The living seas

The movie about how the seas were formed is gone, too (I really liked that movie & wish they weren't makign the whole pavilion so "kiddie").

DS & I just did the Seas Aqua Tour (snorkeling) on 8/20 and the Dive Masters told us that they were going to reinstall the ride that was once there! They're currently working on it. We got to go "behind the scenes"!

As someone else said, the viewing areas and Turtle Talk are open.

Whats open is pretty boring IMHO.. I thought I remembered Living Seas being much cooler and last trip I spent some time by myself there and walked around and rode the "hydorlaters" which are just elevators.. We have better aquariums here in Charleston. I think kids will enjoy it tho..If we didnt have CR ADR we would skip Living Seas all together..

Go check out Turtle Talk with Crush at the Living Seas! It was really neat!

Well, I guess they put one over on YOU! :goodvibes

I love Disney "magic."

Regardless of WHAT they were, they are long gone from the attraction now.

I really wanted to go on dive quest but thought not to be so selfish and bought tickets to MNSSHP instead.

Next year I will swim with the fishes!

I didn't know the movie was gone :(. I agree with you.

One of the things I really enjoyed about Epcot is that the attractions were relatively independent of Disney movies and marketing (I like that in the other parks). They were just "Disney Magic".

:wave2:

Didn't this ride used to be much different years ago? I remember riding a boat ride at Epcot around 1985-86 or so, and it had dinosaurs in it, not to the extent of Jurassic Park or anything, but still dinosaurs, but my memory is a little shotty I admit, but I'm pretty sure I'm not imagining this.

Does anyone know what I'm talking about? Boat ride/Epcot/Dinosaurs/Years ago? And no I'm not talking about Dino at AK this is way before there was an AK.

Let me attempt to corral that "wide-open" post a bit.

1) No DINOS at Living Seas.

2) No BOATS viewing Dinos in Epcot.

3) What you must remember is "Universe of Energy" with its moving "theater seat vehicles" (which could seem kind of like "boats.") There were HUGE life-sized Dinos for about half of the ride.

4) Those same Dinos are still in Epcot.

5) The attraction is now called "Ellen's Energy Adventure" (its a fully re-worked version of Universe of Energy) and its always been located over on the "other side" of FW from the Seas Pavilion. (And I think its a pretty good attraction!)

Thanks, yeah that's gotta be what I remember, I was thinking it was a boat ride, but I have had a few since then. I will look for that next time.

There is also a boat, but it is in a third ride ... Living with The Land (indoor crops, about 15 minutes).
