy....when do we get to come back?" Big green eyes....looking a tad sleepy....."I don't know sweetheart...why?"......(big sigh)..."I already miss everything".........Now that makes all week seem very magical to me........
Sunday am we pack up early to head to Kennedy Space Center and to Coco Beach.....We had a great time at Disney World!! Thank You to all at the Dis for all your tips and advice. These boards saved us a lot of $$ and time....It made our trip one our children will never forget!! Thanks again!!
