WDW Magic is reporting that the Living Seas will soon be redcing its hours of operation. It will close at 7:00 PM instead of 9:00 PM.

The living seas needs somthing to boost it's attendance. I think Storm Rider goign into DisneySea would be a great addition. From what I'm reading about it, it's oging to be a really good attraction.

I hadn't heard arumor about "Storm Rider" in a while. Has it been given a go or is it still a rumor? With all the effort going into "Space" I doubt much will happen but..............

I agree Living Seas needs some help and this certainly would do it. Let's all hope it happens soon:rolleyes:

I don't know about the summer, but several times earlier this year we went to TLS after dinner at Garden Grill and before we wandered over to grab our spot for ToN and RoE. We were just about the only folks in there. I don't know that this reduction in hours will affect too many people.

And, I agree, the Living Seas needs some help. Without a sponsor, I can't imagine that it will get any, though. I would venture to guess that long before Wonders of Life would shut down, we would see the end of the Living Seas. Luckily, there has been no precedent of a FW pavillion closing with no plans for a replacement attraction. Not saying that it won't happen, it just hasn't happened yet.

...But it certainly needs to be more viable. I have no problem with maintaining a beautiful acquarium with dolphin encounters & educational emphasis, but there still needs to be more of a "hook" in conjunction with it...I always thought a flume ride theme (much like atlantis at Seaworld) could tie together nicely (reality & fantasy) and make the Living Seas a more complete package...

But lets hope Disney tackles Futureworld soon. With LS in peril, Wonders of Life gasping for air and who knows what to think of JIYI, there are big concerns here that need immediate addressing...

I heard that about the Living Seas. It justs needs some new attraction to lure more guests to it! I like it and hope it keeps the visitors coming!

The Living Seas already has limited operating hoursl it doesn't open until 10 (or maybe even 11). So they are just making matters worse.

I don't think the limited hours will affect anyone! The Living Seas needs serious help. I always thought that they could increase the length of the "ride" portion (not the hydrolators) and expand on the aquarium views from that. It was a good idea that wasn't executed properly.
Peter Pirate, you're right on when you say the FW, in general, needs attention. I hope it gets it.

I have already posted this question under a different thread, but maybe it will get more response here.

Does anyone know When and/or Why UTC stopped sponsoring Living Seas? I am just curious because my husband works for one of UTC's divisions.

I agree that the Living Seas needs some help. We went to ride it late in the evening - about 8:30pm this past November, and although there was no one there hardly, we had to wait awhile. I had been on it before but forgot how bad it was, and both my husband and I were disappointed. Luckily, there was a wonderful CM there. I asked him where the dolphins were, and he said they were in their area away from viewers. Since it was almost time to close and there was no one around, he took us on a little backstage tour, up to the top of the tank and in the back to where the dolphins were about 2 feet away from us. It was pretty interesting, and made the attraction worthwhile.

I have been underwhelmed by the Living Seas from the first time I saw it. I'm not sure what they could do to fix it...some of it is pretty neat, but most of it is kind of bogus.
