The Living Seas--Question???

Hi There!

Last time I was at Disney, the Living Seas did not have the ride through part that I remember seeing as a kid. Have they since reopened the ride along in a vehicle part of that attraction? If not, anyone know why they made the change??

The ride portion wasn't running as of last July (I know that
doesn't really help you

As for why?? It probably saved them a few bucks and looked
good to the beancounters to not have a couple of CM's man
it.

It wasn't open in April and they weren't doing any work there.

I wasn't impressed with the Living Seas at all this time.

I also would like to know why they do not have the "Sea-cabs" any longer. I remember enjoying that, and would like my DS's and DD to be able to experience it. They would think it was neat to ride "under" the water.

Any have any information about this?

The Sea Cabs were closed some time ago for a variety of reasons, including the fact that it was a very slow-loading attraction. There were persistent rumors that the cabs were going to reopen, especially during times that other attractions were under refurbishment.

When the Nemo characters started to appear, rumors about teh sea cabs resurfaced. Then, with the closing of Food Rocks, it seemed that they would be reopening. However, it appears as though the cabs, as we remember them, are closed for good. I have been told by some CM's that there has been extensive "behind the scenes" work in the Sea Cabs area, but no plans have been announced as yet.

I would expect the Living Seas to continue in a Finding Nemo transformation, and believe that the ride-through attraction will reopen at some time, but not in the very near future, and in a different format.
