Sorry if this is a silly question - it's not to my 4 year old! We are going on the Wonder on Jan 30, 2005. Does anyone know if Ariel will be on the ship for my daughter to actually go up and talk to? I heard that she is in one of the shows, but I wondered about autograph signings and character meetings, things like that. Thanks!

Julie

I do not recall seeing Little Mermaid at any of the autograph sessions or for pictures.

Tell your daughter to keep a watch out over the waves and perhaps she'll spot Ariel swimming next to the ship. Might keep her entertained for hours. :teeth:

Wouldn't it be COOL if they had a meet and great with Ariel at CC? You could set up a special area (like at WDW) for her to sit and have a time scheduled for pictures and autographs.

I agree 100%!! Prior to our cruise, we had heard that Ariel (who is my 3yr DD's favorite) didn't make appearances, with the exception of a show. So we told her that she was in the water following the ship. She was satisfied with this explanation and watched for her in the water. It also kept her from being disappointed. She was thrilled when we got to see her in the Disney Dreams show! DD said she was "Really happy that Ariel finally got on the Mickey Boat, but now she has to go back to Flounder and Sebastian". Not bad and NO TEARS! Yeah!

Since you'll be on the WOnder, there is the statue of Ariel in the attrium. You can talk to the statue. Your daughter probably wouldn't be the first to talk to the statue

If the statue talks back you gotta run away really fast:earseek:

I really wish they could do "meet Ariel" at CC. I know that there would be MANY little girls lined up! I will tell her to watch the waves and look for Ariel, I hope that will be enough until we see her in the shows. In the Disney Cruise Line catalog they mailed to us, Ariel was used on alot of the pages. It was a cute book, but my daughter now thinks Ariel will be there! She wants to meet the "Real Ariel".

I do know that we will probably spend alot of time talking to that statue!!!

And many daddies who would want to accompany their daughters.

I do agree that an "Ariel's grotto" type of attraction would be a fitting and welcome attraction at CC. After all, what better place to find a mermaid, then by the sea on an island, right?

I know a guy that way really impressed with Ariel's shells --- IN THE MOVIE!!
BTW I prefer Esmerelda:earseek:

I married a redhead, so I'm all set. :D

Yeah- I did notice that when my husband is videotaping the parades at WDW he lingers on Ariel longer than the other characters.

And I'm a brunette not a redhead! Oh well!

(But he also mentioned that he wanted to buy me a "shell" bikini top- so that could have something to do with it!)

:smooth:
